Gray guard. The creators of Dragon Age: Inquisition left the players with a terrible Easter egg - a message from the underworld Hero of Ferelden in the Inquisition

Skyhold is not the warmest place in Thedas. You understand this when you get up early in the morning to relieve yourself. Burning winds mercilessly beat on the face, pampered with a warm pillow and blanket during the night, fresh cold air burns the lungs, preventing them from recovering, and the eyes invariably squint, unable to cope with the bright rays rising sun . The latter, however, is not always true. It's only the doors of my room that look straight to the east, the rest are located somewhat more successfully, around the corner. Trash, nothing else. Or maybe not a hack at all, but a specially thought-out room that is provided to unwanted guests. It turns out I'm not welcome here? I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. The locals have reason enough to dislike me personally and the Gray Wardens in general. Something, but here we tried. Otherwise, why is the innkeeper looking at me so sullenly? Not from the same thing that I eat for two when I decide to have a light breakfast? Or is it because I, like all the Guardians, were allowed to fill my belly until it bursts for free? Maybe I should pay him? But friend, I have no coins at all. I'm just a poor warrior without a penny in my pocket. That is why, smiling charmingly, at least I wanted to think so, I had to express my exorbitant gratitude with the words: - Can I have supplements? The dwarf, who did not change a millimeter in his face, was clearly not impressed by my attempt. His small eyes looked straight into my soul and, it seems, even a little deeper. I guess that means no? I asked, doubtful. - How about half a serving? The innkeeper's face remained unchanged. Is he breathing at all? We played staring for another five seconds, until I looked away, sighing. Why is he such a jerk? Is there not enough food here? In Skyhold? Or has it become a shameful act to feed the Gray Warden, and I did not notice? - The Creator bequeathed to us to share with the suffering, you know? This was my trump card. One hundred percent remedy, after which my stomach began to radiate waves of joy, and the face of the interlocutor was frank irritation. That is why, when the innkeeper's brows furrowed even more, and sounds finally began to come from his throat, I was delighted. - I'm a gnome. But only to hastily return to its previous, hungry state. - Yes, I see. … It seems that faith in the Creator has not finally taken root among the underground. My sigh filled with despair again went through the tavern. You can't cook porridge with this. It's like he's going broke throwing some more at me. Zhmotyar. But I have to go to Weisshaupt early tomorrow. This is not for you to walk along the beach, in fact, but for a long and exhausting time. Again, you have to eat whatever hits. The memories of how I had to pluck every elven root and abyssal fungus that came across on the way, just so as not to die of hunger, still make me shudder. Very nutritious things for their size, by the way. True, it tastes like wood mixed with mud, and like mud mixed with wood, but useful. I don't want to eat elven roots. I don't want to see deep mushrooms. - All right, all right, I'm leaving, - I raised my hands up, giving up under the gaze of the pulp. The latter did not react in any way, continuing to silently stare at me. Thanks for breakfast and all. Getting up from my chair and turning around, I slowly walked to the opposite end of the room, intending to rid the local population of my company. But it was not only a bald-headed member of the race of short men who looked after me, but a number of other faces that were only partially familiar to me. Among them were the same Guardians as I, perhaps less obstinate in their desires. I calmly recognized a couple of them by their faces sullenly pointed at the table, and I could not remember someone even with an effort. But this is not surprising, given the number of recruits recruited over the past ten years, not to mention foreigners who have appeared at the end of the last pestilence. However, these days it was hardly possible to divide us according to nationalities. Not after Adamant. The Order is in decline again. My eyes caught on a woman standing next to the stairs to the second floor with a puzzled expression on her face. And, in fact, such an insignificant event would not have attracted my attention in any other case, if she had not stared at me even more diligently than the innkeeper. As I passed by, I raised an eyebrow at her intrusion. Maybe she fell for my charms? Women often say that I am charm itself. Well... "often" might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it definitely happened. Once. One day. In any case, what could go wrong? The woman continued to examine me from head to toe, puzzled, leaving my modest person no other choice - winking at her as ambiguously as possible, I stretched a no less confident smirk across my face. She is mine. Suddenly, her face stretched a little, and her lips formed the letter "o". In fact, I think she even voiced it. I stood like a pillar, dumbfounded by the sudden change in the woman's mood. Now she was openly smiling mischievously, narrowing her eyes. Creator… What, seriously worked? It shouldn't. Never worked. More precisely, it worked, but it has not worked for a long time! What? Like a complete fool, I looked at her, not immediately noticing how she took out a lute from behind her back. Oh yeah, she's a bard. Or a minstrel. Or whatever they are called. Singer. Not for a second without ceasing to smile charmingly, she began to strum, immediately betraying a pleasant tune. This obviously wasn't the first time I'd seen her perform in person. In the end, it was in this tavern that I spent about a quarter of my free time, and she seems to have settled here altogether. Everyone around fell silent, immediately shifting the focus of attention to one person. The music immediately spread throughout the building, also taking over a large area around. …Is she going to sing about me? - O, Gray Warden, you will not see peace, As long as you do not stop devastating warehouses. Like a creature of darkness, straight ahead, Your stomach leads to food. …Of course. A fervent chuckle passed through the room, periodically accompanied by a jellied grunt. Laugh-laugh. Let's see what songs you sing when the next Plague begins. Shaking my head, I had no choice but to hurry to the exit. The laughter of the regulars became my companion, but that's okay. Don't mock the stupid Gray Warden- a terrible sin. Especially over one particular one. - We are with you, Alistair ... - came from the corner. The same restless souls as I looked sympathetically after me. They had the sense to be satisfied with their usual double portion. Pro-a-quite, laugh at the fool Alistair. He's so funny. Especially when hungry. And cold. And gloomy. And, probably, in all other cases. Nodding and smiling at my comrades in arms, I finally left the inn, once again coming face to face with the cold Skyhold wind. But he's better than this farce. The minstrel continued her song, in many ways for the amusement of everyone, but I no longer listened to her. Who needs her pretty words anyway. Anyone can stand up and start reciting their rhymes! But I would watch how she would try to fill up the Archdemon with her lute! And besides… I have my own Song. Persistent and annoying, which has been terrorizing my life for weeks. And not only mine, but she claims the opposite. Listening... I start to feel special. The only one. Better than the rest. Better than Cailan because he was an idiot, better than Riordan because he didn't do his duty, better than Protector of Kirkwall because she stayed in the Fade, better than the Inquisitor because she lies to everyone, better... Duncan because he died. But before she can break me with her nefarious motives, Song makes a mistake. Because she says I'm better than her. Nobody is better than her. Not in this or any other world. A bunch of naked shit is the price of this Song. It cannot be the Call. I shake my head in a desperate attempt to shut up the lousy bard, but it doesn't help. It makes it hard to sleep. She drives me crazy. Grimacing, I remember the years spent in the ranks of the templars. Whatever the attitude towards the order, especially now, it offered protection, not only of the body, but also of the soul. They also had tricks in store that could give me a couple of hours of peace. Like meditation. Too bad I don't have time for it. You need to prepare for a trip to Weisshaupt, after all. No one will do it for me. All alone with my madness ... Slowly starting to move my legs, I wandered down towards the makeshift square, into recent times just teeming with traders of various stripes and spills. I'll make a list of what I need and give it to the quartermaster. The Lady Inquisitor promised to provide me with everything I needed. In fact, I was supposed to speak yesterday. The fortress of the Gray Wardens is many kilometers away and someone should warn the order of the danger, but I decided to wait. Postpone your trip for one day. Because Leliana is now the curator of a spy ring. And one bird whispered to her that someone was already almost at the threshold of Skyhold. Not just someone, of course, but a Hero of Ferelden in person. Such rumors could hardly be called hot. To be honest, they constantly pop up here and there, but they are never confirmed. So I didn't have much reason to trust Leliana's ears, however... However... ... ...Hope was exactly the panacea I needed. One day still won't change anything. That's why I went, only now figuring out what might be useful to me. What to choose: a spare pair of boots or a spare head of cheese? Deep, however, I did not have a chance to think, as well as leave. Having taken literally ten steps from the Shelter of the Messenger, I found myself at the cornice with a view of the front square of the castle. There was nothing unusual about it: the same gates that let everyone in, the same tents that served as a first aid station, the same crowd, led by Lady Lavellan herself. Nothing unusual. Weekday Thursday, no more. The only thing that stood out was an unbearable desire to immediately jump off and move the Inquisitor to the side. In fact, the desire was so overwhelming that I already found my foot on the ledge. I don't like leaving things unfinished. - If you think that by breaking into a cake you will impress her, then your judgment is wrong. Naturally, when I heard the too-familiar voice, I froze in place, allowing only my neck to turn in the direction of the irritant. There was no strict need for this, but, nevertheless. The Morrigan, with herself, stood a little to the left, watching the same scene as I had a second earlier. I know she's in Skyhold. One day he even came up and said hello. Ran into a couple of caustic comments, left a few in response. Laughed with her about it. Met his… Kieran… And decided to try not to shine in front of them anymore. Because it will be better for all of us. But here she is, standing next to me, again looking at me like I'm an idiot. However, "how" is superfluous here. I am an idiot, and this has long been public knowledge. At least, directly with me familiar. After looking at her in response for a couple of seconds, I still had to put my foot back, agreeing with the arguments of the witch. Becoming a meat chop right now seemed like a very nasty prospect. However, I did not want to dance to her tune for free. - And your nose still looks like mother's. This is Morrigan. After playing peepers with me a little more, she rolled her eyes, turned around and walked towards the stairs, intending to join in the general confusion. Somewhere along the way, her son joined her, enthusiastically asking if the rumors were true or not. And I'm a hero of Ferelden too, you know. Why is no one lining up for my autograph? Unexpectedly, the crowd stopped whispering and squealed loudly, attracting the attention of everyone who had not yet had time to join the standing. A flood of inspiration swept over me as well, diverting me from contemplating the witch of the wildlands in favor of… Someone. The instigator of the riot still had to show himself to the crowd, but, frankly, there was no need for this. After all, everyone already knew who decided to visit our barren lands. Butterflies in my stomach allowed me to go back fifteen years, when their presence was often felt when looking at some brand new sister with a prominent bust. Pushing the premature celebrations away, I closed my eyes and concentrated, calling out to the filth within. The song resisted, but was ignored - its presence was reduced to a vague awareness in the recesses of memory. A second, and I felt. Three close, literally a dozen steps behind, five in a tavern, three more at different ends of the castle, a couple among the crowd, no one in the center. I opened my eyes and felt the glass of hope crack. Eyebrows almost closed under the pernicious influence of my thoughts. What if it's all a mistake? I don't feel it. Does that mean she did? Why didn't you tell me ahead of time what if it was someone else? I need to make sure. Turning around, my legs quickly carried me down to the stairs. Part of my mind was still pushing the idea of cutting down and jumping off the ledge, but I had enough self-control to keep myself under control. There are people in these tents, and I doubt that anyone will appreciate the almost centner of mass that fell on them from heaven. The song played louder, but was never heard. With each step, the chirping of people became louder, but at the same time clearer. Everyone from soldiers to refugees spoke of the hooded wanderer. Someone suggested that this was after all the Hero of Ferelden, much to my headache, someone that Hawke returned from the Fade, watering echoes of guilt in my soul. I'm sure a couple of individuals have publicly stated that Andraste herself came to us in these dark times, for which we got ambiguous looks from Leliana and the Inquisitor. But their babble didn't interest me. It wasn't Andraste that I needed right now. Finally reaching the living circle, I was numb. A stupid, barely justified fear caused my body to freeze in place. It didn't last long. I know how to deal with this creature. He was my companion for more than one year. Taking a deep breath, I raised my head. I've never been called small in my life, but that's how I felt about myself. My height was simply not enough to see at least something other than a few dozen goals ahead. A hard-to-filter curse escaped my lips as I contrived how to get rid of this obstacle. But, apparently, it was she who attracted too much attention to my person - Leliana turned to me with a strange smirk on her face. She used to have a bright smile instead. The years didn't pass her by. However, one red head was not enough to convince me of something now. How can you believe something if you can't believe yourself? What if this is all a dream? An invention of the Shadow, who decided to mock the brainless Gray Warden? Or maybe I still stayed in it? A brave hero who decided to pay for everyone? "In death, sacrifice." Today is far from the first time when my own head plays cruel jokes with me. The heart, for some reason, found itself far in the heels, did not help at all to cope with the uncompromising uprising of the mind. Without having time to realize what happened, I found myself among the crowd, who managed to break through to its middle. Behind my back, someone threw a savory insult at me, not shirking a kick in the leg, but I was not up to it. He can beat me as much as he wants. Most likely, it will only hurt itself. For a second, the idea to continue to break forward seemed the only right one, but it was not destined to come true. Because I saw. At first fleetingly, literally out of the corner of my eye, but after a moment, accurately and purposefully. Someone, obviously a woman, in a dirty gray cloak covering her entire body. In order not to rush forward and tear off her damned hood, I had to turn to forces that I did not even suspect existed. You have to be patient. But Song thought otherwise. For some unknown reason, she suggested that I do just that. How I want. As I think. As I need. Because of this, for a split second, I doubted its adequacy, but only to once again doubt my own. Whose side is she on? What does she need? The Lady Inquisitor took a few steps towards the wanderer, followed by her three chief advisers. The actions of the top did not go unnoticed - the woman in the cloak turned to them, which finally saved me from the chance to see her face. A wave of irritation swept over him and the Song howled in anticipation. After a series of bows, they began to talk. As expected, Leliana was the first to speak, taking the responsibility of introducing her colleagues. Scraps of names drifted to my ears, but inevitably drowned in an ocean of whispers and chatter. When, judging by my gestures, it was time to introduce myself to a stranger, I strained my ears so hard that they seemed to turn red. The unexpected impulse to move in the face of the overly chatty soldier on the right had to be put in one corner with the desire to break forward. But in the end, failure was waiting for me here. The crowd just needed to hoot enthusiastically, without letting me know at least something. Not a single broken letter. But the Creator, apparently, decided that good fun comes out of me. Instead of a direct answer, he continued to feed me half. Otherwise, how did it happen that Morrigan, who crawled out from somewhere with a friendly smirk on her face, was instantly attacked by a mabari with a familiar color? Happy barking resounded throughout the area, mixed with cursing of the witch, who was surprised that "this mongrel is not dead yet." The dog, however, did not for a moment stop its attempts to lick a familiar face, and several people even understood that Morrigan, in fact, was not so strongly opposed. One of these was Leliana, who became the second victim of the merciless mabari. There were dirty paw prints on her clothes now, but the master of secret affairs did not betray them much, being too busy squeezing the big-faced monster. And there was only one thought in my head. That's her. Doubts fell like a heavy stone from my shoulders, dispelling completely when the mabari, deciding to leave the women alone, sniffed and stared in my direction. Barking once more, the animal rushed straight towards me, dangling its tongue in different directions. Those unfortunate ones who were not lucky enough to be between the dog and his target, in fear of being torn to pieces, dispersed to the sides, wisely deciding to give him what he wants. That is me. With a bark, the mabari repeated the same procedure as with his former companions. Almost knocking me down, he began to slobber me in every possible way. First it was my bracers that fell within the reach of the animal, then the griffin on the breastplate, then my face, when I finally deigned to lower myself to the level accessible to him. - Okay, okay, I missed you too. It's nice when at least someone remembers you, right? Even if it's just a dog. The latter barked in agreement, wriggling in every possible way. The time of typing, however, was not without its moments. The color of the dog, once completely ocher, boasted new colors and not only from scars and caddis. Here and there small tufts of gray showed through, telling everyone that this mabari had more than one five years behind him. By combat experience, he can give odds to half the army of the Inquisition. - I would not be able to forget you, and with all the desire. Slowly ceasing to play with the dog's muzzle, I raised mine, meeting the wanderer's eyes. For some reason, she was only a meter away from me, although a couple of seconds ago she was so far away. Or not seconds at all? How long have we been here? The minor question was quickly forgotten as my body straightened up, much to the indignation of the quadruped. I looked at her stupidly while she looked at me. A strange emptiness arose in my head, with which I could not do anything. As if all thoughts left me at once. She was so close that I could reach out and touch her. Touch, make sure that this is not another dream or nonsense inspired by filth. She already deceived me, exposing, as a result, a complete idiot. Even worse, when I ran out into the yard in a panic in my underwear. But what is ridicule, in front of her face? In doubt, but not at all out of fear of being ridiculed, I cautiously reached forward. Gently, as if afraid she would disappear the moment I touched her, my fingertips touched her cheek and recoiled as she flinched in response. But the whole palm followed the tips, easily finding a place on a familiar face. That's her. Whole and unharmed. Warm and soft. Tired and exhausted. Like a kitten, she clung to my hand, closing her eyes for a couple of seconds. The people all around whispered, obviously excited by the unexpected performance, but it hardly bothered me or her. These Orlesians can talk to their heart's content, it would be heartless to take away their main leisure. "...You're covered in mud," I said as I attempted to scrape off a layer of dried earth from her cheek. Anything is better than being covered in dog spit. A small smile of its own accord appeared on my face. - Well I do not know. At least it keeps me relatively clean. The last drop of doubt that languished in my soul disappeared as soon as she smiled back. No dream could imitate it. No song could ever repeat her voice. Finally, it was her. Unable to resist any longer, I leaned forward, covering the distance between us in an instant. The crowd gasped in dismay as our lips touched, greedily biting into each other. Without hesitation, she threw her arms around my shoulders, forming a castle, and snuggled closer. My own limbs, having lost contact with the head, gained free will, refusing to release their prey from their grip. There was an animal desire to let them go lower, but common sense, take it, the Creator, convinced that this was not the right place, forcing him to squeeze his palms even more tightly. I felt her lips stretch in mockery, mocking me in response, but due to the connection with closed quivering eyelids, she failed to convince me of anything. The euphoria did not last long. We separated from each other, breathing heavily. There was not enough air, but I took my sip - the world became much less gray. Even the faces of those around him, showing a wide range of emotions, did not seem as empty and meaningless as before. Including the Inquisitor, who quietly dragged her commander away from the crowd and made him blush amusingly. Pops were heard. At first, isolated, barely audible, then they found support, and in the end they completely rumbled from everywhere. To the whistle of approval, we looked at each other, grinning foolishly out of habit. She is covered in dirt and dried blood in her hair, but no less attractive for that. I've seen worse. Was worse. She was worse, but I don’t remember that it ever stopped someone. It didn't stop now, when I reached for the second sip, but still I was stopped halfway. There was no hand blocking the way, no public censure, only the sound of a dying Gauls coming from somewhere suspiciously close. I froze. She froze. All of Skyhold seemed to freeze, listening to the painful sound. Covering the lower part of her face with one hand, and clutching her stomach with the other, she murmured in a whisper: - Oh. A wide grin, worthy of mention in historical chronicles, probably stretched across my face. It seemed that even the all-powerful Hero of Ferelden had enemies she could never defeat. Who would have thought that a completely ordinary creature, a? - Hungry? - sounded absolutely meaningless question. “…Yes,” to which an equally nonsensical response was received. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the lady ambassador open her mouth and extend her hand, clearly intending to make a tempting proposal to an unexpected guest, but was immediately stopped by Leliana, earning my gratitude for this. Coming abreast of my wife, I offered my elbow, urging her to use it. - In that case, I know one fine institution. Playing along with my tomfoolery, she, justifying her noble roots, took the chance to be accompanied by such a stately gentleman. - That's how. Then lead, noble sir. With a playful smile, we began to move. - With great pleasure, monna. We heard an absolutely unanimous bark in the back, accompanied by paws slapping through the puddles and the ground. No, of course no one forgot about you, Butterfly. I mean, Darkspawn. You just need to understand when it is better to give the stage to others and go underground. Well, since we are talking about the creatures of darkness ... - However, first we still have to find a tub of water. Although the establishment was far from being created for aristocrats, no one will let you inside with such a coloring. No change in her face, she looked at me expectantly. - What? It's all blood. She'll scare the recruits, and some might even— "Aleister," she interrupted me, snuggling even closer. - Yeah? She looked into my eyes as if she was about to say something, but changed her mind at the last moment. -…Nothing. Tell me something. This I can. For the past few years, all I've been doing is getting into something. There are so many stories, more than enough. - Well, - I agreed without any problems, already knowing where to start, - remember Stroud? Mustachioed and all serious? So, once we went with him to the deep paths ... Probably, the story could have been picked up and more interesting, but I realized that I was doing everything right when I heard her laugh. Pure and unadulterated. Resounding and inextinguishable. Inevitable. Like a song that exists only for one person in the world. What else can I dream of? Just about never waking up again.

The developers announced the return of many characters from the previous parts of the series in dragon age: Inquisition. Which, of course, we are incredibly happy about.

However, as was already the case in the second part, many familiar characters will receive a new look, and some of them will change not only their appearance, but also their character. This, however, is not surprising, given what the heroes had to endure in past games. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take all old friends into the Party again.

So who exactly will we see again in the open spaces? In this article, we tried to collect everyone in one place.

Morrigan

A mysterious and seductive witch from the Wilds, the daughter of the mighty Flemeth, Morrigan played an important role in the first game of the series and disappeared, leaving many unresolved questions in her wake. In one of the endings of Dragon Age: Origins, Morgan saved the life of the Gray Warden, who defeated the Archdemon, by conceiving a child with him. After the battle, she left in an unknown direction. Later we met the witch again in add-on Dragon Age: Witch Hunt, where she, having warned us about the upcoming changes (apparently hinting at the events of the third part), went through the portal to another world without explaining anything.

In Dragon Age: Inquisition, we meet Morigan in Orlais, where she works as an adviser to the Empress. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to take her as a party member. But, according to the developers, she will play an important role in the plot, so we hope that we will finally find out all the secrets of the charming witch.

Leliana

Another beauty from the first game in the series: the highly spiritual and religious Leliana from Dragon Age: Origins, appears in the Inquisition in a new image - now she is an assassin from Orlais. Leliana has always been a master of intrigue and covert operations, and now, having honed these skills to mastery, she is more dangerous than ever.

Cassandra Pentaghast

This noble lady left social events for the sake of service in the Order of Seekers of Truth. Purposeful and pious Cassandra values justice above all else, because she is the hero of Orlais and the right hand High Priestess Justinia V. In the second part, the woman interrogated Varik, and in the third part she will take an active part, acting as a partner of the Inquisitor. Among other things, it will be possible to have an affair with her.

Varric Tetras

Varric is a dwarven adventurer who, however, does not particularly want to return to his roots in underground cities. In the second part of the series, together with Hawk, he provoked the development of the war of magicians and templars, but after a thorough investigation and interrogation, he was found not guilty. Ultimately underground dweller joined the Inquisition. Despite the fact that Varric values his own life more than anything in the world, he willingly participates in various dubious adventures, and the years have not changed this habit. Getting involved in more and more new problems, the dwarf is always in the center of events.

The return of the following characters has also been announced but not yet confirmed:

  • Anora Daughter of Loghain MacTeer and wife of the late King Cailan Teirin of Ferelden
  • Flemeth- a powerful witch of the Wildlands, who appeared in both the first and second parts
  • Alistair- Gray Warden from the first part of the game, who became the king of Ferelden (in some endings)
  • hawkmain character Dragon Age 2
  • Hero of Ferelden- The Gray Warden, who played a key role in the fight against the plague and the Archideon in the first part of the game (in case he remained alive)

Of particular interest is the declared implementation of the return of heroes who were playable in previous parts of the series. We hope that the developers of Dragon Age: Inquisition will keep this promise and users will receive not standard characters from advertising posters of past games, but customized ones - created by the players themselves during the last passage.

Gamers have discovered an unusually creepy easter egg, which, according to fans, the developers left as some kind of clue. As it became known to the site, during the passage of one of the missions, a voice from the other world hints at additional content to the game.

While visiting the Temple of Mythal, players can drink from the Well of Sorrows to partake of the secret knowledge of the Elves. Knowledge appears in the form of a sacred voice, whispering some unintelligible words. As it turned out, this message was written backwards, and if you "turn" it, you can understand a few words leading to the solution of the riddle.

« She says... she fell... go to him... voices... voices', said in an eerie voice. Some players tried to fill in the gaps themselves and received the following message: She speaks the truth. She's fallen, she's lost. Go to the altar, Mythal and Solas are calling».

At first glance, the words may seem like nonsense, but fans familiar with the history of Dragon Age took them as a hint of new missions that will appear in the game. Apparently, the Temple is talking about the Hero of Ferelden, who players have never seen throughout the history of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Morrigan noted that he traveled west in search of something to get rid of the votes.

According to Gamebomb.ru, these mentioned voices appeared among the followers of the Gray Wardens, who, as an initiation ceremony, must drink a mixture of lyrium, the blood of an archdemon, and other components. Years after the initiation ceremony, members of the guardians begin to hear voices that subsequently drive them insane. The hero Ferelden traveled west in search of something that would allow him to get rid of these voices.

New part Dragon games Age has introduced a new range of key heroes, and has not forgotten about the characters from the previous parts, so you can meet both old and new party members in the game. But the game will show players not only satellites, but also key non-playable characters from previous parts, such as Morgan, Alistair and many others. Below you can see the followers you can recruit into your Inquisition:

Varric Tetras - he is Hawke's companion from the previous part, he is also a dwarf, he is also an adventurer. In general, nothing new, everyone has already met him in Dragon Age 2. Consists of a very influential trading family of his fellow dwarves of the surface. After the events that happened in the second part, he decided to join the Inquisition.

Cassandra Pentaghast is the same seeker of truth from the second part, she also interrogated Varric. Also, because of personal motives and beliefs, she decided to become a member of the Inquisition.

The Iron Bull is a member of the Qunari race. The head of a very famous mercenary squad. Conducted various espionage operations in other regions, at the behest of the same Qunari. Enters the Inquisition because he wants to learn more about the activities of a rapidly growing order. Distinguished from other Qunari by his friendliness and courtesy to chat. He does not like to follow the instructions of Kun, he prefers to take everything in life that he can take away in his hands.

Vivien is a magician from the famous Orlais. She was among the first candidates for the position of First Enchanter, but as political tensions began to rise sharply in the country, she was forced to leave her native land and join the ranks of the Inquisition in order to somehow find a way to save her fellow magicians.

Solas is an elf mage who is also an apostate. Master of the Shadow and all who dwell there. While still a baby, he began to practice magic and soon brought his magical abilities to perfection. The knowledge of Solas is simply essential for the Inquisition, as you need to know what you are fighting and how to fight.

Sera is an archer of elven origin. She was born and raised for a long time on the streets of Orlais. Quite impulsive, but also a simple-minded girl. Constantly enjoying the present moments of life. Joins the ranks of the Inquisition in order to dispel many questions unknown to her.

Dorian Pavus is a renowned Tevinter magister who constantly fights against slavery. Opposes slavery. He tries with all his might to prevent his comrades-in-arms from following the path of evil and darkness, due to a lack of his strength, in the midst of the war between the Mages and the Templars, he joins the ranks of the Inquisition.

The ending depended on the choices and actions of the protagonist.

Hawk is the main character of the second part - Dragon Age II. Unlike the previous part, the main race is human, but the choice of gender was up to the player's choice. When the events of the fifth Blight took place, he fled from the destroyed Lothering to the city of Kirkwall, where he lived for the last seven of his years. He took part in the uprising of magicians and chose one of the two sides of this conflict (templars or magicians). After what happened in the city, he disappeared without a trace.

In the second part, he took part in the uprising of magicians in the city of Kirkwall. After all the events that he experienced, he treats magicians with quite a lot of distrust. Morrigan is the child (daughter) of Flemeth. Pursues goals that are not entirely clear. In the original part of Dragon Age: Origins, she accompanied the Gray Warden everywhere. There are several endings to the completion of the first part with Morrigan. She either saved the life of the hero of Ferelden, or saved the life of the second Gray Warden that was in the party. Having conceived a child with one of the guardians, she placed the soul of the slain Archdemon into him. In Dragon Age: Inquisition, she plays the role of an adviser to the Empress of Orlais - Selina I.

Gray Warden- the main character of Dragon Age: Origins (hereinafter - DAO), controlled by the player. His backstory depends on the chosen class, of which there are six: among them a casteless dwarf or a rogue elf, a noble from Ferelden, or even a member of the royal dwarf family. After the end of the prologue, the Guardian will join the Gray Wardens, and later can become a captain of the Gray Wardens in the DAO Awakening.

Biography

Dragon Age: Origins

When the Warden's backstory ends, he, rescued by Duncan - the leader of the Gray Wardens of Ferelden - will join King Cailan Theirin and his warriors in Ostagar, who oppose the oncoming army of the Darkspawn. This is where the main story line DAO - the hero has to gather an army and defeat Pestilence. However, political tensions, fragmentation and a host of other frustrating (and inspiring) factors cross our hero's path.

The player always chooses what actions the Guardian will take, what he will say, and this greatly affects both the ending of the story and the fate of allies, enemies and opponents. Unlike many other RPGs, the end result of these choices cannot be summed up in one word. On the contrary, each ally, enemy or rival shows an individual attitude to the actions of the protagonist.

Dragon Age: Origins - "Awakening"

Six months later, the Warden may return once again in the form of Gray Warden Captain Ferelden. The Order of the Guardians themselves obtained the Tower of Vigil in Amaranthine, where they established a base.

Despite the fact that the archdemon is dead, the Darkspawn have not backed down as usual, with reports coming in that speak of their new, highly intelligent breed. During the investigation, the hero learns that the Creatures of Darkness are divided into two groups, the first of which is led by the Mother, and the second by the Architect. It is this conflict that causes further incidents. The Guardian has no choice - he kills the Mother, but the Architect can be released to continue his work.

Dragon Age: Origins, Witch Hunt DLC

As part of the DAO saga, the Guardian's adventures come to an end with the latest DLC titled "Witch Hunt". Looking for a former comrade - Morrigan, the protagonist is also looking for clues regarding Eluvian - a mirror that serves as a portal to a dimension beyond Thedas and the Shadow.

The player stumbles upon Eluvian and Morrigan in the Graveyard of Dragonbones. Final (when importing a save, some options may not be available):

  • The protagonist tries to kill the Morrigan. Although the wound looks fatal, it falls into the portal, so it is completely unclear what happened to her. Taking some things from her camp, the Guardian leaves.
  • The Guardian is in love with Morrigan, or they are good friends, and he wants her to stay. No matter what, Morrigan will pass through the portal. The hero either refuses to go with her himself - they say, he is not ready, or she forces him to stay, motivating him by the fact that he does not believe that he will give up everything and cut himself off from known world. Then, after taking some items from her camp, he leaves the Graveyard with Ariana, Finn, and the dog.
  • The Guardian wants to go with Morrigan because he loves her and/or wants to meet his son (such an ending is available for a male hero). She kisses him and they pass through the portal, leaving everything and everyone behind (in some cases even the hero's son).

Dragon Age 2

The Gray Warden is mentioned during the prologue when Varric tells Cassandra Pentaghast how Flemeth helped the Hawke family, who had fled the Fifth Blight, reach the Free Marches. The Seeker begins to openly doubt Varric's words, believing that the latter attaches too much importance to the Witches of the Wilds. However, Varric reminds her of Flemeth's role in the history of the Gray Warden, and Cassandra agrees with his version. Subsequently, the theme of the Guardian is briefly touched upon in the transitional scene from the prologue to the First Act.

In Act 1, Hawke (the protagonist of Dragon Age 2) encounters Bodan Feddic for the first time and can tell him that he knew the Gray Warden personally. The content of the story depends on which world backstory is selected in Dragon Age 2 (hereinafter referred to as DA2) or on the imported DAO save.

In Act 2, as Hawke fights his way through the streets of Kirkwall to meet the Arishok, he is confronted by a group of Gray Wardens. Depending on Hawk's actions and the decisions made in the DAO, Alistair - if he has not left the order - will be accompanied by Bethany or Carver (depending on the choice Hawk made in Deep Roads). After a wide-ranging dialogue, Alistair gives Hawke the amulet, named "Sacred Heart", and continues the conversation, the content of which depends on his position in the hierarchy of the Gray Wardens and his attitude towards them. Then he and his fighters will leave Kirkwall for some mysterious assignment. If Alistair died, became an exile or became king in the DAO, the Gray Wardens would be led by Stroud. In these circumstances, the topic of the Guardian will not be touched upon in the conversation.

In Act 3, if the player has imported a save or selected a backstory where Alistair became king, during the quest "King Alistair", he is announced in the Steward's Keep. The Guardian can be mentioned in the dialogue between Alistair and Bann Tegan at the end secondary task. How exactly the main character of the DAO emerges in their conversation depends on the chosen backstory or the imported file. If the Guardian was female and had an affair or married Alistair, the dialogue will be much longer.

Despite the end of the DAO Witch Hunt DLC, at the end of the DA2 story, the Guardian, if he survived, disappears without a trace. This is told by Leliana in the 9:40 Dragon Age, who has been searching for him ever since as a Seeker of the Church. At the same time, Cassandar Pentaghast, also a Seeker of the Church, is looking for Hawke, intending to use him to stop the war between the mages and the templars.

Regarding everything that is happening, Leliana says: there is no question of an accident, both - both the Guardian and the Protector - have disappeared ... because they have not yet fulfilled their destiny.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

From conversations with Morrigan or Leliana (if they had an affair), as well as with Alistair (if he remained a Gray Warden), you can find out that the Hero of Ferelden is now looking for a way to get rid of the Call. In the dialogue, it will be noted that Fiona was able to get rid of the filth, although she herself does not know how, and Avernus managed to extend his life for an unnaturally long time with the help of his experiments. And the Guardian this moment is looking for clues that could help prevent the Call from occurring altogether.

The Guardian can also contact the Inquisitor by sending an agent to complete the "Contact the Hero of Ferelden" mission. The Inquisitor will receive a letter, the contents of which may reflect some of the choices made in the DAO. Below is one of the letters:

Character Creation

Choice of background Creating an Appearance Distribution of characteristics Skill distribution Spell Distribution

The game begins with the choice of gender, race (human, elf or dwarf) and class (warrior, rogue or mage); gnomes cannot be wizards. Then the background of the character is selected: for each race, one or two options out of six possible are assigned. A human noble can be a warrior or a rogue. A Dalish or city elf is a warrior elf or a rogue elf. Similarly with a commoner dwarf and a noble dwarf. Human mage and elf mage have the same backstory.

Next, the player chooses a name, adjusts the appearance (above the shoulder) and portrait, selects a voice. After - characteristics and skills. Then, if you play as a warrior or a rogue, skills are distributed. Mages have spells instead of skills. Eventually, the appropriate difficulty level is set and the adventure begins.

Name

The name depends on the background and gender, however, at the request of the player, it can be rewritten in every possible way (the length should be no more than 11 characters).

Note: no one will call the Guardian by his first name. But it will slip in some dialogue options.

Surname

Although the character's name can be changed without much restrictions, his last name is dictated by the backstory:

Note: there are six variants of the prologue, but there are seven surnames in the list - it's just that the story of a human magician and an elf magician originates from the Tower of the Circle.

Starting skills and abilities/spells

Regardless of how a character is created, they automatically "spend" two skill points and one skill/spell point. Of course, the player is given one more skill point and two skill/spell points. In automatic mode, they are distributed according to class and background. In the Xbox 360 version, the Guardian initially has the second level of combat training.

Class background Starting Skills Starting Skills/Spells
Warrior Dalish Elf combat training Survival Pinning Shot
city elf Influence Swing with two arms
Dwarf Commoner Thief
Noble Dwarf Improved Combat Training Hit

Noble Man
Rogue Dalish Elf Making poisons Survival Dirty

Level

As in any other role play, the level of the character depends on personal achievements and on how far the player has progressed in the story. When the hero gets new level, certain indicators automatically increase (life and stamina / mana), but the characteristics and skills / spells are distributed manually, if the "Autolevel" mode is not enabled.

In DAO, it is difficult to reach the last, 25th level. Since the enemies do not respawn, there are enough events in the game and all the DLCs for it to gain from 17 to 24 levels (depending on the number of completed additional tasks and collected Codex records). Making full use of the abilities of any rogue on the team, i.e. picking locks and disarming traps, you can gain a huge amount of experience. Be that as it may, the 25th level is achieved through generous funding of the allied forces.

In DAO Awakening, DLC Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt, the last level is 35.

Equipment

The main character can wear the following equipment:

  • For special occasions, the Guardian saves the assassination dagger, which takes up no room in the inventory and is shown in scenes in which the problem is solved with violence.
  • You can switch between two sets of weapons.
  • With the exception of the dog and Sheila, the Guardian's companions wear the same equipment.
