Until Death Do Part: The Game of Thrones Couples Who Didn't Survive. Nowhere without love: all the romantic relationships of the heroes of "Game of Thrones" Arya Stark and Sandor "The Dog" Clegane

Political intrigue and bloody wars of murder are not all that Game of Thrones has to offer its fans. In the Seven Kingdoms and beyond the Narrow Sea, there is room for love. Of course, not all alliances made here are filled with romance. Some of them can frankly shock the viewer. We invite you to remember the most vivid relationships of the heroes of the television series - from frightening and cruel to exciting and beautiful.

37. Craster and his daughters

The former ally of the Night's Watch was notorious for sleeping with his daughters and giving all newborn sons to the White Walkers. Unarguably, Craster's relationship is the worst in our review.

36. Walder Frey and his wives

The love "adventures" of Frey Sr. look no less disgusting. The aged Lord of the Crossing preferred to marry very young girls.

35. Sansa Stark and Ramsey Bolton

For Sansa, the bloodthirsty Ramsey was not the best match. Having endured an incredible amount of humiliation and bullying, she fed her husband to the dogs.

34. Stannis and Selyse Baratheon

This marriage was devoid of love and ended tragically. On the advice of Melisandre, the couple gave their daughter to the Lord of Light, sending her to the stake, after which Selyse hanged herself from a tree.

33. Sansa Stark and Joffrey Baratheon

Sansa's first fiancé was no better than Ramsey Bolton. Joffrey showed her the head of a dead Ned Stark and threatened to shoot her with a crossbow.

32. Lord Baelish and Lysa Arryn

Littlefinger used Lisa's love in cold blood. To begin with, Baelish removed it with the hands of Lord Arryn, and then threw it into the Moon Door and gained power over the Valley.

31. Melisandre and Stannis Baratheon

The relationship of the characters was more of a partnership than a romantic one. Their "productive" collaboration killed Renly, Shireen, and Stannis himself.

30. Cersei Lannister and Robert Baratheon

Robert didn't bother to hide his feelings for the late Lyanna Stark from Cersei. The humiliated wife cheated on the king with her own brother and organized his death.

29. Lancel and Cersei Lannister

Cersei was only manipulating her cousin through sex. At her request, Lancel gave Robert a drink while hunting, after which the drunken king was wounded by a boar.

28. Tyrion Lannister and Shae

These were ideal relationship until Tyrion got married and Shaya got jealous. She cheated on him with Tywin and betrayed him in court. As a result, Tyrion strangled Shaya and shot his father with a crossbow.

27. Loras Tyrell and Cersei Lannister

Tywin tried to force his daughter to marry Loras, but Cersei threatened to reveal her secret to Jaime. The marriage never took place.

26. Margaery Tyrell and Joffrey Baratheon

Margaery managed to seduce Joffrey, but their relationship did not last long. Fearing for the fate of her granddaughter, Olenna Tyrell poisoned the king at his own wedding.

25. Sansa Stark and Lord Baelish

Littlefinger confessed his love to Sansa more than once, but mostly he used her for his own purposes. When Sansa realized this, Lord Baelish was sentenced to death.

24. Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister

The heroes were forced to marry in order to conclude an alliance between the South and the North. However, Sansa and Tyrion had nothing in common other than mutual respect.

23. Margaery Tyrell and Tommen Baratheon

The king sincerely fell in love with his wife, and when Cersei blew her up along with the Great Sept of Baelor, he jumped out of the window.

22. Margaery Tyrell and Renly Baratheon

Despite Renly's homosexual relationship with Loras Tyrell, Margaery got along well with her husband until his death.

21. Bronn and Lollis Stockworth

To bribe Tyrion's protector, Cersei arranged for his engagement to the noble and narrow-minded Lollis. Instead of marrying her, Bronn went with Jaime to Dorne to save Myrcella, because he promised the warrior a richer bride.

20. Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth

Jaime is devoted to his sister and hardly ever dreamed of Brienne. However, during the journey to King's Landing, there was an undeniable chemistry between the characters, and an intriguing bathroom scene made fans question the friendship component of their communication.

19. Theon Greyjoy and Ros

These heroes had a good time in Winterfell until Ros left for King's Landing and was killed by Joffrey.

18. Tormund and Brienne of Tarth

There is no relationship between the characters yet, but the very prospect of a romance between Tormund and Brienne is delightful.

17. Robert Baratheon and Lyanna Stark

Robert continued to love Lyanna even after her death. As revealed in season 7, his feelings were not mutual.

16. Catelyn Stark and Lord Baelish

The only woman Littlefinger loved was Catelyn. But his deep affection for her remained unrequited.

15. Daenerys Targaryen and Daario Naharis

A short and passionate romance broke out between Dany and Daario. He was left behind when the queen left Meereen, leaving her lover to keep order in the city.

14. Myrcella Baratheon and Tristan Martell

The engagement of Myrcella and Tristan was the work of Tyrion, nevertheless, the young people fell in love with each other. Unfortunately, their relationship did not continue. Ellaria poisoned Myrcella in revenge for Oberyn, and Tristana killed her daughter Nymeria.

13. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen

The heirs to the Iron Throne spent a night of love on their way to Winterfell, but have not yet learned of their close relationship. It is difficult to imagine how this news will affect their relationship.

12. Ramsey Bolton and Miranda

The union of Ramsey and Miranda turned out to be unusually strong, because they both had a passion for killing and torturing people. Nevertheless, after the death of his mistress, Ramsey fed her body to the dogs.

11. Gray Worm and Missandei

Missandei and Gray Worm have loved each other for the last 4 seasons and in the 7th they finally confessed their feelings.

10. Loras Tyrell and Renly Baratheon

Homosexual relationships were condemned by the inhabitants of Westeros. However, Loras and Renly despised social foundations. Their relationship was perfect until Renly was killed by enemies.

9. Sam Tarly and Lily

Sam took a liking to Craster's daughter and rescued her along with her son. Lily didn't seem to share his feelings at first, but Sam's devotion and his efforts to protect them eventually won her over.

8. Jorah Mormont and Daenerys Targaryen

For Daenerys, Ser Jorah fought in the fighting pits and defeated the incurable greyscale. After all the tests, he enjoys the undeniable trust of the queen. But now Mormont is more distant than ever from Dany, given her romance with Jon Snow.

7. Oberyn Martell and Ellaria Sand

One of the most passionate romances in Westeros ended tragically. After killing Oberyn in King's Landing, distraught with grief, Ellaria poisoned Myrcella out of revenge and in the end died herself in the dungeon of the Red Keep.

6. Robb and Talisa Stark

Out of love for Talisa, Robb refused to marry one of Walder Frey's daughters, breaking his promise to him. The result was a brutal massacre of the Starks at the Red Wedding.

5. Jon Snow and Ygritte

There was a lot of romance in the relationship of these heroes, and they had chances for a successful continuation. However, before Jon could make a truce with the wildlings, Ygritte died.

4. Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo

Although Viserys sold his sister to Drogo, the couple turned out to be quite harmonious. Daenerys loved her husband so much that she decided to revive him after death and named one of her dragons after him.

3. Cersei and Jaime Lannister

As brother and sister, Cersei and Jaime committed incest and conceived three children. However, after the queen's recent threats towards her brother, their relationship is on the verge of a split.

2. Catelyn and Eddard Stark

Catelyn and Neda Stark were connected by true love, mutual respect and 5 common children. Their union was the strongest and most solid in all the Seven Kingdoms.

1. Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen

The meeting of these heroes changed not only their lives, but also the history of Westeros. Prince Rhaegar annulled his marriage to Elia Martell, and Lyanna forgot about her engagement to Robert Baratheon. While the lovers were getting married, the abandoned groom revolted, mistakenly believing that his bride had been kidnapped. As a result, the entire Targaryen dynasty was destroyed, Rhaegar's name was posthumously tarnished, and his son Aegon turned into Ned Stark's bastard. Well, Lyanna and Rhaegar risked everything for love, and their short-lived but happy union can be called the most romantic and most tragic on our list.

There are spoilers throughout the article. By itself. Where without them?

Since the Targaryens were overthrown, Westeros has never been able to decide who rules it. For a relatively short time - only about fifteen years - Robert Baratheon ruled the Seven Kingdoms, but then he met a boar, and power passed into the hands of his officially recognized son.

Joffrey sat on the throne even less: he was poisoned at his own wedding shortly after his coronation. Then came the turn of his younger brother Tommen. And in both senses. First, the boy put on the crown, and then lost his life by jumping out of the window.

And by the end of the sixth season, their mother Cersei sat on the throne.

"May her reign be long," Maester Qyburn proclaimed at the coronation ceremony.

"Yeah, right now!" thought the spectators, taught by the Red Wedding and the court of the Seven. Indeed, given the trends of the series, it will be strange if Cersei sits on the throne at least until the end of next season. But then the question arises: who will take her place? And who will have the reins of the Seven Kingdoms when the series ends?

The Lannisters will remain on the throne

If we take into account the book and if it turns out that Cersei also takes the throne there, and Tommen dies, then after the death of Cersei, power will pass into the hands of her daughter Myrcella. The Dornish had previously insisted on this, who wanted to crown the girl in order to seize power in Westeros with her help.

But in the series, Myrcella has already died, and Cersei has no heirs left. And if she does not soon find herself a new husband to give birth to new heirs from him, then, most likely, the throne will go to ... Tyrion.

The logic here is this. Jaime Lannister is older than Tyrion, and, in theory, power should pass to him earlier. George Martin even once admitted to his agent Ralph Vicinanza that initially he really wanted to put the Kingslayer on the Iron Throne - Jaime would have simply killed all the other pretenders and blamed Tyrion for everything.

However, the current Jaime Lannister is already a deeply positive character. He doesn't want power. In addition, he is a member of the Royal Guard, which means that he has renounced all claims to the inheritance, cannot marry and have children.

In this way, power over Westeros will pass into the hands of Cersei's second brother, Tyrion. Worthy candidate. And he is on good terms with Daenerys. It is possible that, having enjoyed the victory, the Khaleesi will announce that Westeros is not enough for her, and will go to conquer the whole of Essos in order to eradicate slavery wherever it is. And she will leave Tyrion as her governor in the south of Westeros, as she left Daario Naharis as governor in Meereen. Jon Snow will then rule, probably in the north of Westeros.

There will be a restoration of the Targaryens

However, it is possible that things will turn out differently. In the next season, Daenerys will land in Westeros, defeat Cersei and declare herself the sole ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. The Khaleesi then learns that the northerners do not recognize her authority, travels to Winterfell to overthrow the King in the North, and thus meets Jon Snow. There, she will face the Others, help defeat them, after which, through the efforts of Bran, she learns that Jon is the son of her older brother Rhaegar Targaryen.

And if we assume that Rhaegar managed to marry John's mother, then Lord Snow will automatically become the direct heir to the throne. And here a conflict is possible between Daenerys and Jon. If none of them die during the war with the Others, then it is not clear which of these two positive characters will end up being so mean as to eliminate the other. However, probably, everything will do without rivalry.

It is not in vain that a three-headed dragon is drawn on the coat of arms of the Targaryens. This is a reference to Aegon the Conqueror and his two sisters and wives, Visenya and Rhaenys. It was this trinity that once conquered Westeros and began to rule it. Daenerys and Jon can repeat their fate by playing a wedding and sitting on the throne together. True, it will no longer be a three-headed, but a two-headed dragon.

In general, the entire "Game of Thrones" in this case will be a story about the restoration of the Targaryens.

The Tyrells take over

At the end of the sixth season, we were shown that Olenna Tyrell had colluded with the new rulers of Dorne and Varys in order to take revenge on Cersei, who killed Margaery, and Loras, and Mace. There is a chance that she will succeed. The only question is what will happen after that.

If you dream up, you can imagine how Olenna Tyrell herself sits down in an uncomfortable chair made of sharp swords. After all, her granddaughter was queen, and with no other candidates (assuming Olenna's efforts would run out of Lannisters altogether), she would at least be able to claim the title of regent under the Tyrell heir.

Arya and Gendry will rule Westeros

Not so much a plausible theory as a plot for fanfiction. We all remember how King Robert Baratheon's bastard, a young blacksmith named Gendry, escaped from Dragonstone. Since then, fans have been wondering when this guy will finally swim to shore and reappear in the series.

So, given that the whole North spat on the fact that Jon Snow was a bastard and proclaimed him king, nothing prevents them from spitting on the fact that Gendry is also a bastard and put him on the throne of the Seven Kingdoms by right of succession after Robert.

And given that he had a romantic relationship with Arya, perhaps this couple will play a wedding and rule Westeros together. After all, this is exactly what Robert Baratheon told Ned Stark in the very first season: “If Lyanna had not died, we would have become brothers. But even now it is not too late. I have a son and you have a daughter. My Joffrey and your Sansa will connect our homes, as Lyanna and I once wanted to do."

Who knew that instead of Joff and Sansa there would be Gendry and Arya.

Littlefinger and Sansa will rule the country

Once, as a child, Cersei and a friend went to the sorceress-seer Maggi-Toad. She predicted that Cersei would become queen, but then she would be overthrown by another, one that was younger and prettier. You can, of course, assume that we are talking about Daenerys, but Sansa Stark also falls under this description.

Both young and beautiful, and even in a difficult relationship with the main intriguer of the Seven Kingdoms - Petyr Baelish. Well, there is no doubt that Littlefinger dreams of power. And it is unlikely that next to him on the throne he will want to see anyone other than Sansa - a girl so similar to the young Catelyn Stark, the unrequited youthful passion for which Littlefinger carried through for many years.

* * *

There was a time when fans wanted to put even Hodor on the throne. But then Hodor was gone, as, indeed, Stannis, Tywin, Robb and a lot of other heroes. Valar Morghulis. All characters are mortal. This means that only the one who survives after the final battle with the Others will sit on the throne.

The White Walkers cannot fly, which means that Daenerys has the most chances, who will pour fire on them from heaven. We bet on it!

On June 26, the final, tenth, episode of the sixth season of Game of Thrones, one of the most important series, was released. recent years. There are two more seasons ahead, again ahead of George Martin's pen: he should release the sixth novel of the A Song of Ice and Fire saga no earlier than the winter of 2016, and the following episodes will be connected only indirectly to him.

The Village went on outdoor screening episode "Winds of Winter" in the Strelka yard and immediately after the final credits asked the viewers of the series to predict the events of the next season.

What happened in the sixth season finale

With the help of Cersei's wildfire, Lannister sets off an explosion that destroys the Great Sept and His Sparrow, who are in it during the trial, as well as Loras and Margaery Tyrell. King Tommen, locked in his quarters, witnesses the explosion and commits suicide.

Cersei becomes the new Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. In Winterfell, the Lords of the North declare Jon Snow King of the North. From Bran's vision, it becomes known that Jon is actually not Eddard Stark's bastard, but the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, that is, the grandson of the Mad King Aerys II and Daenerys' nephew.

At this time, the army of Daenerys on a huge fleet of Greyjoys is sent to Westeros.

The new series was obvious, but not in everything. What struck me most was the suicide of King Tommen. I wonder if Daenerys will marry Jon Snow in the new season? The series ended on the fact that she must intermarry with someone for the sake of an alliance, and, in my opinion, Jon Snow is the most obvious candidate for this.

Now most of the kingdoms are controlled by women, but that's okay. I think it will all work out in the end. It is now fashion trend: a lot of films about women are being shot, one of the main directors of the series is also a woman. So it's all right.

I think the writers and directors in the new season will still depend on the advice of George Martin, so, most likely, they will not dare to shoot a bad ending - there will be a happy ending. For me, the bad ending is if the walkers win.

No one, thank God, had time to spoil anything for me, and I didn’t read anything about the series in advance on purpose. That being said, I've watched the entire season over the last two days. The suicide of the king was the most unexpected after all - he did not at all imagine that he would die in this particular series. However, I guessed that Jon Snow is the son of Robert Baratheon. (This is not so. In fact, Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen. - Approx. ed.).

My favorite characters are Granny from House Tyrell. (Olenna Tyrell. - Approx. ed.) and the girl who changed her face is Arya Stark. The dominance of women in the series does not scare me. Its creators keep up with the times, because in our time women also rule. When we have men in government, the gray cardinals are mostly women.

It seems to me that in the seventh season the main battle will be between Jon Snow and Daenerys to find out which of them will take the Iron Throne. Someone thinks that the Mother of Dragons should take the throne, but I think that it should remain with Snow.

An undesirable ending for me is if Cersei Lannister or, for example, her brother remains on the throne. It would also be unfortunate if Jon Snow and Daenerys, as some have suggested, would cooperate.

And, of course, it's very stupid if they suddenly decide to resurrect Cersei's first son, Joffrey. But it would be cool to resurrect Ned Stark.

My favorite character is definitely Cersei. Because negative characters are much more interesting than positive ones, they are always more open, more room for maneuver.

In the new series, I didn’t guess a single turn, but I was a little upset that all the negative heroes were killed (everything still rests on them). There was no one left, except for the same Cersei. Maybe in the new season at least someone new will appear.

What will happen next? Now, of course, the White Walkers will come - that's the negative force that we are really looking forward to - and all the most interesting things will begin. There will probably be an epic battle with Cersei, because she remains the main negative link that everyone will fight against. I don't think anyone will be resurrected. Suppose Ramsey Bolton was eaten by dogs - there is nothing to resurrect there.

The bad ending for me will be the finale, in which they kill Cersei and good reigns, it's so boring. Or maybe if the white walkers kill everyone. Although this will also be a relative happy ending, only for the white walkers.

I have so many favorite characters that I can't decide right away. If you can name the top 2, then it will be Arya Stark and Cersei.

Predicting the next season is difficult, but it will be interesting when everyone comes together, when the three-eyed raven finally reaches his home, Arya will return. Of course, there will be a battle with the White Walkers. It seems to me that the main battle will not be internecine, but with external forces.

Cersei will definitely not become the queen of Westeros - that would be really unexpected for me. The scriptwriters need to do not make everyone look and be touched, but go through the very tin.

Alexey, Artur, Katya, Dima

motion director, graphic designer, industrial designer and copywriter respectively

Alexei: Regarding the fact that Cersei took the throne of another kingdom, I can say one thing: the feminists are attacking, but that's okay.

Arthur: Naturally, all the men have already been killed, who else to rule. War takes the best.

Alexei: I personally guessed that in this series Tommen would die. He did not know, however, how, but his death was inevitable.

Dima: The coolest moment in the series was when Cersei blew up the Septa. It's great that she finally found this hellish fire and guessed to put barrels under the building.

Alexei: No, it was understandable, because in the past episodes they talked about this fire all the time. As for the upcoming season, it is obvious that there will be a big war. Only Lannisters will remain against all.

Katia: Arya is going to marry Dog! I'm serious, that would be a really interesting twist.

Dima: I think Jon Snow should marry Sansa Stark if he's not Ned Stark's bastard after all.

Alexei: As for Littlefinger's claims: I don't think he will succeed. Even when all the civil strife passes, he will not cope. He just has no idea who he will have to fight (I mean walkers).

Katia: Perhaps Littlefinger will become a white walker himself!

Alexei: It will be a bad end for me if Cersei wins everyone.

Arthur: And I'm ready for anything. Whatever happens, it won't surprise me. I'll look and say only "meh".

Dima: It seems to me that the bad ending is the death of Daenerys. And it doesn't matter if someone kills her or eats a dragon. The very essence of Game of Thrones is to show that every power, when it changes, does not bring anything new. As a result, everything again gets on the same rails, and ordinary people protest against everyone. The series shows that even if everything ends badly, it's okay.

restaurant owner

My favorite character is the chief of all the dead, the chief white walker. He is the favourite. I will say more - for one next party, I chose a white walker costume for myself. This is the most complex of the characters, his inner world is the hardest to show. It is not clear how to portray emptiness, despite the fact that, at first glance, in Moscow they are used to it.

For this series, a bad ending is generally in the order of things, everyone is ready for this. And the only "bad end" that can happen if everyone fantasizes the ending is much more colorful than it actually is - it will be terrible. As if you had a dream and, having achieved it, it becomes obvious to you that it is not at all as difficult as it seemed.

Therefore, let the ending be so interesting that it will break all the records of Daria Dontsova!
