With this powerful program, you can easily put your music collections in order on your computer without much difficulty. After starting development, you can simply organize all available CD media, music files of different formats into one single library. What music players I just did not use (listed in the order of use):
  • Windows Mmedia Player (in the days of dialup, software was not available)
  • Winamp (at the beginning of the 21st century, all my friends had it, there was no alternative except for some self-propelled gun, the software was still difficult to get)
  • Aimp (very convenient search, work with a playlist, Winamp does it with a bang)
  • iTunes (installed as an experiment, inconvenient, so I quickly refused, I think if I had an ipod, I would have used it)
  • JetAudio (I switched on the advice of a friend, the sound is chic, especially in films, it’s damn uncomfortable, that’s why I dumped it. Still, be sure to try watching a movie with a high-quality sound road in it, you’ll like it)
  • foobar2000 (great sound, work with playlists, search - everything is cool, but the library is not very good to work with)
  • and yet, after all, I chose MediaMonkey.

What he really is

All screenshots have different visual design and different bookmarks are open.

Mini Player:

And why did I even climb there?

I have accumulated a lot of darkness, there were a lot of old tracks without tags, a lot of songs were in self-made assemblies (heard somewhere, got shazam and threw it into a folder ala "my assembly 9999"). Such tracks were downloaded mainly from contact and, as a rule, had no cover art or tags. The moment came when I wanted to put things in order in all this mess, neatly put everything into folders, add tags and covers. This is how I stumbled upon MediaMonkey (before that, it had already been recommended to me).

Advantages I have found:

  • Scrobbling support with Last.FM
  • Convenient search. According to the media library, playlist, collection, and even in Google))
  • UpnP/DLNA Sharing
  • Tag editing, very easy, very fast (bulk and whatever)
  • Convenient fitting to just one standard
  • There is a rating system
  • Supports WMP (Windows Media Player), iTunes (import) libraries
  • Synchronization with the player
  • Accessing the Internet through a proxy

Let's look inside

So, Tools - settings - library - file control - specify folders with our music(it seems that this window will fly out after the first launch and the music folder will initially be in the user's directory)

This is where I ticked the box for myself. scan at startup". It would also be possible to set and " continuously", but I have an x64 system (the program is not adapted for it) and therefore scanning loads half the processor. So continuous scanning had to be disabled.

Proxy

I put the appropriate checkboxes and entered the proxy data. I want to note that the standard problem with login and password is also present here, but it is not very critical, I will explain: even if you specify a login and password, then when you "import tags" in the built-in browser, pictures will not load and a window will pop up "Enter your username and password", in Windows this is only possible if you have a Windows proxy server, and if 3proxy(like me - it's useless), it's easier to disable authentication via login and password and do it, for example, via ip. Despite this, when importing the cover, everything imports fine.

Scrobbling

Next I downloaded scrobbler for last.fm from here. There are no problems with add-ons, just run the installation file, restart the program and all the add-ons are in place.

Let's move on to the settings: Tools - Settings - Last.Fm service We enter the login and password, I set the following parameters for myself:

And on the tab Submission Rules:

Working with the library

It's time to clean up your audio library

For batch tidying up: Tools - settings - library - auto-organization add a sorting rule and a folder in which the files will be sorted. I did not trust this, but most likely it will sort according to the tags already in the files.

For manual tidying up, I use the following algorithm.

1. We come across a file without a cover, lying in the wrong place, without tags (or with an incomplete list of them) and add the main ones.

The main ones will be Song Title, Artist, Album Artist

If the file has no tags at all: ..

There we indicate on what principle our name is built: in my case: <Исполнитель>\<Год>ZeFein\<Название>-<Исполнитель> Parameters that will change - highlighted in yellow

If there are not enough tags (one or two), it is easier to do it manually, as a rule, this item"Album Artist"if this item is filled in, this will significantly speed up the search for information on Amazon. This field in 99% of cases will be identical to the field" Executor", just click on it with the mouse and it will be filled.

2. We are looking for information on the Internet.

For this: right click on it - auto-tag from the file name... The program finds options, then you have to select the desired album from the search results (if it was defined incorrectly) and indicate which items you want to rewrite (by ticking the appropriate checkboxes). Everything that will be replaced is highlighted in yellow. Click: Auto-tag I have the following settings (I recommend you do the same)

Z.Y. cover titles are generated by ourselves.

You can still delve into the settings, and then click OK. Waiting for the changes to apply. Click to close.

3. We send the file to the orderly ranks of our audio library.

After the file has all the tags, therefore, the paths will all be written correctly.

If everything suits - click OK.

At the same time, you can safely listen to this song, playback will not stop for a second. Exactly the same operations can be done with the whole album.

This method is great for foreign performers (those on amazon), for Russian-speaking performers and little-known ones, unfortunately, this cannot be done. Therefore, you can install a plugin that will have Russian performers in its database.

I tested these:

  • MusicBrainz Tagger (looking for Russian-language songs, but there are problems with covers)
  • Napster Tagger 1.0 (Russians don't care what it's good for)
  • Discogs Tagger (probably the best option, supports searching for Russian artists, very fast)

Synchronization with the player

MediaMonkey supports synchronization with players in various modes. It also syncs with ipod.

I have a Cowon S9 player, it can be used either in USB mode or as an MTP device, I use it as MTP for Last.FM scrobbling. MediaMonkey just supports working with such devices. To support MTP devices, the following is added to MediaMonkey.ini:

The synchronization setting here is also very wide:
  • synchronization with playlist, catalog
  • synchronization of randomly selected tracks
  • taking into account priority (rating) during synchronization
  • automatic library update with newer versions of the song on the player
  • deleting left tracks from the player (which are not in the synchronization list) with the ability to exclude the folders you need
  • transcode music to another format, bitrate
  • split into different folder audiobooks, music, classics, etc.
  • separate settings for covers, tags

Media Monkey- an advanced music organizer that allows you to put in order any music collection on your hard drive, audio CDs or in local network. The program automatically finds and removes incomplete, incorrect or duplicate files, supports most types of conversion, burning music from a CD in various formats.

MediaMonkey will be useful to anyone who loves to listen to music, but is tired of creating playlists, manually searching for the right song and distributing audio files into the right folders.

The music organizer has a built-in player with an incredibly user-friendly interface and support for all modules. If the user wants to download MediaMonkey and later burn their favorite songs to a disc, this can be done directly from the program thanks to its integration with Nero.

Features of MediaMonkey:

  • Music tags are edited manually and automatically. To do this, the program uses data from the freedb.org database.

  • A rich selection of skins, various scripts and plugins that make working with MediaMonkey even more understandable and convenient.

  • The presence of a built-in audio player with a good equalizer and DSP effects.

Music can be treated differently. You can love it, hate it, ignore it, be inspired by it or tune yourself in the right way; you can enhance feelings, emotions, impressions; you can be angry, hate, or vice versa - be in complete harmony with yourself and the world around you. One way or another, almost any aspect of life can be influenced by music.

I love music and can hardly imagine myself without it (as I hope you do too). Now such specialized devices as music players have practically disappeared - they have remained purely niche solutions, mainly intended either for playing sports or for shaking money out of the wallets of the so-called "audiophiles", most of them rich and wealthy citizens.

And who ousted them from the market? That's right, our beloved mobile phone. Today I would like to tell you about the next four programs, this time, as you might guess, for listening to audio files.

As I said, there are mastodons in almost any type of program, and this direction is no exception - you've probably heard of Poweramp, WinAMP, JetAudio, Neutron MP, doubleTwist, MixZing and PlayerPro. If, for some reason, none of these solutions suits you (design, usability, some other criteria), then perhaps this article will come in handy for you as well as possible.

Looking ahead, I’ll say that I didn’t find any difference in sound quality in them (and the developers don’t seem to promise anything like that). I also note that below there will be programs that stand out against the general background of the bulk, but you should not look for super-tricky media combines in them with a million and one presets for the equalizer and three hundred more settings, functions and other things (by the way, in none of which there is no gapless playback, this factor should be taken into account). And yes, you should not pay attention to the English interface in the program - I have it as a system one, that's all.

So let's go.

Download on Google Play

The first program will be the well-known MediaMonkey player for desktop PC users, which appeared relatively recently for Android, and just a month or two ago stepped into the open spaces of the store. Google Play. On the this moment the application is in open beta testing, so various bugs and annoying errors may occur, however, I did not notice any such problems.

The interface of the program is minimalistic in the truest sense of the word - there are practically no graphic elements here, only a black background, holo-like section icons and thin dividing lines.

The home screen contains the main navigation window. Here you can choose the sorting method for music (by artists, albums, composers, genres, playlists; display of all tracks available on the device is supported). Separate items are “audiobooks”, “podcasts” (it is not possible to download from external sources, only local data), “video”, streaming via UPnP and “sync now” (media libraries with desktop version) - the first difference from other programs in today's release . Although I promised at the beginning not to offer "combines", I did not keep my word. However, we will leave the possibility of working with video for some other time.

Selecting an album, you will see a list of songs in it, a picture of the cover information, such as the total duration of the "record" and the number of tracks in it. The top bar has a "shuffle all" button, "search" and a menu.

The main playback window is a large album cover, three navigation keys and a progress bar (navigation by tap, of course, is supported). Clicking on the cover will bring up two pop-up bars at the top and bottom ("score", "shuffle all" and "repeat one/all tracks"). A gesture from right to left will bring up a translucent window with the lyrics of the song, if any are included in tags (the latter, by the way, can be changed directly from the program).

Download on Google Play (free) Download on Google Play (key)

The oldest player from today's selection, which was born last year, managed to undergo some graphical changes in the interface, became faster, more stable and, to be honest, even more pleasing to the eye (although there is also a standard navigation method for especially demanding users).

At the first start, the program will guide you through a more than complete and understandable tutorial that clearly shows how to work with this program, and at the end it will offer you to download album covers - all or just missing ones. I would like to note that this player makes it better than the rest, including the "grands" - this is understandable, because the whole program is based on them.

Its main feature is an interface built on the layout of album covers into a beautiful collage. At first glance, such a solution may seem impractical, but in reality everything is very convenient and, in my opinion, surpasses the standard sorting alphabetically by “column”. The collage lends itself to scaling with a “pinch” back and forth, and at a great distance all the images are hidden (it becomes impossible to see them anyway), and their places are occupied by names.

It makes no sense to list all the options, otherwise they are quite ordinary - a simple five-band equalizer with several presets and the ability to set values manually, a couple of sound filters and several effects. By going to the settings (which, by the way, are quite extensive), you can set up scrobbling in Last.fm, select appearance lock screen widget, limit scanning of folders to only selected ones and set best quality album images for the sake of performance.

The main playback window offers a slightly larger number of control buttons available. A long press on an album art will bring up a dialog menu with a lot of options (such as managing a playlist or grouping albums by title).
