Volumetric paper flowers on the wall using templates

Master class with photos of all stages of flower creation

  1. We will need designer thick paper in two colors: red and white. The paper size is 102 x 70 cm. You will also need a metal ruler along which you will have to work with a breadboard knife. And, as usual, scissors and a glue gun.

2. Take a petal template drawn on paper, with a petal length of 15 cm and a width of 16.5 cm. The horizontal stripe at the bottom of the petal measures 7.5 cm.

3. Carefully cut out the template with scissors.

4. The template is cut along the borders without much difficulty.

5. Place the cut out template on a red sheet of paper and cut a strip according to its width (with a little margin).

6. Then we place the petal template on the strip along the height and cut off the square. Place the cut square on top of the strip and cut the required number of squares.

7. Place the template on top of all the stacked squares and secure it with a clothespin.

8. It’s easy to cut out 5 red petals at a time. The first row will require 7-8 petals and they are already cut out.

9. Measure the width of the second strip according to the template and cut it off. One strip for the petals of the 1st row will not be enough.

10. From one of the squares, cut out a red circle with a diameter of 14 cm. This will be the center of the flower. We place the circle on the table and try on two petals with the opposite arrangement. The petals extend onto the circle within 1 cm. We mark this size on the circle for gluing with glue.

11. The flower should be about 40 cm in diameter.

12. Now you need to cut each petal of the first row in half to the center, as in the photo.

13. And now, using a glue gun, we will create the volume of each petal.

14. Take a glue gun and apply a thin strip of glue along the length of the cut and glue the cut parts together, overlapping. In this way we give a three-dimensional shape to all the petals of the first row.

We form voluminous flowers for the petals of the 1st row

15. Take a glue gun and apply glue to the back side of the bottom of the volumetric petal. Press the part of the petal coated with glue onto the circle, as in the photo.

16. Repeat the same steps with the second petal and glue it to the circle, overlapping the first petal.

17. We continue to glue and assemble the volumetric petals of the first row.

18. The first row of paper flower petals is ready.

Assembling the petals of the 2nd row

19. Draw a petal template for the 2nd row on paper. Its dimensions are: height 13 cm, width 14 cm and at the base the horizontal width measures 6 cm.

20. Now we perform all the same actions when forming the 1st row: we place the template of the petal of the 2nd row on a sheet of paper, cut off a strip of the required width, put the template on the strip and cut into squares.

21. Use a paper clip to secure the template to the stack of squares and cut out the petals for the 2nd row.

22. Cut the petals of the 2nd row in half to the center, apply glue along the edge of the cut and glue with an overlap. The volumetric petals of the 2nd row are ready. Glue each petal into the central circle of the flower, overlapping each other.

23. The second circle of petals is glued.

Assembly of petals of the 3rd row

24. Draw a petal template for the third row on a piece of paper with the following dimensions: petal height 11 cm, width 12.5 cm with base length 6 cm.

25. Cut out the petals for the 3rd row and glue them to the central circle, performing all the same actions when creating the 1st and 2nd rows. Row 3 is ready and it consists of 5 petals.

Formation of the middle of the flower (stamens)

26. Volumetric flowers with a center look more original. On a sheet of white paper we measure 16 cm. Let’s say in advance that the height of the stamens is intended to be 8 cm.

27. Cut a strip of white paper 16 cm wide.

29. In order not to injure the table, we place a sheet of thick paper, place a white strip on it and, using an iron ruler and a breadboard knife, cut the strips within 7-8 mm from both edges of the strip. The thinner you cut the strips, the more delicate the middle will be. A maximum of 0.5 cm is allowed.

30. On the red stripe we also cut very narrow strips. Can be cut with a sharp stationery knife.

31. The paper is double-sided, so we glue both cut strips along the edge on one side.

33. And we glue the second edge of both strips together, it will be a little more difficult due to the different widths.

34. This is what the glued cut strips will look like from the side.

35. Apply glue from a gun and press the edges of the strips tightly.

36. Once again, apply glue to the edges of the glued strips and press them together again, as in the photo.

37. It will be a little difficult, but you should cope with it without any problems.

38. Then, like this, we will twist the middle of the flower with white and red stamens, periodically applying drops of glue. It is very important that the base of the flower is level.

39. Before gluing the center, you need to think about how the flower will be attached to the wall: using double-sided tape or a wire loop.

40. We pierce the floral wire (or another) not in the middle of the flower, where it is thin, but where the petals are glued, right through them in two opposite places of the circle, slightly stretch it and drip glue into the holes with the wire.

41. Apply glue to the lower part of the center with stamens.

42. And press with our palms in the central circle of the flower.

43. The middle is glued. The flower turned out to be large and voluminous.

You have learned how to create three-dimensional flowers with your own hands using templates.

Video about how to easily and simply make a large paper flower

Volumetric flowers on the walls of a festively decorated room lift your spirits and evoke approval.

To make beautiful paper flowers, you will need different types of paper, scissors and good instructions on how to make a paper flower. For example, one of the video lessons offered in our selection. No oral stories or drawings can replace videos - such master classes are understandable and can be easily repeated with your own hands.

The art of making paper flowers is attractive to both adults and children. There are lessons that are simple enough for a child to master, and an adult can make a bouquet of flowers out of paper that will decorate the room for a long time. Choose a lesson that suits you, select the necessary materials and start creating.

To make a paper rose, you will need a sheet of red paper, green paper for the leaves, and a skewer for the stem. And, of course, scissors and glue. A sheet of paper is marked into strips the width of a ruler, approximately 2.5 cm. Next, these strips are cut off from the sheet. Two strips should be enough for one rose. Each pair of strips is glued to each other.

Next, the tape is bent at a corner and begins to wind, forming petals bent back. The end of the tape is glued - the rose is ready. For each rose, identical leaves are cut out of green paper. A skewer is glued into the middle of the rose, and leaves bent in half are also placed on it with glue.

To make paper flowers with your own hands, we will need colored paper, scissors, pencil and glue. You will also need a round object, which is applied to a sheet of paper and outlined with a pencil. The resulting circle is cut out, then a spiral is cut out of it. Next, this entire spiral is wound around the pencil, starting from the outer edge.

The resulting roll is glued on all sides and glued with its end to the round center of the spiral. If you now unravel the roll a little, it will look like a small rose. Slightly turn the edges of the spiral outward, so they will look even more like petals.

To make a tulip from paper, you will need a sheet of red paper measuring 15 x 15 centimeters and a sheet of green paper measuring 15 x 8 cm. To make the tulip itself from a red sheet you need:

  • fold the sheet diagonally in two directions successively;
  • fold the sheet into a rectangle, also in two directions;
  • fold the triangle, bending its sides inward;
  • bend the edges of the resulting triangle.

Further bends are better visible on the screen. The paper triangles are folded, tucked into each other, and eventually the edges of the corners are folded back to form tulip petals. A tube is rolled out of green paper, which will be the stem of the flower. Leaves are glued to it.

Video lesson:

To make flowers you will need sheets of green, pink and yellow paper, scissors and a stick of hard glue. Take a strip of green paper 2 cm wide and coat it with glue, after which it is rolled diagonally into a tube. This will be the stem of the flower. A strip of yellow paper is folded several times and small cuts are made on it.

The strips between the cuts are folded to the side, and the entire yellow tape is wound around the stem. This is how the yellow stamens of the flower are obtained. From a square of pink paper measuring 6 x 6 cm, a small bag is formed with the edges bent outward - this is the flower petal itself. Leaves are cut out of green paper and glued to the stem.

An interesting 3D postcard can be made from paper. When it opens, voluminous paper flowers unfold inside it. To make it you need a sheet of colored cardboard, seven paper squares measuring 9x9 cm, and, of course, scissors, glue and a felt-tip pen. Flowers are cut out from white paper. To do this, fold a square of paper three times diagonally.

On the resulting small triangle, draw a semicircle and cut off the excess paper according to the markings. The result is a flower with wavy edges. We make seven of these flowers. One of the petals is cut out from each flower. Next, the flowers are painted, except for one petal adjacent to the cut out one. How to glue flowers is shown in the video.

Video lesson:

This is a very simple way to make beautiful flowers from colored paper. Roses can be any color, even if they are not found in nature. To make a rose, you need to take four paper squares and fold them diagonally three times. Make a semicircular cut in the resulting triangle and cut off the tip of the sharp top.

Unfold the leaves that make eight-petalled rosettes. In the first rosette one petal is cut out, in the second - two, in the third - three and in the fourth half of the petals are cut off. Next, the edges of the cutouts are connected and glued together, forming three-dimensional structures. Cut out petals will also be used.

Video lesson:

To make large flowers from paper, you need to use five sheets of A4 paper, with which you need to do the following operations:

  • cut a square from each sheet;
  • fold the square diagonally and bend the corners of the resulting triangle to its apex;
  • straighten the bent corners;
  • The corners are folded several times, and then the structure is glued into a bag, inside of which there are several folds of paper.

The bags are glued to each other, and you get a large lush flower with a beautiful center, into which you can glue a stem or hang it on a thread.

Video lesson:

To make a rose, you will use a red A4 sheet and part of a green sheet for a stem with leaves. We cut out four squares measuring 10 x 10 cm from red paper. Each square is folded diagonally, then again and again, that is, each one is folded three times. On the resulting triangle, mark the required petal shape with a pencil and cut it out using scissors according to the markings.

The first triangle you cut out is the template for cutting out the rest. We unfold four eight-petal blanks. For the first, one petal is cut out, leaving a strip for gluing, for the second, two, for the third, three, and for the fourth, 4. On all blanks, the petals are curled.

The blanks are glued together with the outer petals and become voluminous.

The procedure for making paper daisies:

  • we wrap a strip of green paper around a toothpick to form a stem;
  • on a strip of yellow paper folded in four, make small cuts on both sides;
  • fold a strip of white paper and a cut strip of yellow paper like an accordion;
  • We tie the middle of the accordion with thread;
  • round the ends of the petals;
  • glue the accordion onto the stem and straighten the petals, which form a two-tier structure with a yellow insert in the middle.

The origami paper flower is ready. By making several of these flowers, you will get a wonderful bouquet of bright and beautiful daisies.

Having corrugated paper of different colors, you can make beautiful and lush flowers from corrugated paper, the creation sequence of which is shown in the video tutorial. A strip of several layers of paper is folded like an accordion so that a neat square is obtained.

Two holes are pierced in its center with a needle, a wire is threaded through them and twisted. On the square, a compass is used to mark a regular circle along which a circle is cut. Small cuts are made along the perimeter, giving terry to future petals. Each layer of petals is crushed upward, resulting in a lush double flower.

Spring is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to take care of the appropriate decor for your home, office or classroom. We suggest using a variety of flower patterns as decoration that you make yourself from corrugated or any other colored paper. Moreover, making paper flowers with your own hands is quite simple.

The flowers and compositions shown in the photo may seem too complicated to make at first glance, especially if you are still new to needlework. However, everything will turn out to be much simpler, you just need to stock up on the necessary materials and tools and get started! Step by step you will see this.

Let's start with simple options that are easy to do even for beginners.

Tools and materials for paper crafts

For the first craft you will need scissors, glue, a round pencil and colored paper - green for the leaves, and the color you need (red, orange, pink, yellow) for the petals of your future flower. In the photo you can see the manufacturing process, and despite its simplicity, the craft turns out very beautiful.

The next flower is even easier to make, however, to develop comprehensive skills, we recommend doing this work too, especially since the result of your efforts will be worthy.

You will need:

  • soft wire,
  • colored paper,
  • tape (transparent and colored),
  • buttons of the appropriate size and color,
  • thick colored paper (suitable glossy magazine pages, notebook covers, etc.).

The whole simple process is visible in the photo:

Paper aster

Developing the theme of the first flower, let's do something more complex, for example aster, which also looks very good. To do this, cut out blanks from red, orange and/or pink paper, as shown in the figure. Each blank should be slightly smaller in size so that the resulting voluminous flower head is obtained. The layers are glued together with any suitable glue (hard or PVA) and then a piece of wire is threaded through them - the future stem, which is pasted over with green paper or colored tape. Glue the leaves to the stem, fill the middle (yellow plasticine, a piece of foam rubber, a colored cotton ball, etc.).

DIY paper calla lilies

Calla lilies- very delicate and beautiful flowers that are good to form into bouquets. Japanese craftsmen offer a simple and very successful way to form a flower, which requires soft wire, colored paper, green tape or paper for finishing the wire stem. Having made the required quantity, form a bouquet.

Instructions: paper flower garland

A flower garland also looks good in the interior, which can be hung either horizontally with a slight sag or vertically by hanging several of these garlands of different lengths. To do this, string flower balls made from any type of colored paper that you have on hand onto a strong colored thread (or vice versa, transparent fishing line, as you prefer).

To create such a ball, you need to repeatedly fold a colored sheet as shown in the picture, then fasten it in the center of the resulting multilayer strip in a suitable way (usually tied with thread) and trim the edges with scissors, giving them a round shape. We unfold (fluff) the flower and string it on a thread or fishing line.

Create a lily of the valley or geocinth

The next paper flower can be called lily of the valley, And hyacinth, since in its finished form it resembles both. Personally, it reminds me more of hyacinth, but let’s not get hung up on the name, it’s better to stretch our fingers and get to work.

Here you will have to tinker a little longer, but there should not be any difficulties. Everything is clearly visible in the picture, we only note that in order for the strips cut on the sheet to curl, you need to run scissors (with the correct side) over them, pressing quite firmly. To make the flower fluffy and curly, we wrap the blanks onto a stick covered with green paper as tightly as possible, starting from the top, coating the “stem” with glue.

In the second photo the option is somewhat simpler, the inflorescence is made according to the principle of green leaves from the first option:

Corrugated paper color options

There are many options for making paper flowers, but most of them have many similar features, such as modularity. If you have made the models we suggested above, or already have good needlework skills, the selection of photos below will help you replenish your collection of crafts and adequately decorate your room. Good luck!
