The book "The Ancient World. The Complete Encyclopedia is an interesting format of children's popular science literature. Formally, it deals with the history of the Ancient World from the Stone Age to Rome inclusive: life, culture, architecture, crafts, military affairs, archaeological finds, historical heritage. But for each historical period there are illustrated instructions on how to do something characteristic of the material culture of the time in question with your own hands. The move is unexpected and interesting. History from the level of abstract knowledge suddenly becomes personal experience in the practical experience of the reader. There is a different quality of mastering the material, in which it will become more difficult for the "fomenkas" and other Ren TV to fool people's heads. On the other hand, it is simply interesting, even for an adult, to create ceramic dishes with their own hands using the technology used before the invention of the potter's wheel (44-45):
