Healing springs do not lose their effect when the seasons change, so the thermal resorts of Italy are in no less demand in winter than in summer.

In order not to get bored between procedures and to consolidate the effect of treatment, it is better to take into account the seasonality and features of a particular resort.

Prices for treatment and rest

The cost of rest and treatment depends on the program and the resort itself, where you are going, as well as on the length of stay.

The minimum course of treatment is a week, but usually doctors recommend spending at least 14-15 days in a sanatorium in order for the treatment to be as effective as possible.

If you prefer low prices, great food and a unique atmosphere, rather than luxury and comfort, then the ski resorts in Italy are made for you. Here, unlike similar recreation centers in France, Switzerland and Austria, the organizers and animators focus on the festive mood and all kinds of entertainment events, and leave sports and physical activity in the background. Excellent living conditions, a high level of service and stunning views make Italian ski resorts one of the best, and therefore popular in the world. Another nice advantage of the Italian ski resorts is the relatively low prices, which are much lower than those set in other European countries. Forget about Eastern Europe and even Andorra: for a small amount of money spent on purchasing a ticket to an Italian resort, you will get a lot of impressions and pleasant memories. The stunning beauty of the landscapes will not leave anyone indifferent. You can choose exactly the ski area that you think suits you best. And there are plenty to choose from: 12 zones that cover areas of thousands of kilometers. In the west of the country there are such popular Italian ski resorts as Aosta, Courmayeur and Cervinia, and in the east you will find Madonna Di Campiglio, Val di Fassa, Val Gardena and Bormio. Snow-covered alpine slopes, amazing mountain nature and traditional Italian hospitality create a unique holiday atmosphere, so you will want to return to the ski resorts of Italy again and again. Ski slopes and slopes of any complexity, interconnected by cable cars, allow both beginner skiers and professional athletes to appreciate all the delights of winter recreation.

Cervinia

It is located in the northwest of the country, on the border with Switzerland. Located at an altitude of more than two thousand meters, the resort of Cervinia is characterized by a long winter season and a wide variety of ski slopes for any level of skiing. The majestic mountains of Cervinia Monte Rosa, Breithorn, Matterhorn and Kastore protect the valley from cold winds and create favorable conditions for practicing a wide variety of ski sports. Ski tours to Cervinia also allow you to visit the neighboring Swiss resort of Zermatt, which is also very popular with tourists. At your service - about two hundred kilometers of modern ski and flat slopes, interconnected convenient system lifts. You will have an unforgettable experience skiing down the long, fifteen-kilometer slope of Gran Pista. From December to the end of May, the resorts of Cervinia are covered with a dense layer of snow, but thanks to the unique natural glaciers, ski holidays in Cervinia are possible even in summer. Cervinia is far from the most beautiful Italian resort: there are often ugly buildings that spoil the whole view. However, this place has no equal when it comes to sports entertainment. Numerous races of skiers and snowboarders are constantly held here. different levels skill. Sometimes it seems that they ride here without stopping for lunch and sleep. In Cervinia, there is the famous red descent Ventina (Ventina) with a height of 4000 meters. The resort has a developed tourist infrastructure with comfortable hotels, numerous bars, restaurants and discos. With the true hospitality of the inhabitants of the mountains, you will come across if you go to relax in the four-star Bucaneve Hotel. The staff here wears traditional costumes, and every room breathes antique. Another advantage of this hotel, of course, is its location: the nearest ski lift can be reached in less than 5 minutes. A week of living here will cost about 1160 euros.

Courmayeur

It is located in the area of Val da Osta, which is sometimes called "under heaven". There the highest mountains of Europe rest against the sky - the majestic Mont Blanc (4807 m) and Monte Rosa (4634 m). Immersed in the greenery of coniferous forests, the winter resort of Courmayeur, located at the foot of Mont Blanc, provides truly royal skiing opportunities. the charm of a traditional alpine town. After an active holiday, it is pleasant to walk along the narrow streets of the historic center of Courmayeur, between the rows of beautiful stone houses that have not changed their appearance since the time of Napoleon Bonaparte. The ski resorts of Courmayeur and Chamonix in France form a huge unified international ski area in the French Alps. A network of 100 km of slopes is a real expanse for athletes and amateurs. The slopes are mostly of medium difficulty, but there are also "black" slopes. There is an opportunity for night skiing in the valley. The skiing area is divided into two slopes: the left (northeast) - Checrouit (Chekruit), where the tracks of medium difficulty are mainly laid, and the right (northwest) - Val Veny (Val Veni) - with black lines. You can climb the slopes from the places Dolonne (Dolonne) and Entreves (Entreves). The trails run through wooded areas. There is always plenty of sun. Skiing is a pleasure. For intermediate skiers, ski tours in Courmayeur are just right - here they have complete expanse. Beginning skiers will find it quite difficult here. There are not many easy trails. For them, the ideal place to ski is the area at the top of Mot Chetif (Mot Shetif), 2343 m. For professionals, the resort is a bit boring. The three-star Bouton d’Or provides its customers with spacious rooms, a large parking lot, and also boasts a good location: there are a lot of restaurants near the hotel for every taste. The cost for a week of living in this place is about 840 euros.

One of the most remote ski resorts in Europe. The road here from Innsbruck at best will be three hours. And we are not even talking about Italian airports located even further away. However, the long trip to Livigno is worth it because of the well-equipped pistes, low prices and safe snow cover. The village is located 10 kilometers from a mountain road that ends at the foot of a 1816-meter mountain called Little Tibet, located near the border with Switzerland. Numerous slopes originate here, from which stunning views open up. Every year, new lifts and slopes appear in Livigno, new hotels open. To date, trails of medium difficulty prevail here. It is also worth noting that in December Livigno hosts a traditional ski marathon (35 kilometers). In addition to the numerous advantages of this resort, it is worth highlighting the fact that it is duty free. It seems that prices have frozen at the level of the Napoleonic times. Winter holidays in Livigno are also the world of Italian freestyle and a paradise for snowboard fans. Its wide groomed slopes are perfect for these sports. As for the downhill skiing in Livigno, the pros will appreciate the Val Federa on the other side of the ridge. Here they are waiting for spacious snow fields and unexplored routes. We recommend using the services of instructors! Intermediate skiers can be advised to plan their ski holidays in Livigno as follows. A funicular rises to a height of 2797 m, from here the red runs start, with a fairly good relief, but not particularly difficult. Hotel Cristallo is definitely one of the best accommodation options near Livigno in Bormio, just 400 meters from the cable car. The cost of a week's stay in this three-star hotel will cost about 1000 euros.

Among the most prestigious ski resorts in Italy, without a doubt, is the Italian ski resort of Bormio, lying at an altitude of about 1225 meters at the foot of the mountain glacier Cima Bianca. A good location guarantees a long winter season for tourists vacationing here - from December to the end of March. One of the main advantages of Bormio is the high mountain skiing area (1225 m - 3012 m), the snow in Bormio lasts a long time, until Easter, and sometimes even longer. Bormio is widely known not only for its modern ski slopes, but also for its unique thermal springs. The first mention of thermal springs dates back to the times of the Roman Empire. Beginning skiers are happy to go to ski tours in Bormio for active recreation and feel good here, and “advanced” skiers are also satisfied. And the real aces will be satisfied with the complexity of some tracks. New hotels, restaurants, shops have been built here. All this allowed Bormio to join the ranks of the most prestigious Alpine resorts and hold a huge number of international competitions.

Val Gardena

The popular Italian ski resort Val Gardena is a unique alpine valley at the foot of the Sassolungo mountain peak, which means "Long Stone" in Italian. The famous Dolomites of Italy are a real riot of colors, stunning natural landscapes and crystal clear mountain air. The extensive ski area of the Val Gardena valley includes three full-fledged resorts: Ortisei, Selva Gardena and Santa Cristina. Sweet and cozy Santa Cristina (1466 m) is a small alpine village, as if inscribed in a mountain valley. It is here that the stages of the World Cup are held annually. Selva Gardena (1563 m) - one might say the most sporty in the valley. You can ski down to almost every hotel, here are the most interesting slopes, and the skiing area above the town is integral part Salla Ronda (ski around the world). Together with the adjacent Alpe de Suisi ski area, all the Val Gardena regions are connected by a continuous network of slopes and lifts, so you can move from one ski area to another without removing your skis. Also at the service of tourists buses (ski-buses), continuously plying through the valley. The current level of development of skiing in Val Gardena is 175 km of ski slopes, served by a system of the most modern lifts, which includes 4 funiculars, 4 cabins, 28 chairlifts and 41 drag lifts. The resort has the latest artificial snow systems, which are considered the most powerful in Europe. There is an opportunity for flat skiing. Prestigious international downhill competitions are regularly held. The possibilities of the Val Gardena resort are ideal for both beginners and experienced skiers. . The owners also took care of a useful ski holiday in Val Gardena for beginners: “kindergartens” in the Selva area with short trails and a convenient lift system, as well as gentle slopes passing to the right of Passo Sella (Passo Sella, 2244 m.). Val Gardena is the former Austrian lands, which after the Second World War became part of the Italian state, so it retains its own unique flavor, which combines Italian and Austrian temperament. The fabulous valley of Val Gardena today is able to offer you a wide variety of entertainment for almost every taste! In the towns of the valley there are indoor pools, ice rinks and wellness centers. You can play tennis and squash in Ortisei. In the evening you can sit in a cafe, in a restaurant or drop by a disco. Specialized ski shops and souvenir shops are open in Selva and Santa Cristina. There are many luxury hotels in the valley, many of them with excellent wellness centers. In Ortisei, there is the Mar Dolomiti Aqua Center with a large swimming pool, cascade complex, saunas and a wellness complex. Alpin Garden Wellness Resort has a luxurious complex Wellness & Spa Cleopatra with an area of more than 1000 square meters with swimming pools, several jacuzzis, various saunas and a beauty center. The complex also has a fitness center with panoramic views of the Sassolungo dolomite rock. In the village of Selva Gardena, there is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Alps, repeatedly recognized as the best ski and spa hotel in Italy - Sporthotel Alpenroyalp Gourmet & Relax. It is part of The Leading Hotels of the World and offers a modern spa and a wide range of treatments.

Val di Fassa

In the heart of the legendary Italian Dolomites is the prestigious Italian ski resort Val di Fassa, which is widely known for its picturesque nature and modern tourist infrastructure. In terms of the level of lift service and the quality of service, the local ski resorts certainly belong to the best in Italy. Among a wide variety of high-class, with a total length of more than two hundred and twenty kilometers, everyone will be able to choose the right ski area for themselves in accordance with their skills and experience. There are several ski areas in the Val di Fassa valley. The first covers the area above the resorts of Campitello (Campitello, 1440 m) and Canazei (Canazei, 1460 m), which is part of the famous "carousel" Sella Ronda. This is the most popular skiing area, but the "ski around the world" trails are often too crowded. The architecture of the towns is dominated by the Tyrolean style, which creates a special mood. The majestic Sella mountain range, rising above the valley, has become the symbol of the resort. In the sector between Col Podella (2485 m) and Passo Sella there are open sunny and shady wide pistes - mostly red ones. From Canazei, using a system of trails and lifts (via the Pecol station, 1926 m, then Passo Podroi), it is possible to get to neighboring Arabba. The second ski area is a small independent section above the resort of Alba (Alba, 1460 m). The slopes at the top of the slope are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. A rather steep black trail descends through the forest from the first gondola lift station back to Alba. The third sector includes the resort towns of Pozza (Pozza, 1320 m) and Vigo di Fassa (Vigo di Fassa, 1390 m). The main ski areas here are also at a distance of one line of the cable car, but you can go down from there along the track. The resort of Italy has specialized schools for skiing and snowboarding, which employ qualified instructors. In addition to skiing, in Val di Fassa you can also get the most out of sledding, dog sledding, rock climbing or ice polo. In the resort you will also find sports complexes with a swimming pool, sauna and massage rooms for complete relaxation and rejuvenation. In the valley there are several resort villages of various sizes. Campitello and Canazei are the most popular with our tourists, they are located higher than Pozza di Fassa or Moena. There are several good 4* hotels in Campitello, in particular the Park Hotel Club Rubino Executive (with a good wellness center and swimming pool) and the Park Hotel Club Diamant. The Grand Chalet Soreghes with a spa has recently opened in Campitello. Not far from the ski lift Kol Rodella is the Residence Hotel Garni Artz. The level of 3 * hotels in Campitello is not bad, as a rule, these are small but cozy hotels decorated in the Tyrolean style. When traveling with children, it makes sense to choose apartments or more expensive rooms in four-star hotels: the rooms in many 3 * hotels are quite small. The resort of Canazei also offers a good selection of mid-level accommodation options. Among the best hotels in Val di Fassa, La Perla can be noted, it is located in the center of Canazei and offers guests a sauna, jacuzzi, hammam (for an additional fee). Canazei is also home to many 3-star hotels, and apartments are easy to find. When choosing hotels and apartments in Val di Fassa, pay attention to their location in relation to the ski lifts: some apartments are not too close to the cable cars, in which case it makes sense to rent a car. Among the best hotels in Canazei are Dolomiti 3 * (located in the center of the town) and Astoria 4 *. This hotel is located a few steps from the center and 450 meters from the ski lifts (the hotel provides a bus). Numerous cafes, bars and restaurants, distinguished by traditional Italian hospitality, will help you to have a pleasant evening. The resort provides excellent opportunities for sports and outdoor activities. Picturesque cross-country skiing trails of varying difficulty are laid throughout the valley, the longest is 12 km. Canazei has a modern wellness complex with a swimming pool, sauna, massage and beauty salon, and thalassotherapy treatments. Alba di Canazei has an indoor skating rink. In February, colorful carnival weeks take place in the valley, when locals dress up in bright costumes, celebrations and festivities take place everywhere.

Madonna Di Campiglio

Located in a wonderful valley with green meadows and dark spruce forests, in the heart of the Adamello Brenta nature reserve. Here, on the one hand, the Brenta Dolomites rise, on the other, Adamello and Presanella. When snow falls, it resembles a fairy-tale land from childhood dreams. To spend your winter holidays here means to visit, probably, the most beautiful resort in the Alps. Recognized as the capital of skiing, offering a wide range of opportunities for skiing, located at an altitude of 1550m above sea level. This is one of the most modern and equipped resorts in the Alps. As for tourists going to Madonna di Campiglio, the resort has all levels of slopes for them. Directly above the resort there are 60 km of prepared trails at altitudes from 1550 to 2580 m above sea level. Together with Folgarida and Marilleva, neighboring regions connected to the Madonna cable car network, this is about the same amount. The recently opened new gondola allowed to expand the ski area to 150 km. Fans of cruise skiing will have something to do - most of the region's tracks are comfortable enough to drive around the entire ski area in a couple of days without much stress. Of course, people come to Madonna di Campiglio not only to ski. Here you can just relax, breathe in the mountain air, as they did, for example, even under the Habsburgs. Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Sissi discovered this place in 1889 and have been coming to Campiglio regularly ever since. Later, for the divine beauty of the surrounding landscapes, the resort received its modern name- Madonna di Campiglio, and in memory of the imperial family, the Habsburg carnival is regularly held here. About 1 thousand people live in Madonna di Campiglio, the resort can accommodate about 27 thousand tourists. The main type of accommodation is hotels, apartments, cottages. In general, Madonna di Campiglio is distinguished by a well-thought-out developed infrastructure and good hotels. But still the resort lacks the traditional alpine charm. However, this resort is not cheap. Some of the best hotels are Lorenzetti 4 * (an excellent hotel, but located on the outskirts of the city, free transport runs during the day) and Club Spinale 4 * (located next to the ski lift, in a quiet area of \u200b\u200bthe resort). As more economical options, we can recommend Christiania (located 50 meters from the ski lift) and aparthotel Ambiez 3 *, which is located in a beautiful location overlooking a picturesque forest, a few meters from the ski lifts. Other recreational opportunities: curling, dog sledding, skating rink, horseback riding. And also _ swimming pool, sports center, bowling, guided hikes, freeride safari, snow leopard trail tours. Thrill-seekers are offered paragliding, heli-skiing, kiting and overnight snowmobile trips to mountain huts. For lovers of cross-country skiing there are 20 km of slopes. Madonna di Campiglio has a lot of stylish boutiques and antique shops, and it will also please those with a sweet tooth (the resort is famous for its luxurious patisseries). There are also many restaurants and bars, night clubs, cinemas, cafes and discos.
