Singers of the 90s. The brightest domestic performers of the eighties

Let's remember the popular musical groups of the 90s and 2000s, to the songs of which the whole country then danced, and also learn about how the further fate their members.

t.A.T.u. The group was created in 1999 and initially actively exploited the image of same-sex love in both songs and videos, which to some extent became the key to success. In 2003, Yulia Volkova and Lena Katina even participated in Eurovision, finishing third. Six years after that, after going through an impressive international success, the team dispersed.

Volkova began her solo career. Back in 2004, she gave birth to a daughter, Victoria, and three years later she became the wife of the son of a businessman, Parviz Yasinov, to whom she gave birth to a son, Samir.

Elena Katina has been participating in the international solo project Lena Katina since 2009, she moved to Los Angeles. The performer is married to Slovenian rock musician Sasho Kuzmanovich, to whom she gave birth to a son two years ago.

"Lyceum". The girl trio consisting of Nastya Makarevich, Lena Perova and Izolda Ishkhanishvili made their debut in the TV show "Morning Star" in 1995, and the song "Autumn" became their main hit.

Lena Perova was the first to be fired from the group, and after a while Izolda also left. Constantly in the group, only Nastya Makarevich is still present, whose company is made up of different girls. Now the Lyceum star is 40 years old, she is married to a lawyer, she has two sons.

Izolda Ishkhanishvili retired from show business, lives in Switzerland, runs a luxury cosmetics business and is the wife of construction magnate Dmitry Desyatnikov, to whom she gave birth to a son five years ago.

Elena Perova tried to return to show business, wrote songs and soundtracks for films, hosted talk shows, participated in various television projects and even starred in TV shows, and besides, she struggled with alcohol and drug addictions, got into car accidents. Not married, no children.

"HiFi". The official founding date of the group is August 2, 1998, when the producer brought together the artists Mitya Fomin, Timofey Pronkin and Oksana Oleshko. Producer Pavel Yesenin himself planned to become the soloist of the group, but not wanting to go on tour, he made Fomin his "avatar", who began to "sing" the songs recorded by Yesenin's voice.

In early 2003, Oksana Oleshko left the group and show business, deciding to devote herself entirely to her family. Her place was taken by the now famous performers Tatyana Tereshina and Katya Li, who also did not stay in the team.

In early 2009, the popularity of "Hi-Fi" fell and for the sake of a solo career, the band left Mitya Fomin, who has since been busy with solo work. "Hi-Fi" is a duet of Timofey Pronkin and changing vocalists.

"Arrows". By the beginning of the 2000s, the composition had changed considerably, which caused the popularity to decline. Both 2004 and 2009 are recognized as the date of the breakup of the group. In August 2015, Strelka announced the reunion of the team in the golden line-up, although today only a trio remains of it.

"Bachelor party". The hip-hop trio was founded in 1991 by producer Alexei Adamov. The sung details of intimate life to the rhythms of North American rap became the key to the success of the team.

"Bachelor Party" lasted until 1996, after which the musicians closed the project. Andrey "Dolphin" Lysikov began his solo career, which he continues to this day. Married to photographer Lika Gulliver, father of two children.

Pavel "Mutabor" Galkin and Andrey "Dan" Kotov tried to revive the group, recorded several albums, but the time for the "Bachelor Party" had already passed. As DJ Mutabor performs in various clubs in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, London, New York, Dublin, etc.

The current group of Viktor Bondaryuk was called "Project Size", and now it is called "140 beats per minute". The musician is married to the actress of the series "Kitchen" Irina Temicheva.

Ivanushki International. Boy band - the favorites of schoolgirls of the 90s. The group still exists, but Kirill Andreev and Andrey Grigoriev-Apollonov remained in it from the initial composition.

In March 1998, Igor Sorin decided to pursue a solo career, and in September of the same year, the musician died, according to investigators, after falling from the balcony of the sixth floor.

Igor's place in the group was taken by Oleg Yakovlev, who left the band in 2013 also for a solo project. Last summer, the performer died of cardiac arrest due to bilateral pneumonia and cirrhosis of the liver.

In March 2003, Irina Lukyanova left the team, devoting herself to her family and soon to be born daughter Anya. Perhaps everyone knows about the sad fate of Zhanna Friske.

After leaving the group, Olga Orlova performed with solo projects, acted in films, played in the theater, and other performers performed and continue performing under the brand "Brilliant" for a long time.

"Virus!". The famous hits of the group were the songs "Pens", "Everything will pass", "I'll ask you", "Happiness" and others. The first line-up of the band was Olga Lucky Kozina - vocalist, author of words and music, as well as keyboardists Yuri Stupnik and Andrei Gudas.

In the spring of 2009, Eva Polna announced the breakup of the group and the start of her solo career. In addition to music, she is fond of fashion and raises two daughters, Evelina and Amalia.

Prime Minister. The Russian pop group, formed in 1997, included Vyacheslav Bodolika, Peter Jason, Jean Grigoriev-Milimerov and Dmitry Lansky in golden times.

At the end of 2005, due to disagreements with the producer, Jean, Peter, Vyacheslav and Marat began to work independently, but since the rights to the name "Prime Minister" did not belong to them, they were forced to call themselves "PM Group". And their former producer recruited a new line-up of the group under the same brand.

Andrey Gubin. Photo: NTV press service

For the sake of his autograph, millions of fans were ready for a lot. For more than 10 years, Andrey Gubin has not set foot on the stage. The singer went into hermitage, travels with a backpack over his shoulders in hot countries, does not stay in Moscow for a long time. And the words of his first song, which he wrote at the age of 14, seemed to be prophetic: “What are you looking for, a tramp boy in this God-forgotten country?” But after the song “Only Gubin is shorter”, which was written by Igor Nikolaev and performed by Anton Zatsepin, Andrei decided to leave the stage.

Various media wrote that he drank himself, disappears without a livelihood. But the 43-year-old Gubin himself claims: “I didn’t get drunk at all, and there’s enough money to live on.” Gubin, who 15 years ago did not eat, did not sleep and toured in order to pay for airtime, now does not give interviews even to the most persistent journalists. “There is such a carnival going on on TV right now that I just look at it all and don’t understand anything! I remain the same. I am a normal person who does what he loves, I still continue to write songs ... ”, - Andrey said in an interview.

And in another interview, the artist said that he was suffering from terrible pain in his face, and therefore did not perform. In general, it is not completely clear what happened to Andrey, and whether we will ever hear his new hits.

Vlad Stashevsky

In the 1990s, the singer had many fans. His star rose in 1993, when he was a student at a trade and commerce college and was celebrating the passing of a session with friends at the club. In the same place and at the same time, the famous producer Yuri Aizenshpis was resting there, who heard Vlad sing and play the piano. The producer left him a business card and a week later two creative personalities met. Several years passed, Stashevsky became successful and famous and decided to leave Aizenshpis. Here the decline in his career began - the presentation of his disc "Labyrinths" failed miserably. I had to become a businessman, to the company Volna-M LLC, which deals with the processing of metal waste. But in 2017, the company was liquidated. Now 44-year-old Vlad periodically performs in clubs, at private parties and corporate parties with his old hits: “Love doesn’t live here anymore”, “Don’t trust me, honey”, “Call me at night, I’ll come”.

Natalia Vetlitskaya

Natalya Vetlitskaya. Photo: Global Look Press

The singer, actress, sex symbol of the 90s did not arrange farewell concerts and did not make official statements, but quietly and calmly left the stage. Immediately after the birth of her daughter Ulyana in 2004, Vetlitskaya moved to Spain to give her child a European education. And 10 years ago she settled there for permanent residence. The former soloist of the Mirage group prefers the work of a restorer and designer of houses, leads a reclusive lifestyle, does not give interviews to intrusive journalists and does not participate in talk shows. From time to time, Natalya's name still appears on the net and in the media - Natalya sometimes speaks very sharply about life in Russia.

Despite the complete absence of constant concerts, Vetlitskaya is not going to give up creativity: she writes poetry, music and paintings, is fond of yoga and meditation. Now the singer is married for the fourth time: to Alexei, a yoga coach. The first husband is Pavel Smeyan, the second is Zhenya Belousov, the third is fashion model Kirill Kirin. Decl (Kirill Tolmatsky)

Kirill Tolmatsky. Photo: facebook.com

1999: he is 16, and for the first time he enters the stage a little bit, but in the very center of Moscow, on Manezhnaya Square, where the Kremlin is within easy reach. “It was my first serious performance. Everything was, of course, done tyap-blunder. But, in general, everyone liked it, ”DeTsl recalled. Today Kirill Tolmatsky has only long dreadlocks from those years. Now he is 34 years old, and he is not at all the same as before. “Everyone has a certain stereotype: DeTsl is a little boy, with dreadlocks and a hat, who jumps and sings about parties. In order to slightly change this stereotype among people, it was necessary to distract them somehow. Accordingly, we came up with a new pseudonym Le Truk,” Kirill explained. Le Truk, aka Giuseppe Zestko, aka one of the most closed people for journalists - Cyril does not give interviews. He just continues to record new albums, but does not advertise them, starring in videos: “I try to attract the attention of as many people as possible on the Internet with my work. For me, this segment - television - is not so important now.

But why do those who used to be in the spotlight and 15 years ago did not leave the screens and pages of magazines, have now chosen peace and quiet? “Now the situation is such that the more modest you are, the more people are drawn to you. Because every time I try to convey something, talk about my work, my music, they begin to crawl into my personal life. No one is interested in what I do musically. But everyone is interested in what is happening in my family, ”complains Tolmatsky.

Most remember Cyril as the son of a famous producer, and he, by the way, is raising his own son, 12-year-old Anthony. What is the rap symbol of the 1990s doing now, besides music? From a rapper boy, Tolmatsky retrained as a businessman. Now he is a co-founder of a company that arranges parties for money, and not at home, but in any city in the country.

"Vice squad"

Group "Police of Morals". Photo: Sergey Miklyaev/TASS

This outrageous group in the 1990s, it seems, sang hits ... but no one will remember which ones. But they appearance was remembered by a lot of people: two brave bald girls suddenly appeared on the domestic stage: “We then received very decent fees: a ticket to our concert cost about a hundred dollars,” recalls a member of the group under the pseudonym Frida, “fabulous money at that time.”

Frida and Angel quickly became popular, but this fame also quickly passed when the bald heads of the singers lost their novelty, they stopped watching and listening to them. The singers were forced to take off their handcuffs and caps - the invariable attributes of girls on stage - and grow their hair. After the breakup of the group, each of the girls went about their own business: Angel left to seek her fortune abroad. There she opened a yoga school. And Frida lives in Moscow, her position is a housewife. But sometimes he runs away from home to perform in one or another club. Occasionally, the soloists of the Vice Police also meet each other. Former glory only dreams of girls.

Larisa Chernikova

There was a time, in the mid-90s, when the singer occupied the top lines of the country's music charts. But then she suddenly disappeared from sight. So, in order:

What Dima in our country will not remember the song “I love you Dima, what do I need so much”? Or here's another popular composition: "Don't laugh, don't laugh, to put it simply." At first, everything went well for Larisa: at the age of 19, she married a big businessman. It was he who helped Chernikova start her career as a singer. But in 1996, Larisa's husband was killed: “When he was gone, some people came and took everything away in two days,” Larisa later recalled. “I had to return to my mother with one suitcase.” Despite the tragedy, the singer did not stop writing songs and making videos. She had to start from scratch...

In the mid-90s, Chernikova disappeared from the air because she married an American whom she met on a dating site. And again, the girl completely changed her life, now enrolling as a farmer. But the American husband Chernikova had only one soul - to drink. Even despite the birth of a son, the couple divorced, and Larisa returned to Russia.

The singer was surprised and delighted to find that she was remembered here: “People came up to me, asked for autographs and take pictures. And they even sang my songs!” she said. In the past, in 2017, the 43-year-old singer released the album “Law OM”, where she sang mantras in Sanskrit.

Group "Kar-Man"

Bogdan Titomir. Photo: Global Look Press

The most popular team in those years lasted only a year, but Sergei Lemokh and Bogdan Titomir are remembered even after 25 years! Singers set the tone not only in music, but also in dance. Their signature leg swing was repeated at discos by both boys and girls.

The popularity of the guys was crazy, but with her arrival, conflicts began in the group. Lemokh wrote words and music, and Titomir only criticized his work. Once Sergey got tired of it, and he told Bogdan: “Who are you without me?” To which Titomir objected: “Who are you without me? Girls go to concerts just for me!” The group soon disbanded. Sergey stayed at Kar-Man, and Bogdan began to perform solo and was remembered by the audience with a phrase from the song “Do as I do!”.

However, neither one nor the other reached its former popularity. Today Sergei occasionally performs with his old songs in nightclubs. Unlike many bands, Titomir and Lemokh do not go out of their way to connect for the duration of performances in retro concerts.

Sergei Rogozhin

The singer has long since quit show business: now, he works as an insurance agent. Today, few people remember him, but at one time Sergey simply tore the crowd with his hit "You are my summer winter, my winter summer ...". Slava Rogozhin was just crazy. Numerous admirers overcame him, were on duty at the entrance, wrote letters.

When the crisis came in 1998, many artists were left without work, the audience had no time for concerts, the “new Russians” had no time for corporate events. And Sergey just found a sponsor to record his new album, bought an apartment for his mother in St. Petersburg ... and suddenly such a bummer: he was left in debt, like in silks.

But Rogozhin nevertheless found a way out: he retrained as an insurance agent. Earnings from a new profession brought Rogozhin three times more money than music. And then he decided not to return to the stage. And yet, from time to time, Rogozhin no, no, and even shake the old days: he will take out old leather pants from the chest and sing old hits in some club. True, there are usually few listeners, but he does this not for money, but for the soul.

The eighties for the Russian show business is a very interesting period. The Soviet foundations gradually ceased to act, extraordinary and talented young men appeared on the stage - singers of the 80s, Russians. The list of them can be continued almost indefinitely. It is also interesting that real masters and representatives of the new stage often met on the same stage. Also in these years there was a flourishing of rock culture, which until then had been in a strict framework.

Stage legends

The founders of the modern stage were the singers of the 70-80s (Russians). Their list includes well-known names:

  1. Vladimir Presnyakov (senior) in the late 70s made a dizzying career in the Gems group. In 1987, he left the big stage to help his son take his first steps in show business.
  2. In the 80s, Valery Leontiev dressed more modestly, but he was already famous thanks to his collaboration with Raymond Pauls. At the end of the decade, sales of Valery's sound carriers broke all records.
  3. The peak of Lev Leshchenko's career was the closing of the Olympics in Moscow. Not many singers of the 80s (Russians), the list of which is almost limitless, can boast of such an honor.

Other worthy performers of that time can be included in the same list. Iosif Davydovich Kobzon, for example, by the eighties had already become a vocal teacher and released records with records of retro songs, but the peak of his career came in the seventies.

Forgotten Artists

Some singers of the 80s Russian, the list of which will be given below, are now unreasonably forgotten:

  1. In the late eighties, the USSR was shocked by a group in which a pupil of an orphanage, Yuri Shatunov, performed. His colleague Andrei Razin competently promoted the project, using rumors, doubles and other tricks. Many years later, Yuri was never able to repeat his former success.
  2. Viktor Saltykov in the eighties performed as part of the Electroclub group, but he is more often known as the father of Irina Saltykova.
  3. Sergey Minaev became the ancestor of discos and the club movement, today few people will remember him.

These performers were consigned to oblivion only because of the rapidly changing stage of that time. The Russian singers of the 80s did not expect such a fate. The list of forgotten stars of the 90s will be much longer, since many then performed one hit and disappeared. Now the stars of the 80s and 90s often perform at combined nostalgic concerts dedicated to that time.

rock club representatives

Not all singers of the 80s (Russians) are forgotten. The list of men who performed in the rock music genre consists only of cult personalities who are still active on the stage:

  1. Vladimir Kuzmin began his career in the late 70s in the Karnaval group, but reached the peak of popularity in the 80s with the Dynamic group. He began to be recognized in every home in 1986, when he performed in a duet with Alla Pugacheva. In 2017, he presented the album “Roker-3. Closing of the season.
  2. Valery Kipelov began his career in the Leysya Song team in 1980. When the team did not pass the state program and closed, he was invited to the Aria group. Since 1985, he has performed in it. In 2017, he performed at the "Invasion" already with his own group "Kipelov", which was created in 2002, when Valery left the former team due to disagreements.
  3. Yuri Shevchuk became famous thanks to his hits "Rain", "Autumn", "That's all ...". Since 1980 he has been the leader of the DDT group. Differs in oppositional views, does not accept any power. In 2017, he became the headliner of the Invasion festival, performed for 2.5 hours and was well received by the public.
  4. The following singers of the 80s and 90s became an unusual phenomenon for the stage. The list of "Russian cult rockers of the 80s" is closed by two performers at once: the Samoilov brothers - Vadim and Gleb. Not so long ago they creative way dispersed, Gleb became the leader of the Matrixx group and in 2017 will please the public with a new album, and Vadim the presidential envoy. He regularly performs at Russian venues, participated in concerts in Syria and the Donbass. At the same time, the Saimolovs performed in the style of "rock decadence", which is how they differ from those listed above.

The eighties became the golden age for Russian rock. Most of the idols of even modern fans of this genre came from this period. The list of singers can include Grebenshchikov, Shklyarsky, Makarevich, Kinchev and many others.

Lost Talents

The listed lists cannot be considered complete, since they do not contain two surnames - Tsoi and Talkov. Probably, these singers would be more popular than others, because now their songs are remembered with special warmth. For many fans of their work, it is a chagrin that both performers died tragically in the prime of their careers. Viktor Tsoi died in a car accident, and Igor Talkov was shot dead backstage at a concert hall in the early nineties.

Tsoi was known as the herald of perestroika. His songs have become iconic for many, indeed the youth of the USSR wanted "changes". Igor Talkov was also a perestroika singer, his songs were heard during the putsch of the State Committee for the State of Emergency. They were more lyrical than Victor's. Talkov's most famous songs are "Clean Ponds" and "I'll be back."
