East Siberian Branch of the Federal State Budgetary educational institution higher education"Russian State University justice" - one of 11 branches of the RPMU, located in the historical, cultural, scientific center Eastern Siberia - in the city of Irkutsk, a city rich in legal traditions, with a strong law school, with a large at scientific potential.

The branch was established on the territory of the East Siberian Federal District on August 10, 2001 in accordance with the decision of the founders of the Supreme Court Russian Federation and the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation.

The main building of the branch (and the student hostel, located fifty meters from the building) is located in a picturesque place on the banks of the Angara River. This area of ​​Irkutsk is called Studgorodok, many educational institutions of the city with their own infrastructure are concentrated in it: hostels, sports complexes, technoparks. This is truly the epicenter of intellectual youth and student life in Irkutsk.

The East Siberian branch today is one of the leading higher educational institutions Irkutsk. An important role in the creation of the branch was played by the judicial community of the Irkutsk region and the administration of the Judicial Department in the Irkutsk region. The branch provides training, retraining and advanced training of personnel for the judicial system of several constituent entities of the Russian Federation: the Irkutsk region, the Trans-Baikal and Krasnoyarsk territories, the Republics of Buryatia, Tyva, Khakassia, Sakha-Yakutia.

The East Siberian branch is headed by Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor Aleksey Sergeevich Stepanenko. A team of professionals assembled by him works with him. high level. Educational, educational and methodical and scientific work provide nine departments: Department of Criminal Law (headed by Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Nelli Lvovna Romanova), Criminal Procedure Law (deputy head Elena Timergalievna Burnina), civil law(Deputy Head Associate Professor Larisa Anatolyevna Cherdakova), Civil Procedural Law (Ph.D. in Law, Professor Sergey Yurievich Nekrasov), State Law Disciplines (Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Alexei Sergeevich Stepanenko), Theory and History of Law and State (Ph.D. in Sociology, Associate Professor Konstantin Yuryevich Yakubenko), humanitarian and socio-economic disciplines (candidate of sociological sciences, associate professor Nadezhda Viktorovna Gritskikh), general education disciplines (deputy head senior lecturer Nadezhda Viktorovna Ivanova), organization and security of judicial and law enforcement activities (candidate of legal sciences Alexander Vladimirovich Orlov).

The branch has three faculties:

- faculty of continuing education for the training of specialists for the judiciary - on the basis of the main general education;

- faculty of training specialists for the judiciary (faculty of law) - on the basis of complete (general) secondary, secondary vocational and higher education;

- faculty of advanced training and retraining of judges, civil servants of the courts and the Judicial Department (FPK of judges and civil servants of the courts).

Forms of education: full-time and part-time.

Training period: normative and accelerated.

Implemented training programs: specialist, bachelor's, master's degree.

The formation of the personality of a modern lawyer, comprehensively developed, with the necessary set of human and professional qualities, is one of the main tasks of the university, which requires not only constant improvement of the educational process, but also a huge educational work. The leadership of the branch and student self-government bodies (in particular, the student parliament is actively manifesting itself) closely cooperate in solving this problem. Special attention is given in the branch to the general civil, patriotic education of students, the creation of conditions for their cultural and aesthetic growth, the mastery of general and professional ethics. Students of the branch have the opportunity to realize their creative abilities by studying in the literary and drama studio "In the beginning was the Word ...", the choreographic dance ensemble of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, the vocal studio, demonstrating resourcefulness and humor in the KVN team of the branch, trying themselves as a student correspondent newspapers "Bonostudio”, achieving sports success in various sports sections, developing his managerial talent in student government, showing his active life position, participating in the activities of the volunteer group “Our Baby”.

A great place in the life of the branch is occupied by the research activities of the teaching staff and the research work of students. These types of activities are aimed at developing fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of organizing the judicial system, scientific support for the law enforcement practice of courts, lawmaking, as well as improving the educational and methodological process.

As of November 1, 2014, 178 people work in the branch (113 main employees, 65 part-time employees). The number of faculty members is 111 people, that is, 62.3% of all employees in the branch are teachers.

75 teachers have an academic degree (67.6%), of which: 18 – Doctors of Sciences (16.2%),57 - candidates of sciences (51.3%).Currently, 5 employees of the university are conducting research on doctoral dissertations, 4 graduate students and 3 applicants - on candidate dissertations.

Two of the scientific and pedagogical workers were awarded the honorary title "Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation", and three bear the title "Honorary Worker of the Higher vocational education Russian Federation".The educational process is attended by federal judges and professors from Moscow, who regularly lecture to students.

The branch has a system of scientific circles, student laboratories. The student scientific society is actively functioning. At the annual review-competition of the results of scientific activities of the teaching staff, graduate students, applicants, students of the East Siberian branch of the RSUE, faculties, departments, scientific creative teams, scientific circles and laboratories, young scientists and scientists with a name sum up their scientific activities for the year, demonstrate their achievements and successes, and these achievements are increasing every year.

The students of the branch can test the theoretical knowledge gained during the training, gain professional skills and abilities in a legal clinic that works in several areas.

With great interest, legal scholars and representatives of the judicial community of the region took the publication of a collection of scientific papers “Verb b justice." On the pages of this collection, law enforcement officers, scientists, as well as students, undergraduates, graduate students, applicants discuss topical scientific problems, share experiences, express their opinions on various issues of legal science, practice, legal education, ethics and psychology of professional activity, information support of citizens in the field of exercise of judicial power.

Together with the Irkutsk Regional Court, the Arbitration Court of the Irkutsk Region, the Office of the Judicial Department in the Irkutsk Region, the Office of the Department for Ensuring the Activities of Justices of the Peace, the Council of Judges of the Irkutsk Region, the East Siberian branch of the RPMU holds permanent scientific and practical seminars, round tables on various issues related to improving the efficiency of the judicial system in the region.

Experienced practitioners of the judiciary are involved in the educational process of the university, which allows you to quickly convey to the student audience relevant modern knowledge with its refraction to real judicial activity.

The branch seeks to expand its international relations, strengthen cooperation with colleagues from other countries (the priority of the branch is the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, in particular China, Korea, Mongolia). The forms of such cooperation are participation, organization and holding of international scientific and practical conferences, congresses, round tables, student exchange, internships for teachers, lectures, master classes, etc.

Over the thirteen years of its existence, the East Siberian Branch has trained 2081 graduates of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Continuous Education. More than 7,000 assistant judges of courts of general jurisdiction, arbitration courts, secretaries court sessions, employees of the apparatus of courts, justices of the peace were trained here at the faculty of advanced training and retraining.

The branch continues to be formed as a scientific and methodological center of the region's judicial system. Its graduates are in demand, and many of them successfully work in the judiciary.
