  1. The appearance of a cat in human life

Cats came to people 3-5 thousand years ago in ancient Egypt. They were very good with cats. The undoubted benefits brought by cats, who guarded the bins of the ancient Egyptians from mice, aroused love and respect. Over time, these feelings grew into a cult of cats. Cats were deified en masse. The goddess Bast had a cat's head. Then the Egyptians built temples to the patroness of cats, the goddess Bastet.

depicting the goddess Bast.

In the event of a fire in Ancient Egypt First of all, they rescued cats. At the death of a cat, people living with him celebrated mourning. The body of the cat was embalmed and buried with honors in wooden, gold and other coffins, depending on wealth. From Egypt, cats came to Arabia, India. 600 BC reached Siam and China. In ancient Greece and Rome, they appeared 200 years later. From Italy in the 12th century they came to Europe. A domestic cat is an animal that, along with a dog, is considered a “companion animal”. According to genetic studies, all cats descend from representatives of the subspecies of the wild Middle Eastern (Libyan) cat, a small predatory mammal of the cat family. The domestication of the cat took place approximately 9,500 years ago in the Middle East. The domestication of the cat began with the transition of a person to a sedentary lifestyle and with the beginning of the development of agriculture, when there was a surplus of food, and it became necessary to save them from rodents.

  1. Classification of cat breeds.

How many cat breeds are there actually? Today there are more than a hundred breeds and their varieties - more than 700 are officially recognized and registered! And all with certain external data and a unique character. In every country in the world there are special clubs that are engaged in the cultivation of officially recognized cat breeds. Each breed has distinctive features and standards. The most important signs that distinguish one breed from another are the length and color of the coat, and also the shape of the head. People who are busy cultivating and studying cats bear the name of felinologists.

All cats are divided into three groups: long-haired, semi-long-haired and short-haired. Here is some of them…

Longhair: Persian cat , British Longhair cats,Scottish Longhair (Highland Fold) , Himalayan cat, York chocolate cats, etc.

Semi-longhair:Balinese cat , Burmese cat , Cymrick , Kurilian Bobtails, Maine Coon cats, etc.

Shorthair:Abyssinian cats, American Wirehair cat, american shorthair cat , bengal cat and etc.

  1. The history of the appearance of a cat in the house.

One autumn evening, sitting at home, my dad and I decided to get a cat. Having studied a lot of material on the Internet, we found a nursery and went to meet our "little friend". When I saw him, I immediately fell in love and on the same day we went home with our wonderful pet - the cat Maderson (affectionately - Marsik).

  1. Features of the "gray friend"

My pet is a gray-blue cat of the Russian Blue breed and therefore, I would like to tell you about these cats in more detail.

The true origin of the Russian Blue cat breed has not been precisely established. She had many different names before being called Russian blue . The story tells that these cats were brought to England from Arkhangelsk by sailors. Then they were called so - Arkhangelsk. Then the name changed to "Spanish" and "Maltese", etc.

Russian blue cat- peaceful, kind and always obeys the owner, but besides this, she is a little stubborn and loves freedom. Shy and secretive with strangers and guests. She does not like to wander - she is closer to being at home. Russian blue cats most of all love a cozy home, and they are very friendly and sociable with their native owners. According to legend, the Russian blue cat is the key to happiness and well-being in the house.

Here is my cat Marsik - very beautiful. He has large green eyes, a long mustache and medium ears that look like triangles. Thanks to the whiskers, the cat catches the slightest fluctuations in the air and can confidently move in the dark without touching anything. Marsik's tongue is rough to the touch. The base of the paws is round, with pads. I noticed that he has 5 fingers on his paws. Each finger has a sharp claw. I watched his walk. When he walks, he takes a step alternately, then with both right paws, then with both left ones. Such walking guarantees speed, agility. He walks very quietly, almost silently. The length from the nose to the tip of the tail of my cat is 76 cm. The paws of Mars are long - 20 cm. In general, he is very beautiful!

5. Features of education and behavior

I decided to find out some features of the behavior and upbringing of my cat. And she conducted such an experiment: she tied a small bow on a thread. She put the cat on the floor, took a thread with a bow in her hand and began to drive along the floor. The cat did not react at first, but then this bow became interested in him. Marsik began to run after the bow and catch it with his paws. Then I lifted the bow up a little, and he began to jump after him. Then I began to make my movements sharper, increasing the distance. Marsik jumped up to the height of my height. What was my surprise: it turns out that the cat can jump high, the height of its jump can be several times the length of its own body. The ability of cats to jump from great heights, remaining safe and sound, is studied by a special science called "pasematology" (from Greek word pasema - fall). Cats know how to roll over properly in the air, but if they fall from too low a height, they do not have time to coordinate their movements and can be seriously injured.

Attitude towards people

Animals love us, accept us for who we are. In addition, they awaken in people a sense of responsibility and awaken the desire to communicate with people, to learn the world enjoy life, love life and people. Most means of expression a cat uses when greeting a person: a raised tail, an arched back, pushing its head into a stroking hand, rubbing against the owner's legs, purring. The only feeling completely absent in a cat is guilt. The cat never connects its worst deed with the subsequent punishment. Punishment is associated with her either with a person or with an object that hurts her.

The cat does not understand the word "no". She perceives all prohibitions as an encroachment on her right to establish her own order in her territory, and the person punishing her is exclusively an enemy. Shouting and beating you can only make the cat start to be afraid of you or show aggression towards you. Cats do not like families where life takes place in quarrels and conflicts.

We decided to check how our cat Marsik reacts to rudeness. When the cat ate the laces in the shoes, the mother yelled at him and lightly hit him with a broom. Since then, Mars has been trying to hide if mom picks up a broom.

When the cat wants to show me his location, he rubs his head against my legs or jumps on my hands.

All cats are wonderful hunters. And our Mars is no exception.

How cleverly he catches a piece of paper on a string! It hides, creeps up, instantly jumps - and the toy is in its claws. And the claws of cats are retractable: sneaking up, they put them into soft pads, but if they launch them into prey, they won’t break out. When playing, Marsik rarely uses his claws - he fights back with soft, “velvet” paws, but if he gets angry, Mars releases his claws, clings to his hand, and then quickly runs away.

  1. What if the cat doesn't have an owner?

Suppose if a cat does not have a home and an owner, then what will become of it? She will go hungry, and in winter she will simply freeze! A homeless cat can get sick from all sorts of infections, because there will be no one to look after her. And her hair will not be so beautiful. On the street, a cat can be offended and there will be no one to feel sorry for her. Such cats are very unhappy and without our help they can simply disappear. Have kittens for a short time, and then you can’t throw them away! Becoming wild, they cause serious damage, destroying not only rodents, but also useful animals. Left without human help, feral cats often get sick and can spread various infections. It is necessary to fight in every possible way with such an attitude towards cats.

  1. Cats are healers

Daily games with a cat are wonderful physical education. Communication with pets is a great stress reliever. It is enough to stroke a purring cat and there will be no trace of nervous tension.

Doctors believe that the cat is the undoubted leader not only as a favorite of a person, but also as his very first assistant in case of illness. The owners of cats have had the opportunity to verify this more than once.

Mom's friend suffers from a migraine and in the days of a severe headache, the cat, like a hat, lies on her head and lies like that for hours - as much as the sick one. Murka (this is the name of the mother's friend's cat) is not unique in comparison with other cats, but demonstrates the usual behavior of animals: they are always next to the owner when he is especially ill. Relief comes as a result of the biological interaction of a cat with a person. After all, the ability of cats to take away negative energy is known. Therefore, they align the human biofield during illness.

Our Marsik also shows his medical abilities. My grandmother has leg pain. When she comes to us, the cat is right there and lies on the grandmother's feet. So he lies as long as the grandmother sits. Once I caught a cold and had a temperature, Marsik lay with me all day.

When our whole family gathers at home in the evenings, Marsik behaves like a member of our family: he sits next to us, follows us. We all love it. The presence of Mars in the house lifts everyone's spirits and puts smiles on our faces.

Results:

Based on this work, an analysis of the behavior of cats was carried out and it was found:

  1. The cat can jump far. The length of her jump can be several times the length of her own body.
  2. From whatever position the cat lands, it jumps on all 4 paws.
  3. Cats can be fickle with people. They can be affectionate, playful, angry, rude, aggressive. It depends on their mood and the attitude of the people around them.
  4. Cats are good healers.
  5. Cats should not be allowed to be homeless.

Conclusion:

Based on the results of this work, I learned a lot about the life of cats, their habits and habits. About where and how long ago cats were tamed, and they became our pets and favorites. And now my cat is not at all unfamiliar to me, but very familiar. I realized that a cat is an interesting animal that a person has managed to tame. It seems to me that one can still say that our pets are universally loved. Of course, there are people who are indifferent and indifferent, and there are those who do not like animals at all, including cats, and treat them with hostility. But such a clear minority!

Natalya Zyurkalova

Dear colleagues, I bring to your attention a project for younger students, which we prepared with our daughter Valeria.

Valeria is in the second grade, and this year those who wish from the class prepared projects for a scientific and practical conference. I propose to get acquainted with our project and evaluate our work.

Project theme:

"My favorite cat Manya"

slide 1

My project is called "My favorite cat".

I like animals a lot. I have a cat at home - Manya, a turtle Totti and fish in an aquarium. But most of all I love cats. And I decided to learn more about her and tell about my cat.

slide 2

The purpose of my work: Find out what breed my cat is

Tasks:

Find out who cats are, how a cat became domestic

learn about cat breeds

Find out what role the cat plays in human life

Take care of your pet

slide 3

There is a cat in our family. Her name is Mania. She's 7. I remember her from my very early childhood. She was brought into our family as a small kitten when I was only a few months old. She is an affectionate cat. Manya loves to be where the whole family is.

slide 4

Many years ago, all cats were feral. It is difficult to determine when a person first started keeping a cat at home. There is an opinion that this animal was domesticated about 6 thousand years ago, when people, in addition to hunting and gathering, began to master cattle breeding and agriculture. For people, there was a need to save the harvest until next year. For this purpose, a person had premises designed to store grain and other products that had to be protected from rodents, which caused great damage to the economy. Best of all, a wild cat coped with this duty. However, scientists are still arguing who, in fact, who tamed - a man a cat or a cat of a man. It is possible that the cat "domesticated" itself, hunting rodents and following people who quickly adopted these animals into their lives.

slide 5

I learned that there are many breeds of cats. For example, Persian cat . Cats of this breed are fluffy and their nose is depressed. The nature of these cats is kind. I also found out Siamese cat breed . These cats are light, and the muzzle and paws are dark. These are very smart cats, jealous and very fond of their owner. There is simple russian blue cat . She was named so because her coat is blue.

There is also sphinx - This is a breed of hairless cats. They, like people, like to sleep under the covers, because they freeze.

There is also cat breeds that look like dogs . This is a dachshund cat and a cat poodle. A cat poodle is as curly as a poodle.

slide 6

A cat is a graceful, affectionate, cunning, but at the same time the most charming pet. She feels like a mistress in our home. Sometimes playful, calm, but still remains a predator.

Cats can communicate in the language of smells. A small, blind kitten will always find its mother thanks to its nose.

They mark their own territory and keep outsiders out. Cats are independent, but very attached to the person and the place of residence in which they live.

They help people get rid of rodents, thereby saving granaries, warehouses, barns and their own place of residence. These are the only animals that nailed to people of their own free will.

The role of a cat in human life is very important. It takes on all the negative impulses and clears the energy. When we stroke a cat, its hairs have a positive effect on nervous system person.

A cat can calm a crying child, cheer him up, play with him. When a child or adult is sleeping, the cat will warm him with her warmth.

Slide 7

Having studied the literature, I found out that my cat is an ordinary Russian breed. Smooth-haired, black. She likes to eat fish, Whiskas, Kitikat and drink water. Manya loves to ride in a doll stroller, she sleeps with me or with dad, or on an armchair.

Manka has a favorite rubber band game. She brings it in her teeth and puts it on the floor, and I or dad throws an elastic band and Manka runs after her, takes her and carries her again. Manya is a very cheerful, playful cat. I love her so much.

Slide 8

While doing my research, I found out Interesting Facts from the life of cats.

1. Cats never meow to each other. This is a sound for humans.

2. The average lifespan of a domestic cat is 15-20 years

3. When the tail starts to drop, it means that the mood has changed - you can move away, she will not be offended

4. Cats see in the twilight much better than humans. The pupils of a cat are narrow in bright light, like slits. And with the onset of darkness - expand.

Slide 9

From all of the above, we can conclude:

Cats are animals. They have excellent hearing and vision. They have curved, razor-sharp claws. The cat's claws catch and hold the prey. The fur covering the toes and soles of the paws helps them to move silently. And my cat: ordinary Russian smooth-haired cat. Black color. Pet, helper and healer.

slide 10

And in our city of Tyumen there is an alley of cats, and everyone can visit it.

Thank you for your attention.

The first message came from Alena Aksenova.

But from whom the second message about the hamster Homa came, you have to guess. The author simply forgot to indicate the last name and first name. Homa's owner found -Natasha Khrebtova.

I had a hamster named Khoma

Homa - a representative of the Campbell species(variety Dzungarian hamsters). Lives in nature Mongolia, in the north of China as well as in Russia and Kazakhstan.
Body length with head 76-105 mm. In nature, the coat is dark gray with brown, a dark stripe on the back from the neck to the base of the tail. Domestic hamsters come in a wide variety of colors, from black to white. My Homa is gray with a black stripe on the back.

Campbell's hamster is a nocturnal animal. Lives in naturesteppes , semi-deserts and deserts . Lives in small groups or pairs. Digs holes no deeper than a meter, with 4-6 entrances, a nesting chamber and a chamber for storing seeds. It does not hibernate in winter. It feeds mainly on seeds, less frequently on insects. My Homa slept all day, and at night he did not let me and my parents sleep, he ran in a wheel and made a lot of noise.

Unfortunately, all hamsters do not live long, about 2 years. Therefore, it is better to have kittens.

Mazur George wrote about my cat Lade.

I have a lovely and very smart cat! Her name is Lada. She is very beautiful! Her eyes are intelligent and blue. Fur is white.

Lada is very curious. She likes to explore boxes, packages: she climbs inside and guards them. If anyone wants to take the package, she scratches and bites. When it calls mobile phone, but we don’t hear, Lada first meows, then takes it in her teeth (by the case) and brings it to us. Sometimes, when we come home, we find the phone at the doorstep. This means that someone called from the outside, that we are not at home, the cat drags the phone to the door.

Our cat is absolutely extraordinary! Everyone knows that the cat family is afraid of water. And she is not! When my grandfather bathes her, pouring water from the shower, Lada stands calmly in the bath.

When I eat something tasty, Lada sits and looks at me with big blue eyes, and then quietly touches my knee with her white soft paw. So she asks to treat her.

Every summer we take Lada to the village. There she lives happily. He leaves and only occasionally visits us, and then completely disappears. But we know that the cat will not die of hunger: it catches mice in the barn. Although Lada is urban, she still has her instincts. Having worked up, our cat turns from white to black. So dirty, she goes to bed in my grandfather's armchair. He doesn't like it and sends Lada away. In revenge, our pet steals food from grandfather's plate. When we pick cherries, Lada climbs a tree and watches us from above.

For all these qualities and just for the fact that she is, we love her. Without a doubt, she changed our lives. For us, Lada is a member of the family. It is impossible to be bored with her, she will learn something.

Olesya Ekimova sent interesting story about Zhorike.

My pet is a pug dog named Georges, but we affectionately call him Zhorik. Zhorik is one year old. Pug is an ancient Chinese dog breed. They lived with the nobility and in rich houses. The only task of pugs for 3000 years was to accompany a person and please him. Our Zhorik also tries to adhere to this. He's a little odd. For example, from food he prefers not meat, but macaroni and cheese and buns "fagotini". He also loves to play with soft toys. He has his favorites - a bear and a cockerel. His favorite place to sleep is in the kitchen on an armchair.

Our family loves Zhorik very much. This is our little plump happiness.

Elina Korneeva, told us about the hamster Buse.

My favorite pet is a hamster named Busya.

Actually, this is a girl, and her full name- Bead.

She is very affectionate and tame, but at night she does not let the whole family sleep.

Hamsters are nocturnal rodents, and Busya is no exception, at night she gnaws loudly at the bars of her cage in order to get out and explore the apartment!

The bead can run several kilometers in search of adventure!

Busya eats everything, and seeds, and dry food, and cheese, but you won’t believe her favorite dish - these are sweet pieces of pineapple in white glaze.

We love our pet very much and take care of it every day with pleasure.

Sofia Kiyashchenko, spoke about Timka.

My favorite animal is a cat. I wanted to have a cat since childhood. And, finally, my dream came true - Tim's cat appeared at my house.
Tima has a black and white muzzle, a black back and a white tummy, a tail is also black, and her paws look like they are wearing white gloves. Timka has bright green eyes, but the color of the eyes changes when he is angry or threatening. The cat's ears are always alert - they catch every rustle.
Timka is a capricious animal. If he has good mood, he plays, allows himself to be stroked, but if he is in a bad mood, he warns about this with a kind of meow, and then it is better not to touch him. Timka climbs onto the closet, and from there watches everything that happens. Timka also loves to sit on the windowsill and look down from the height of our tenth floor. Very often he likes to play with the ball: he drives it around the room and jumps on the closet with a run. He is such a rock climber! I visited all the cabinets in the apartment!

Timka is a very smart cat. He has learned to open cabinet doors with his paws, he can open the door of a room if it is closed, and he really wants to get there. If a Entrance door is not locked, it will hang on the handle until the door opens. Timka is also a very affectionate and kind cat. I love him so much!
P.S. although our cat is lost, Sonya is still waiting for him, and in the past tense she did not want to write about him.

Vika Adeeva wrote about her pets - a cat Max and a hamster fene.

My cat Max loves to play with the bouncy ball and run after me. His breed is the British Shorthair.

Its color is grey. I love him so much. He plays not only with me, but also with Fenya the hamster.

When Max is sleeping, Fenya attacks him and bites his tail. When I release Fenya from the cage to the floor, she jumps from the bedside table to the floor and runs into the room where Max is lying.

Feni breed: c Syrian hamster. She is a month and 3 weeks old.

Maria Moiseeva wrote about her Seme the cat.

I have a cat Syoma. He is very big and strong. Syoma has a gray coat color. Most of all, the cat loves to sleep, and especially to eat. In his youth he used to catch mice. Now Sema is old, he is 10 years old. In the summer we often take it to the garden. There he basks in the sun and communicates with other cats.

I love to play with him. At night, Syoma always sleeps on my bed, and in the morning he goes to sleep with his mother. When guests come to us, he always greets them warmly. I love my cat very much.

My cat's name is Peach. The breed is a mixture of British and Persian. He's three years old. Peach loves to eat. He is very cunning, he knows where the food is, and when everyone leaves, he climbs onto the closet and eats cat food straight from the can. But he drinks water exclusively from a three-liter jar, which we fill every day especially for him. He is also very lazy, when Peach was little, he ran 24 hours a day, and now he sleeps 23 hours a day, and eats for another hour! Here we have such a lazy person!

Vika Adeeva loves his dog breed h ihuahua.

The Chihuahua is a very popular pet dog breed today. This is a fairly active little and cheerful dog, which is distinguished by curiosity. Many are attracted by her proud posture, liveliness, these dogs are very jumpy, move easily and freely. Chihuahuas are easy to train and love people. These dogs are strong and gentle at the same time. I really like this dog.

My cat's name is Sima, she is 5 years old. She is a mixture of an ordinary cat and the Maine Coon breed, so she is very large and fluffy, she is incredibly pleasant to pet.

She spends most of her life on the couch in my room. She loves to sleep very much. Moreover, Sima sleeps rather strangely - lying on his back, which is very rare for cats.

Her other favorite pastime is begging for food. We feed her special cat food, but sometimes we spoil her with regular food from the table. Pet care manuals don't recommend doing this, but my mom doesn't agree. She likes to cut the sausage into small cubes and throw it to her, Sima likes it very much. She likes it when they throw these pieces high, and she jumps after them.

In addition, the cat loves to play with the ball. We bought her a special, small ball, and she can roll it for hours. She throws him up, rolls him over, rolls over with him, it's all very funny to watch.

Naturally, Sima loves to be stroked. Once a day, she will definitely climb onto my stomach so that I can stroke her. At the same time, she begins to purr loudly and try to rub against my face. It can be seen that such caresses give her great pleasure.

My cat is not very hospitable, especially does not like children. At the sight of children, she immediately begins to hiss and may scratch them. One day we were leaving, and we had to give it to our friends. Unfortunately, all week she sat under the sofa. I felt very sorry for her.

I really like my cat, I'm glad that she is the way she is. I always miss when I part with her, and she is always glad to see me too.
