Phone aiek a9 instructions for connection. The thinnest phone

Good afternoon.

I present to your attention a review of a good mini-phone. Of course, he will not replace a smartphone, but he performs the tasks assigned to him on "5". Summary - take it if you need a tiny phone for calls / sms. Details are below.

About the need for a mini-dialer

So, why do I need such a baby? The fact is that I finally decided to take care of my health and enrolled in sport Club. And I immediately realized that I wouldn’t be able to carry my Lenovo P780 to classes - it’s too big and heavy, and putting it on the floor by the simulator is too risky, because I myself will be the first to step on it. The wireless headset also disappears due to the short range. So I did without a phone for some time, until I missed a couple of important calls. The question arose of buying a simple and cheap, small and light mobile phone for calls to carry in the pocket of shorts and turn on call forwarding to it during training. If it comes with a radio and an mp3 player, it's generally great, you won't have to carry two devices.

Offline searches somehow did not please: yes, there are light, inexpensive models, but they are all not small and thin enough, and those that more or less fit no longer fit into the concept of “inexpensive”. What does a Muscovite do in this case? That's right, looking in China. The range of mini-phones turned out to be wider there than at home, and after a short consideration of the candidates, he was chosen, the hero of the review, AIEK M3!

About characteristics

Description from the seller:
I will add: there is a vibration! No not like this: VIBRA!!! Very nuclear, one of the strongest I've ever had.
There is no built-in memory, you need to buy an additional card if you want to listen to music.
As you can see, the phone is available for order in three colors:

The phone can be one- and two-SIM (the difference in price is $0.99), I chose with one SIM card, the second one is useless to me. Also, for an additional $2.99, the seller can add an 8 GB microSD card, which I took advantage of. The card turned out to be SanDisk class 4 (according to the inscriptions), the volume is honest 8 GB, the speed is similar to class 4.

About shipping and packing

Delivery pleased, the seller sends the goods by Singapore post, arrived faster than the average flies through China post. The packaging is standard, a box with a phone in a yellow bag with a bubble wrap inside. But we must pay tribute to the post office staff - the box was not even wrinkled and would be quite suitable for a gift. I won’t torture you with views of the yellow package from all sides, there is nothing unusual in it, but here is a photo of the box itself:

Box dimensions: 120x70x40mm, weight 149 g.

About the package

Included: the phone itself (in protective films on both sides), charger, USB-microUSB cable, headset with microUSB plug and a useless manual completely in Chinese

The headset, of course, is of average scall, but in the noise that is in the hall, its quality is quite enough for me. By the way, it is stereo and very loud. I can’t test the sound with other headphones yet, the microUSB - 3.5mm jack adapter has not yet arrived.

Charger with "our" plug, promised output current 500mA

About appearance

Let's move on to appearance phone itself.
Its dimensions almost exactly repeat the dimensions of a bank / discount plastic card, 86x55mm, thickness 6.5mm, weight 40g.

I will not apply a ruler, just take any card and you will immediately understand how tiny it is.

Here's how it fits in my medium sized hand:

Yes, the front and back surfaces are glossy and collect fingerprints well, but in reality they are not as visible as in the photo.

Compared to Lenovo P780 (far from a "shovel", only 5 ""):

Less in area - 2.79 times, in thickness - 1.53 times, in weight - 4.4 times!

At the bottom there are holes for threading a cord, a microUSB port for charging / headset and a RESET-ON switch. About his appointment - see below. The rest of the ends are empty.

All buttons on the front surface are touch-sensitive, except for the bottom button, it is pressed shallowly with a clear click. The keyboard is backlit with bright white LEDs.

The back cover is removed by sliding it up. It slides tight, it won't come off by accident. Below it we see: a slot for a SIM card (the usual "mini" size, not "micro"), a slot for a microSD card and a non-removable battery under the sticker. I won’t explore deeper, because usually it doesn't end well.

The screen of the phone is 1 inch diagonal, 480x320 resolution. UPD: most likely 128x64, thanks to the commentators."Colored" in the description of the seller is partly true, the top line is yellow, the rest are blue. In the top line, as usual, various icons are displayed: signal strength, battery charge, bluetooth connection, alarm clock, player, unread messages, etc.

The inserts on the top and bottom of the front panel are aluminum, everything else is plastic.

Well, probably enough photos, let's go directly to the description of the functionality of the device.

About menus and functions

The phone turns on and off literally in 3 seconds, almost instantly, I have already lost the habit of this.

The menu structure here is the same as on many mobile phones without a touchscreen: left-right arrows - move through the menu items, up and down - through the sub-items. Button "MENU" - selection / confirmation, "BACK" - cancel / return. Everything is simple and convenient. This is what the menu items look like:

There is a Russian language, but here I decided not to include it, because. the menu does not always look nice on it, the names are longer than English ones. At the same time, sms and contacts in Russian are displayed correctly. By the way, if you notice, there is no Cyrillic alphabet on the buttons, so typing messages in Russian will not be very convenient.

Let's go over the points, shall we?
1.Phonebook/Phone book
You can add, edit, delete contacts. There is a search. You can work with contacts both on the SIM card and in the phone's memory (phone book for 100 contacts).
2. Call center
There is a call log, the time and duration of each call is remembered. Many call settings - call forwarding, black list, answer with any button, auto answer when a headset is connected, etc.
3.Messaging
Here, of course, everything is connected with sms and their settings.
4. Multimedia / Multimedia
There are 4 sub-items: audio player, audio recorder, FM radio and file manager. The player plays mp3 from the “My Music” folder on the memory card, the recorder writes recordings from the microphone in the .amr format to the “Audio” folder. The radio works only when headphones are connected (as an antenna, as usual), reception is not always reliable, but it is quite possible to listen. The file manager allows you to delete and rename files and folders on the memory card.
5. Organizer/Organizer
Here: a calendar, an alarm clock (already 5 pieces), a calculator.
6.Settings
All kinds of phone settings. Everything is configurable! Sound and vibration when pressing keys, melodies for calls and notifications (moreover, you can select mp3 from the card!), sounds when you turn the phone on and off, backlight duration, shortcut keys, profiles, etc., etc…
7. SIM toolkit/Services
This is access to the SIM menu of your OPSOS
8.Bluetooth
Bluetooth works fine and pairs well with other devices. BUT! When connecting a bluetooth stereo headset, the sound was only mono and of poor quality. Apparently, there is no A2DP in the phone, only HSP.

There are profiles, 4 pieces, arbitrarily configured: melodies, vibration, volume for each event has its own, the volume of pressing the keys.

When connected to a computer, it asks "Mass storage or COM port?".
In the first mode, you can work with a memory card directly from your computer without removing it.
Selecting "COM port" seems to allow the phone to be used as a modem, here are the Linux kernel messages:
usb 6-3.1: new full-speed USB device number 9 using ehci-pci cdc_acm 6-3.1:1.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM device usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_acm cdc_acm: USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters usbcore : registered new interface driver usbserial usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic usbserial: USB Serial support registered for generic usbcore: registered new interface driver option usbserial: USB Serial support registered for GSM modem (1-port) , by GPRS? There is no mention of this in the settings at all.
And yes, both modes are charging.

It's funny that when assigning an action to the arrow buttons, there are options for "Camera" and "Image viewer". But it doesn’t allow taking pictures :), it goes to reboot.

About buttons

The mechanical button under the digital long press (about 2 seconds) turns on / off the phone, and short - locks / unlocks the keyboard.
The switch on the lower end: ON - the phone is on, RESET - completely off, de-energized. It is convenient to save the battery, but after the "reset" the time and date are reset. In this case, all other settings are saved.

About the battery

My mode of use is quite specific - about 2 hours of mp3 / radio + about 10 calls per day of training, the phone lives quietly for 3 such days. Maybe the fourth would have lasted, but I prefer not to be left without a connection and load. The consumption of the phone is generally miserable (no screen, no data transfer), people write about 5-6 days of use without recharging, which is very similar to the truth.
Tested mp3 playback in headphones at maximum volume - more than 8 hours in a row.
When the charge level is low, the phone beeps softly and writes “Battery low”, warns of the near end. At the end of charging, it writes “Charging complete”, and the battery indicator stops “running”, i.e. you do not have to worry about overcharging the battery, which happens with some cheap gadgets. Full charge time from computer port is about 1 hour.

About the quality of communication

In the city, the phone shows the maximum signal level almost everywhere (of course, except for elevators and basements). The speaker is loud and clear, they also hear me very well, the interlocutors say that they hear even better than from other devices.

About a fly in the ointment

The Chinese can't help but mess up. When charging is connected, the unlock button does not work, i.e. It is almost impossible to use the phone, you have to turn it off to make a call. It's good that when a call comes in, it will be unlocked, and you can answer the call. And it also pleases with a short charging time.
It is possible that this is a malfunction of my particular copy, there are very few reviews about the M3, there is nothing to compare with.
UPD: The cant was confirmed in the comments.
UPD2: As it turned out, it is unlocked ONLY when using a native cable, thanks to user vik710 for the hint.

About the pros

+ of course the dimensions and weight
+ excellent call quality
+ mp3, FM
+ very loud speaker for such a baby, it is almost impossible to miss a call
+ powerful vibration
+ many different settings

About cons

- no 3.5mm headphone jack, fixed by buying a microUSB adapter
- when typing, when you need to quickly press one button several times, sometimes clicks are missed, you have to correct errors
- when charging is connected, it does not unlock ( when using a non-native cable, everything is OK with the native)
- hardware shutdown resets time and date
- can't A2DP

TOTAL

I am completely satisfied with this creation of Chinese developers and manufacturers, I did not expect such a quality and number of functions from it. Of course, it will not become the main phone, but as an additional / spare for situations where the use of the main one is not desirable, it is ideal.
The minuses mentioned above are objective, they could not be ignored, but for me personally they are all insignificant, the pluses are much more significant. The tasks that I set for AIEK M3, he solves "excellently".
Also, this baby, it seems to me, will be a good phone option for a child: there are no games and the Internet (you don’t have to worry about unexpected expenses), and if it loses / breaks, it’s not as pitiful as a more expensive option.

I apologize for the quality of the photo, we do not have the sun, and we have to use a flash.

Telephone is an electrical device that allows people to exchange information over a distance using an electrical signal. The word telephone came to us from ancient Greece. Tele - translates as "far", and background - "voice".

After reading the article, any home master can easily connect a landline, fax or several parallel phones, including a radiotelephone.

What is the voltage in the telephone line

The telephone communication line is under 40-60 V DC voltage if the telephone is not connected or connected, but the handset is placed on the telephone set. During a call, the voltage in the communication line becomes variable with an amplitude of up to 120 V. When you pick up the handset, the voltage drops to 6-12 V. This voltage is not life-threatening, but it can cause discomfort.

It is impossible to disable the communication line or damage the telephone set during connection. Shutdown may occur telephone line for a few minutes if the handset is off-hook for a long time without dialing, or if the communication line conductors are short-circuited. The telephone line is automatically switched off by an automatic telephone exchange (ATS) to save electricity. So you can safely proceed to independently connect the phone to the communication line.

Before connecting a fixed telephone, fax or radiotelephone to the communication line, it is desirable, but not necessary, to check that the communication line is ready. Line voltage can be measured with a voltmeter, designed to measure direct voltage.

If the phone is not connected or connected to the line, and the handset is on the phone, the device should show a voltage of 40-60 V. If there is no voltmeter, you can check using potatoes, and this is not a joke, but a real way to check. It is enough to stick the noodle wires stripped of insulation into the cut of the potato. Batteries are not needed, as the wires are already energized.

What current will flow
in the event of a short circuit in telephone line wires

The automatic telephone exchange has a protection system against failure of equipment and communication lines, which limits the current in case of a short circuit of the telephone line to 40 mA.

For the communication line, one of the free pairs is taken, brown or blue. A twisted pair consists of two wires twisted together. The insulation of one of them is painted with a solid color, and the insulation of the second is white with stripes of the color of the first.

Hello again, my dear readers.
The hero of my review was an ultra-thin phone received from Aliexpress, which is called AIEK M5. The phone is available for order in various color solutions. My AIEK is painted in green color. The phone really has stylish design, here we were not deceived, extremely compact and ultra-thin. The dimensions of the phone are the same size as a credit card, so it will fit in your wallet without any problems. And if you, like me, are a fan of carrying devices in the pockets of your trousers, then this phone practically does not protrude from your pocket.
Thanks to its design, AIEK M5 will attract the attention of your friends, colleagues and family. They will not remain indifferent, believe me, personally experienced.
I would like to immediately note its packaging and delivery, and then delve into its characteristics in more detail.
Well, the phone was received in the most ordinary cardboard box.

Let's not wait long and open the box itself and see what our Chinese friend put us interesting. At first it may seem that this is a case for your smartphone, but in fact it is not, and inside this box lies an even smaller phone.

In general, there is nothing interesting here, except for the phone itself. Next to the phone is a MicroUSB cable for charging. The power supply is not provided in the kit, which is a pity.

The cable is typical Chinese, has a flat section. The length is very short. Fortunately, the MicroUSB charging connector, and thanks to this, AIEK M5 can be easily charged with any other charger, which, of course, has a MicroUSB port.
And before looking at the phone closer, I want to offer you its main specifications declared directly by the seller:
1. Talk time: 4-6 hours
2. Number of SIM: 1 MicroSIM card
3. Battery capacity: 320mAh
4. cellular: GSM
5. Display: 1 inch TFT display.
6. Memory: ROM less than 2GB, RAM 128MB.
7. Overall dimensions: 85x55x4.5 mm
8. Bluetooth- for connecting headphones.
I can’t personally check the amount of memory, I looked around the settings and didn’t find the memory check point, and I can’t download AnTuTu Benchmark in any way. I had to take my word for it. It seems to me that our seller exaggerated the amount of RAM a little.
Bluetooth headphones for testing could not be found. However, it connects to another phone, but when you try to transfer the file, it refers to a lack of space.

The most interesting thing that I noticed is that the seller indicates the screen resolution as 480x320, but it can be seen with the naked eye that this resolution does not smell here. I would also like to immediately make a comment about the frames around the display. Yes, they are larger than the display itself. It was much cooler to make the diagonal bigger, and not just visually expand the screen with thick bezels.

Of course, the material of the case does not shine with quality, so the front part is a little worn after a year of use and is literally a magnet for scratches, and the back part is just as prone to scratching and collecting all the dust, thanks to its texture.
All possible ports and buttons are gathered on the bottom of the phone.

On the left in the photo is a slot for a microSIM card. Previously, there was a plug, but it was so flimsy that it came off in the first month of use and was safely lost. On the right side is the connection port charger, MicroUSB connector. And between them is a slider button, which is responsible for disconnecting the phone from the battery and resetting the settings. By the way, be careful with this button, pulling the phone out of your pocket. If you press it, the alarm will no longer work. It is worth noting that the phone should be turned off and on using the call reset button. Then the alarm clock will work.

All other controls are located on the front panel.

To the left of the top of the screen is the earpiece. Next to it is the name of the model: M5. Further, everything is simple.

The "M" and "C" buttons are standard selection and back keys, which can simultaneously perform the functions of accessing the menu and deleting a character, respectively. The arrows are used to navigate through the phone menu. And the symbolic-numeric buttons are used to dial messages and numbers. Between the button "7" and "*" is a microphone.
Do not be embarrassed that the phone from the review has only an English layout. This is an oversight of the seller, for which he paid the price and reimbursed part of the cost of the goods. In fact, English, Russian and Arabic keyboards are available for ordering. The keys themselves are slightly convex. To press them, you have to make some effort, maybe it's only on my model.
Now I propose to measure the overall dimensions, maybe here they are trying to fool us.
I don't have a caliper, so I had to measure with a ruler. I admit some errors, but in general, the sizes should not differ catastrophically.

I measured the length 85mm, width 54mm, thickness 5mm. Well, I believe that this corresponds to the declared by the seller, since the measurements were not taken with the appropriate tool.

And now, with your permission, I will insert a few words from myself.
I have been using the phone for about a year. During this time, the main drawback can be called the low volume of the speaker and microphone. That is, I hear the interlocutor badly, exactly the same as he does me. But nevertheless, with an incoming call, the beep yells like a cut one.
The power off button is also not conveniently made - it can always be touched by something.
However, the phone has a number of advantages that make it stand out from all modern phones - it's its design, it's ultra-thin and incredibly compact, it's light and not afraid of falls, as most smartphones are afraid of. As for battery life, AIEK M5 lasts about 5 days on a single charge, however, if you make intensive calls, the charge will be consumed faster. But this is not a problem, because it charges just as quickly.
That's all I wanted to tell, and buy it or not, it's up to you!

What is it anyway? Why does it have such a specific name? The whole point lies in the fact that the main purpose is to be accessible to everyone and everyone.

general information

Its dimensions do not exceed the dimensions of a credit card, and the thickness is 6.5mm.

Since it mobile phone, it does not have operating system, type Android or iOS. It's just a dialer that has its own secrets.

However, it all starts with the packaging. The box is shaped like a book, inside is the phone itself and USB charging cable. Charging is done by connecting to PC or laptop. There is no network adapter included.

Technical and functional capabilities

The display is very small, with a minimal user interface, made with technology OLED, natural black and white. I was surprised that it is covered with an oleophobic coating and a protective film is installed on it directly from the factory. This is very surprising, considering that the phone is disposable and costs 10$ .

Equally important is the issue of autonomy. Here is a battery with a capacity 320 mAh, able to live 3 days without recharging. But if you buy a good one power bank and connect it to your phone, it will increase battery life by 900% . And it will be almost autonomous for a whole month.

It has one unique feature that is inaccessible to anyone - a hardware switch on the bottom, it completely disconnects the battery from the power circuit. This negates battery drain. This function is simply vital for all smartphones.

phone supports GSM and CDMA networks, and also allows you to use Bluetooth in a completely new way. The device can act as a headset for other phones or tablets. It can safely take voice calls while your primary device is in your backpack or other hard-to-reach place.

AT this phone there is a slot for a memory card, a built-in file manager and a port microUSB. This means that it can also be used as an external drive, for example, for a camera.

Also, the most important function, which is missing on many smartphones - this is FM radio. The phone is pre-installed with a calendar that ends 31 December 2030 year, a bit of a mystery date.

Yes, the phone case may be made of plastic, but it is certified according to the standard IP68. This means that you can easily go to the pool with it, it is not afraid of rain and dirt. But still, if you manage to break it, you can always buy a new one.

Probably many are interested in why it is also called disposable. This epithet stuck to this phone for the simple reason that if you lose a device, you can come home and get a new one from the box where there are a hundred of the same ones, and then continue to use the phone.

you take such cardphones in your hand for the first time, you are afraid to break them, but then you get used to it and use it without problems. The previous model Aiek M5, although it was a couple of millimeters thinner, was significantly inferior in functionality. For example , Aiek M7 has both FM radio and MP3 player , besides the model has more capacious battery and microSD card slot .

Phone Dimensions

The next order in the virtual store was one of the smallest phones in the world - Aiek M7. This brand has long been known for its “cardphones" - mobile phones that are more like a credit card than a phone. A length of 85 mm and a width of 55 mm are quite standard parameters, but a thickness of just over 6 mm is a serious indicator.

So, despite such minimalism in size, this model has a full range of functions required for a phone, and even more.

credit card device

According to its design, the M7 is a monoblock, on the front side of which there is an inch display and a keyboard with illuminated keys. On the reverse side there are only slots for SIM-cards and microSD-cards.

The back cover of the phone is not removable, but at the same time, the slot covers are very reliable and comfortable, which could not be said about the thin rubber "valves" on the M5.

At the bottom is a micro-USB connector for charging and connecting headphones, as well as a battery disconnect button. It is convenient to use if you are going to turn off the phone for a long time. A disconnected battery will hold a charge longer, and it will “live” longer.

Price and order of the smallest mobile phone

The phone is made of durable plastic , on the reverse side there is a design drawing made with the help of small round recesses . In a word, the device looks decent and modern. The company produces a model in three colors - white, black and gold. The white color was chosen simply because such a phone costs almost 100 rubles less. On average, this model can be purchased online for 1100 rubles. Directly - an unprecedented price for a phone!

The order was sent by the store on the third day, but the delivery was a little late, so I had to extend the buyer's protection. True, the seller turned out to be scrupulous, he himself checked the movement of goods in Russia and said that the parcel was already at the post office in my city.

The cardphone was packed in an envelope with bubble wrap inside. The box itself is more like a booklet. Inside, apart from the phone itself, there is only a USB cable. Given the cost of the device, manufacturers do not indulge buyers with luxury in the form of instructions, headphones, and even charging. However , this did not make Aiek M7 any worse .
