Do-it-yourself electronic bite indicator. Do-it-yourself electronic bite alarm - step by step instructions

The bite of pike perch or pike cannot be confused with the bite of other fish. It stands out with energy, associated with the developed instinct of chasing prey.

Experienced fishing enthusiasts, in order to detect bites, make a kind of loop from a fishing line, which is attached to a fishing rod with a clamp. The loop is able to straighten up and pop out of the clip only with a fairly large tension of the fishing line. In this article, we will consider the original do-it-yourself electronic bite alarm, which can immediately inform the angler with an acoustic signal of a clear bite.

Description of the electronic bite alarm circuit

The electronic signaling device has the ability to control the duration of the sound signal. The operation of the signaling device is organized on fixing the moment when the fishing line passes between two closed contacts. At the time of the passage of the fishing line between these contacts, a short-term opening occurs. This opening fixes the electronic circuit of the signaling device and gives an acoustic signal of a given duration.

The sensor plates can be elastic contacts of an electromagnetic relay. These contacts are connected in the voltage divider circuit to R1, R2. When the sensor is closed, the voltage at input 6 of the DD1 chip is close to the supply voltage, since the resistance R2 is greater than R1. With a short-term opening of the sensor plates, the input 6 DD1 receives a pulse triggering a single vibrator. The operating time of a single vibrator depends on the elements C1, R3, R4.

The low frequency generator is made on a multivibrator consisting of elements DD2.1 and DD2.2. Elements DD2.3 and DD2.4 are designed to amplify the voltage for the operation of the piezoelectric emitter. Trimmer resistor R7 helps to adjust the frequency of the multivibrator to the resonant frequency of the piezoelectric emitter, in order to obtain the highest volume of the electronic signaling device.

All experienced fishermen know how difficult it is sometimes to peer into the float for hours, trying not to miss the bite. The glare of the sun and the wind hurt the eyes, the body stiffens from immobility. And fishing at night, when the float is not really visible?
The perfect solution to all these problems - electronic bite alarm, which can be assembled at home in a few evenings. There are probably a lot of schemes, tips and recommendations on the Internet for making such devices, but many of them are rather dubious. We present you the most reliable, time-tested mechanisms.

Preparation for work

Before you start making an electronic bite alarm with your own hands, it is advisable to acquire the necessary tools and materials. Of the tools you will need: wire cutters or pliers, soldering iron, multimeter, knife. The choice of materials and parts completely depends on which of the described types of signaling devices you will work on, but in any case you will need: solder and flux for soldering, wires with a cross section of 0.15 ... 0.5 mm, AA batteries, LEDs or light bulbs (they can be obtained from old flashlights or garlands), a button or toggle switch for turning the device on / off, plywood or thick cardboard for making body parts, electrical tape and glue.

The simplest light indicator

For creating light indicator no special knowledge in the field of electronics, no expensive parts are required. The electrical circuit will consist of only three components - a power source (an ordinary finger-type battery is fine), an LED or incandescent lamp from an old 1.5-3 volt flashlight and any type of sensor. For now, consider the application as a sensor closing reed switch, and at the end of the article you can read about other possible types of sensors. So, the reed switch is a glass bulb, inside of which there are movable and fixed metal contacts. The principle of operation of the reed switch is simple - when a magnet is brought to the case, the contacts close and electricity. It is most logical to solder the circuit by surface mounting, although you can do without soldering at all. If you are using an LED, pay attention to its polarity. The signaling device is fixedly mounted in any housing of a suitable size, while the magnet is fixed inside the housing not far from the reed switch on a flexible springy strip, for example, galvanized. Lead to a magnet extra line so that when it is pulled, the magnet approaches the reed switch and closes it. The second end of the additional fishing line is attached to the main fishing line with a clip-clip from headphones or an ordinary clothespin. Now the result of any bite will be a bright glow of our signaling device.

Required radio components:

  • Battery type AA or AAA - 1 pc.
  • Closing reed switch

Improving the mechanism

A light indicator is a great solution for night fishing, but does not eliminate the need for constant eye contact with the device. A combined signaling device will help to solve this problem - in addition to the light indication, it will give sound signals.

The principle of operation of the device and the drive mechanism will remain unchanged, but you will have to work on the circuit. In parallel with the light source, it is necessary to connect a circuit responsible for generating sounds, for example, multivibrator, capable of making the speaker "beep" at different frequencies. A classic multivibrator circuit based on two bipolar transistors of the same structure is suitable (it is better to use transistors n-p-n structures, for example, well known to all radio amateurs KT315). The capacitors used are electrolytic, when connecting them, do not forget to observe the polarity and make sure that the maximum voltage allowed for the capacitor is not exceeded (capacitors of 16 volts and above can be safely used). Resistors are suitable for any type, with a power of 0.25 watts. The capacitance of the capacitors and the resistance of the base resistors will set the frequency of the sound, it is better to determine them by selection or initially install tuning resistors. We will replace one of the resistors connected to the collectors of transistors with a speaker with a resistance of 8 ohms and a power of at least 0.5 watts. By combining multivibrators with different parameters, various complex sounds can be achieved. You can even find schemes to imitate the singing of a nightingale or the mewing of a cat. Whichever scheme you choose, you will most likely have to pick up another current source - perhaps a pack of several batteries or an old mobile phone battery.

Required radio components (when using a simple multivibrator):

  • Battery type AA or AAA - 3 pcs
  • Closing reed switch with a resistance of not more than 200 Ohm - 1 pc.
  • LED or incandescent lamp for rated voltage 1.5-3 V - 1 pc.
  • Resistor resistance 100 ... 500 Ohm (pick up) - 1 pc.
  • Resistor resistance 10 ... 50 kOhm (pick up) - 2 pcs
  • Capacitor electrolytic with a capacity of at least 10 microfarads (select) - 2 pcs
  • Transistor bipolar (we recommend KT315, KT3102 or BC547) - 2 pcs
  • speaker resistance 8 Ohm - 1 pc.
  • toggle switch or slide switch (light/sound switching)–1

Video lesson

If you have an old broken one quartz alarm clock, do not rush to throw it away - the part of its circuit responsible for the sound supply may well help you in creating an electronic bite signaling device. The principle of operation of such a mechanism is similar to that described in the previous section, with the only caveat that instead of a multivibrator, an alarm sound module is included in the circuit. Technical documentation or a multimeter will help determine the necessary contact points on the board. The reed switch acts as a sensor, as before.

Can be used as an alarm clock pager, doorbell, children's toys- any simple device capable of making sounds. Each of them has its own disadvantages and advantages, but the principle of their use is the same - we find and connect the section of the circuit we need.

At the end of the last century, they were very popular musical postcards. If you still have one, the manufacture of a bite signaling device will be much simpler, because the postcards used a similar principle of operation. Having disassembled the postcard, you will find the same reed switch, a board responsible for generating sounds and a piezoelectric element - the simplest sound emitter. It remains only to place a board and a magnet in the case. The design flaw is a low volume, so when fishing, the signaling device will have to be kept as close to you as possible. Another solution to the problem is to add to the schema audio frequency amplifier. It will be easiest to assemble a single-stage bipolar transistor amplifier, but you can create a more complex design. A good result will be the use amplifier chips, for example, TDA2003 - its price is less than 30 rubles. An 8 ohm speaker and an additional power supply must be connected to the amplifier.

Sensors

Energy of sun

A very reasonable solution would be backup power electronic bite alarm solar battery located on the body of the device. Solar battery You can buy it, or you can make your own if you want. High-voltage multi-chip diodes with a removed case, some types of transistors are well suited for this. But the easiest way is to connect diodes in a transparent case in series to generate the required voltage and in parallel to generate the required current. All these indicators are easy to control with an ordinary multimeter, and the manufacture of such a module will be excellent. practical exercise by soldering. The use of Soviet diodes of the D2 and D9 series is most justified in terms of price, power and ease of manufacture.

We hope our article was useful to you. Collect an electronic bite alarm and go fishing as soon as possible. Good luck with your catch!

Most anglers use bottom tackle, which is distinguished by its catchability and simple design. But in order to effectively use donks, signaling devices are needed.

Even on self-securing rigs, the angler must react to the bite in time and carefully lead the fish into the landing net. On feeder rods, a flexible whip - a quiver-tip - serves as a sentry, by bending and fluctuations of which the bite of a fish is visible.

When fishing with other bottom gear, signaling devices are needed:

  • sound;
  • visual;
  • combined type.

Electronic signaling devices provide both audible and visual registration. When a fish bites, electronic signaling devices for donkey emit a sound signal, lights on them light up, creating a visual effect.

The principle of operation of the gatehouse for the donkey is based on the fact that at the time of the bite, the fishing line transmits vibrations of the equipment, fixed by the signaling device. The fish, having captured the nozzle, moves in an arbitrary direction. The signaling device for the donkey reacts to the pulls of the fishing line, regardless of their strength.

A powerful jerk is much more noticeable - it can be fixed by both factory and makeshift fixture. Larger fish often bite cautiously, and it is important for the signaling device to be sensitive in order to fix such a bite.

Requirements for signaling devices for donkey:

  • high sensitivity;
  • simplicity of design;
  • water protection;
  • reasonable price.

Each angler chooses bite indication devices depending on:

  • fishing conditions;
  • own needs;
  • weather conditions;
  • estimated fish in the catch;
  • time of day.

At night, visual indicators are ineffective, even when illuminated. It is impossible to sit for several hours without taking your eyes off the rod, and if you get distracted, you will miss the bite. Therefore, at night, sound sensors are needed for the donkey. And if they also provide a visual effect, the return on such equipment is significantly increased.

The weight of the transducer is important, and this applies not only to the convenience of the angler. In strong winds, the lightweight design will show false bites, and the meaning of the device itself is tripled.

It is not difficult to buy a signaling device; models are sold in stores for both summer and winter fishing. But quality gear doesn't come cheap. Therefore, many anglers prefer to make their own sensors from improvised materials, it is both cheaper and takes a little time.

Do-it-yourself bite alarm

The most common homemade donkey gatehouses are:

  • pendulum type;
  • nod type.

A homemade universal signaling device for donks is mounted on a fishing line and attached to the rod rings. When a fish bites, the tackle, which is in a taut state, changes its position in the water, and the fishing line shifts, transmitting vibrations to the gatehouse.

The advantage of such a signaling device is that it is attached to the rod and remains hanging on its ring during hooking. However, the angler needs to keep an eye on the bottom tackle with a hand-made pendulum bottom sensor in order to make the hooking in time.

The easiest way

To make the simplest pendulum tracking sensor for a donkey, you will need:

  • piece of aluminum or copper wire 20-25 cm long;
  • 2 cambric with a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the wire section;
  • lead weight with a ring;
  • pliers.

The procedure for making a homemade tracking sensor for the donkey:

  1. put the load on the wire and fix it in the middle by twisting the wire into a ring;
  2. put cambric on the wire;
  3. bend the ends of the wire into rings and fix them with cambric.

Mounting on the bottom:

  • move the cambric and hook the wire ring on the bottom ring of the rod;
  • fix the gatehouse with a cambric;
  • move the second cambric and put the ring on the fishing line;
  • fix the ring with a cambric.

Due to the load, a home-made signaling device will pull the fishing line, and when biting, transmit a signal about this, moving in a vertical direction.

After fishing, the bite indicator is removed from the line and stored in the tackle box. The manufacture of such a device will take 5-7 minutes, it is convenient to transport and operate.

Pendulum signaling device

Homemade pendulum signaling devices are attached to a stretched fishing line of a rod and, when biting, make movements similar to the movements of a pendulum.

The simplest pendulum gatehouse consists of:

  • bell;
  • rubber stopper or a rectangular piece of foam rubber.

To make such a device, you need:

  1. cut a piece of rubber in the shape of a parallelepiped, 5 × 2 × 1 cm in size;
  2. insert a bell ring from the end of the rubber and fix it with wire or thread;
  3. on the opposite end of the rubber, make an incision with a blade to fix the sensor on the fishing line of the rod.

After casting the tackle, the rod is placed on a stand, and the guard is attached to the line below the last ring of the rod. Due to the weight of the indicator, tension is created on the line, when biting, it begins to move in a horizontal plane, warning the angler about the need for hooking.

After hooking, the signaling device flies off the line, without creating problems when playing the caught fish. In order not to look for the flying guard in the grass, a piece of thin rope or fishing line is attached to the elastic band, which clings to the rod stand with the other end.

Kinder bite alarm

The simplest wire donkey alarm can be improved with a plastic case from a Kinder Surprise toy. It needs to be fixed on a fishing line instead of a lead weight, which will make it possible to adjust the weight of the weighting agent.

In strong winds, pendulum signaling devices for donkeys turn out to be ineffective due to false alarms. It is necessary to make the load heavier, and for this, additional lead loads are placed in the body from the Kinder Surprise.

A lighter sensor is more sensitive, but if the weather calls for it, it's better to make it heavier to provide the necessary comfort.

In order for the signaling device for the donkey from Kinder Surprise to work when the fish bite towards the shore, you need to tighten the main fishing line more and put a load of at least 20 grams.

Electronic indicators for donkeys have serious advantages over other similar accessories:

  • are highly sensitive;
  • do not register false bites;
  • fix bites towards the shore;
  • allow the angler to be distracted from the tackle;
  • Easily mounted on racks or rod pods.

The high cost of donkey electronic devices, with active use, quickly pays off. Now there are electronic devices in stores Chinese made with fastening directly to the rod.

To install such a sensor on a tackle, you do not need a rod-pod or stand, it is fixed on the form and does not require any additional devices. Independently, an electronic device will be able to be made by those who know how to hold a soldering iron in their hands and are able to distinguish a resistor from a microcircuit.

For this you need:

  • small plastic alarm clock;
  • resistor;
  • piece of hard steel wire 25-30 cm.

Production order:

  1. the extreme contacts of the resistor are soldered together;
  2. the middle contact of the resistor is attached with a wire to the alarm clock board;
  3. the resistor is attached to the alarm clock body with glue;
  4. holes are made with an awl in the case opposite the resistor hole;
  5. a nod with a curved tip is made from the wire for attaching the fishing line;
  6. a nod of wire is rigidly attached to the hole in the housing (resistor).

Such a device is attached to the blank of the rod with adhesive tape, the tackle is thrown, the whip is installed on the rack. The fishing line should be tight, a nod is fixed on it, and the guard is ready for use.

Donkey buzzers are necessary when the angler needs to take his mind off the process, or when several rods are used. Thanks to the sound indication, you can fully control the process and respond in a timely manner to a possible bite of the fish.

by the most simple example sound indicator bite is served by a bell with an elastic band, the design of which was discussed above. Anglers also use bells or rattles, which are attached to the donkey whip with a clothespin and, when it vibrates, make a loud and melodic sound.

Sound sensors are also effective at night, but it is desirable that there be also a light indication. Ball bells have a special hole for a fishing firefly that can signal rod swings during night fishing.

A few years ago, anglers invented various designs of light indicators on LEDs or fireflies, but now there is no such need. Chinese LED devices for registering bites are quite inexpensive, you don’t need to invent something, it’s easier to buy a ready-made accessory.

When fishing on donks, indicators play a big role. After all, several donoks are most often used, and it is very difficult to do without additional means of indicating fish bites.

Electronic as well as mechanical bite alarms are used by many anglers. Not only carp fishing enthusiasts actively use such devices, but also feeder and bottom fishing enthusiasts, because amateur feeder fishing does not involve such frequent recasts as it happens with sport fishing. Thanks to such indicators, you can leave gear for a certain time without fear of missing a bite. However, quality products from well-known manufacturers often cost a lot, so the question of how to make an electronic bite alarm with your own hands remains relevant despite the variety of such devices on the shelves of fishing stores.

The simplest bite indicators can be made on your own, without having any experience with electronics and electrical circuits at all. Some simple bite alarms do not even require the angler to be able to work with a soldering iron.

Option number 1

You will need:

  • Light-emitting diode
  • small coin cell
  • Heat shrink tubing for the battery.
  • Two silicone tubes, one of which must match the diameter of the LED.

First you need to cut the heat shrink tube so that when you put the batteries in it, about 1-1.5 cm of the tube remains on both sides. Insert a silicone tube inside, then with a lighter, or other source of fire, and burn until the tube is fixed on both sides.

Important! From the side where the LED will be located, the tube should be removed.

Place the LED inside the silicone tube, and then isolate it from contact with water using transparent silicone glue. It is also desirable to glue the fastening end, not forgetting to leave a place for attaching the structure to the float. This homemade bite alarm can also be used for night float fishing, and mounted on carp, feeder rods or donks when fishing at night. With the same device, you can improve the pendulum bite signaling device, making it noticeable in the dark.

Important! If the LED does not light up, you need to change the polarity of the contacts.

Option number 2

This do-it-yourself bite signaling device is somewhat more complicated. For its manufacture you will need:

  • LED with batteries (options from lighters with flashlights are great - there is already a ready-made case for batteries).
  • Metal tube.
  • Spring and screw.
  • Elastic band and a few centimeters of thin wire.

Place a light bulb with batteries inside the tube, one of the LED contacts must be closed to the case. Fix a self-tapping screw on the spring, place this end inside the tube, fix the other end inside the case with an elastic band.

It is necessary to solder the wiring to the second contact of the LED, the other end of which must be fixed on the part of the spring protruding from the outside. When biting, the spring weighted with a self-tapping screw closes the contact, the LED is activated. It is also easy to make a do-it-yourself bite sounder from a similar design, just change the LED to a squeaker from an inexpensive postcard, but flashes of light at night are more noticeable than short-term sound signals.

Medium option

Let us describe the manufacture of an intermediate version of the signaling device. it also uses an LED with batteries from a lighter, as well as a silicone pipette tip and metallized tape with electrical tape.

Photo 1. We take out the light block from the lighter.

Photo 2. We mount a piece of the tube using metallized tape.

Photo 3. We place the structure in a silicone tip, sealing it with electrical tape.

The amount of adhesive tape must be selected in such a way that the fixed structure does not glow, and when biting, a glow appears, as in the next photo.

Photo 4. Glowing, however!

Production of more complex versions of electronic signaling devices

There are also more advanced homemade products, for the manufacture of which you will need some experience and knowledge of electrical engineering and electronics (however, you can always try to find a radio amateur in your circle of friends who will make a bite indicator for a nominal fee).

To make one of the relatively more complex bite indicators, you will need:

  • Cheap Chinese alarm clock (provides both a case for the device and a speaker).
  • Resistor from an ordinary computer mouse.
  • A nod (a bicycle spoke is quite suitable, or just a metal wire of sufficient diameter).

The two extreme contacts of the resistor must be soldered together, in the future they will be connected to the battery. To the middle one, it is necessary to solder the wire, which will be attached to the alarm clock board. Next, you need to choose a place in the case for the resistor. After the place is chosen, you need to make a hole in the body with a heated awl or nail, through which the nod will pass. The resistor is fixed with glue. The nod is attached to the resistor hole. The finished product must be attached to the rod, the fishing line should be wound by the nod so that it is taut. When the nod is deflected to either side, this device emits a rather loud sound signal, which notifies of a bite to the shore, or from the shore.

For the version with the reed switch you need:

  • The body of the future device.
  • Spring plate for reed switch, plate for attaching a magnet.
  • Sealed contact with magnet.
  • Battery and indicator light.

The sealed contact is attached to a springy metal plate, at the end of which there should also be a ring for tying the fishing line. The plate with the reed switch is mounted inside the housing, the optimal magnet mounting distance is selected empirically. A board with the radio components necessary for the bite indicator to work, as well as a toggle switch and a battery of the required power are also installed in the case.

Important! The toggle switch is necessary so that the electronic signaling device does not work when transporting the device to a reservoir. This option is much more convenient than opening the case each time to remove the battery.

The body also needs holes for an indicator light, a speaker that signals a bite, as well as for the exit of the fishing line. The fishing line is attached at one end to the reed switch plate, and at the other end to the clip, which in turn is mounted to the main line, and transfers the bite force to the plate with a sealed contact. Such a bite alarm is usually mounted on a rod rest, and not on the blank itself.

Using a sealed contact, quite sensitive and reliable home-made bite indicators are obtained, however, some experience is required to manufacture such devices.

All fishermen know how important it is to notice a bite in time and prepare for hooking. To date, the market offers a very large selection of different signaling devices and floats. But, in the event that you make a signaling device with your own hands, then you can get a very high-quality product without spending a single cent. The signaling device is made quite simply and the work, moreover, will not take much time to manufacture it.

Bite alarm. Manufacturing.

In order to start manufacturing a bite signaling device, it is necessary to prepare the following materials:
- Wire.
- Cambric (2 pcs).
- Pliers.
- Stationery knife or scissors.

It takes only 15 minutes to make a bite alarm.

So, you can get started.
First you need to take the wire, the length of which should depend on the size of the rod to which it will be attached. Approximately, you can take about 30 cm. In principle, it does not matter what material is taken for this work. If you take a strong steel wire, it will be difficult to work with it. That is why in this example the most common aluminum wire is taken, because it is soft and durable.

Now you need to take the cambric. This is necessary so that this design holds well and the fishing thread does not get stuck in the signaling device. By the way, you don’t need to buy cambrics in a store, because this is exactly the thing that you always have quite a lot on hand.

For example, you can take any cable available at home that will fit in diameter and remove part of its insulation. For this homemade product, it would be best to take a cable from a satellite or television antenna. Now you need to cut off part of the cable with scissors or cut the insulation with a clerical knife and remove it.

After the cambric is ready to use, you need to cut a large piece into two parts, because this is the number of parts you need to work.

Now we need to get back to the wire. It is necessary to bend one end of it exactly as shown in the photo below. The bent part will be attached to the rod. It is for this that one of its edges is rounded. The bottom of the wire must be left flat. It is necessary to make a bend in such a way that its edge goes to the base of the signaling device, in order to fix it all with a cambric after a while.

After the work done, it is necessary to immediately put on the existing structure two cambric.

Now you need to bend the edge of the wire on the other side, while the eye made should be directed upwards. Next, you need to bend the wire in the other direction, when compared with the first. You need to bend quite a bit, just enough to create a second ring.

So, now you can make the second ring, this time you need to make a completely rounded shape. You also need to leave a little wire that is adjacent to the base of the signaling device and secure it with a second cambric.

Next, you need to put on cambric in order to clamp both sides. So, now you can see the finished product, which you just need to attach to your rod.

For such a product, you can use a thicker wire in order to make the design even stronger and more reliable.

To fix this signaling device, you simply need to remove the cambric and attach the first bend to your rod (on the first large ring), and through the second you need to pass the fishing thread.

When the rod is folded, the signaling device will not interfere with the transportation of fishing tackle.

The positive thing about making a signaling device with your own hands is precisely the fact that no money is spent in its manufacture. At the same time, there is a really high-quality signaling device on hand. own production enough for many fishing trips. Due to the fact that this signaling device was made of aluminum, it will not corrode and breakage.

Perhaps many fishermen are faced with the fact that plastic analogues from stores cannot withstand a long period of operation and break quickly. In the case of making a signaling device with your own hands, a lot of effort and time is not wasted, but it turns out it is much better than a store one. Such a signaling device performs well when fishing with bottom rigs. At the same time, even the smallest bite will be noticed and there will be an opportunity to respond in time.

When hooking and withdrawing fish, the signaling device will not interfere. It will also be during long-distance casting of the bait. In addition, there is no need to prepare the signaling device for casting the rod, because everything will always be ready for perfect work.
