general information

According to the latest statistics, on average, an adult has 2 to 3 weeks of a year with a cold, flu, or acute respiratory illness. About half of this time falls on November-December. At this time of the year, the maximum spread of influenza and SARS is observed.

The pace of modern life in large cities requires a person to save time and effort. Undoubtedly, the above diseases have a very adverse effect on health and general well-being. However, despite the fact that colds and flu are considered relatively benign diseases, preventing or alleviating the course of these diseases is not an easy task. Once in the body, the virus multiplies rapidly, causing whole line symptoms: rhinitis, cough, headache, loss of strength and loss of general tone, hyperthermia.

Today, people are increasingly in need of effective and convenient drugs that will prevent or minimize and alleviate the course of the disease.

There are still no drugs at the disposal of mankind that can cope with a viral infection with 100% efficiency. Today, antiviral drugs are imperfect, but their number and variety is growing, and the effectiveness is increasing every year.

Russian antiviral drug Kagocel- This is another domestic drug for colds, flu and acute respiratory diseases.

Majority antiviral drugs, implemented in, have a positive effect only with an early start of treatment (on the 1-2nd day of the disease). Kagocel, in turn, is effective at any stage of the disease. It not only facilitates and shortens the course of the disease, but also significantly reduces the likelihood of complications. In addition, the drug is safe and does not cause side effects (with the exception of rare cases of allergic reactions). Therefore, it is approved for use by children over 3 years old.

Kagocel was developed by Nearmedic Plus (RF), established on the basis of the Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after A.I. N.F. Gamalei RAMS. The drug was approved by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia as a drug recommended for the prevention and treatment of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza, as well as for the treatment of pathologies associated with herpes virus infection. In addition, the drug was included in the list of vital and essential medicines, due to which it was included in the state system. procurement. Produced since 2005. It is released in pharmacies without a prescription.

Interferon inducers

Since the production of interferon is one of the first immune responses to virus infection, stimulators of the production of this protein occupy a special place among antiviral drugs.

Interferon inducers do not cause an immune response, and are not capable of causing an overdose. Once in the body, drugs of this group stimulate the production of interferons in optimal quantities.

Interferon inductors are divided into two groups: artificial and natural origin. The drug Kagocel, in turn, belongs to the second group. It stimulates the production of human body alpha, beta, and gamma interferons, which have a high antiviral effect.

The mechanism of action of the drug

Since in the preparation of the drug the active substance binds to the cellulose base, Kagocel is practically not absorbed in the digestive tract (no more than 20% of the active substance is absorbed).

Kagocel enhances the activity of interferons (specific cellular proteins that protect the body from viruses) in the body.

Influencing the body, Kagocel induces the production of interferons in the body, which have a pronounced antiviral effect. The action of the drug lasts 5-7 days. Due to the long-term effect of the drug, it is convenient to use it for the prevention of acute respiratory diseases and influenza in small doses, short courses and at any time of contact with the spreader of the disease.

Kagocel enhances the production of interferon in all cells that are part of the antiviral immunity system: in and B-cells, macrophagocytes, granular leukocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells.

However, the action of Kagocel is not limited to the induction of the production of interferons. The drug also stimulates the release of cytokines, activates cellular immunity and natural killers.

The effect of the drug on the body lasts an average of 5 days, during which the produced interferon circulates in the circulatory system. At the same time, the active substance accumulates in the intestine 4 hours after ingestion. After a single use of the drug in a standard dose, the concentration of interferon in the blood increases significantly, reaching a maximum after two days. The maximum concentration of interferon in the blood persists for 2-3 days.

According to the results of numerous clinical trials, with repeated daily use of the drug, the active substance enters various organs and tissues in uneven proportions. A day after entering the body, most of the active substance is concentrated in the liver. Also, in small concentrations, the drug accumulates in the lungs, spleen, kidneys, thymus and lymph nodes. Least of all, the drug accumulates in muscle tissue, heart, adipose tissue, brain and blood. When taken orally, approximately 20% of the active substance enters the bloodstream. In the blood, 47% of Kagocel binds to blood lipids, 37% to proteins, and 16% circulates in a free form. Kagocel molecules are quite massive, so it does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier, which prevents it from entering the brain. The drug is excreted mainly through the digestive tract. Approximately 88% of the active substance is excreted from the body 6-7 days after the completion of the course of treatment. At the same time, 90% is excreted through the gastrointestinal tract, and 10% through the kidneys. Excretion of the drug through the lungs has not been established.

special instructions

The maximum therapeutic effect of the drug is achieved if treatment is started within a period not exceeding 3 days from the onset of the acute phase of the disease. For the prevention of influenza, colds and other acute respiratory diseases, the drug is used at any time, or after contact with the spreader of the disease.

Storage conditions

Keep out of the reach of children, at temperatures below 25 degrees.

Bird flu

One of the most promising methods of preventing avian influenza is vaccination and the use of interferon inducers.

Many scientists note that the above method deserves wider application in therapeutic and clinical practice, incl. in the prevention of influenza and acute respiratory diseases. On the this moment there is no avian influenza vaccine that has been proven effective. Kagocel, inducing the production of interferon in the body, enhances protection and promotes protection against all strains of viruses. Therefore, in the event of an epidemic of bird flu, this drug can serve as an effective means of preventing this dangerous pathology.

Prevention of influenza through vaccination provides protection only against the influenza virus, while the risk of ARVI is not reduced. Epidemics of influenza and SARS often occur simultaneously. Meanwhile, influenza vaccination is well combined with the use of interferon inducers, incl. Kagocela. Therefore, the complex application of the above methods provides more reliable protection from a viral infection.

Kagocel for children

Today, this drug is widely used in the treatment and prevention of seasonal viral diseases in adults. But for children, as a therapeutic drug, it is indicated only from the age of 6, since clinical trials have not been conducted on children and pregnant women to date. In order to prevent influenza and SARS, the medication is allowed for children over 3 years old.

The drug affects the body of a child in the same way as it does on the body of an adult, tk. interferon begins to be produced in the body from the moment of birth. And Kagocel, in turn, simply stimulates the release of this protein in large quantities.

Interferon can provide great support to children during the SARS epidemic season. Therefore, interferon inducers such as Kagocel should not be neglected - it will alleviate the course of the disease and reduce the risk of complications without causing any side effects.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of herpes treatment

This study was conducted by the Central Research Laboratory of the Omsk State Medical Academy

The herpes virus is one of the most common microorganisms that infect the human body. According to official statistics, approximately 90% of people living in cities are carriers of herpes viruses of various forms.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the drug Kagocel in the treatment of herpes infection.

The study involved 146 people, among them 63 were men, 83 were women. Genital herpes was diagnosed in 115 patients, oral herpes - in 31. In the treatment, Kagocel was used in the form of tablets for oral administration (active substance in 1 table - 0.012 g).

The subjects were divided into three groups: the first group was prescribed exclusively Kagocel, the second - Kagocel in combination with

Associate Professor of the Department "Pediatrics-1" at Osh State University. Neonatologist-resuscitator
RS OMKB. Candidate of Medical Sciences.

Kagocel with instructions for use is used for children as an antiviral and immunomodulatory drug. Kagocel as an active ingredient is not used in other medicines, it is not listed in the WHO registry. However, the remedy is recognized as the most prescribed in Russia. How effective and safe is the drug, what do patients and doctors say about it?

According to the instructions, Kagocel is not used to treat children from 2 years of age. Younger patients are prescribed:

  1. Orvirem - syrup with rimantadine. Assign to children from 1 year old with influenza.
  2. - a tool based on antibodies to human interferon gamma. The tablet is dissolved in a teaspoon of boiled water, you can take it from 1 month of life. Effective for SARS, influenza, intestinal infections.
  3. Tsitovir-3 is available in the form of a powder for solution preparation. Approved for admission from 1 year. The advantage of the drug is the use in children with atopic dermatitis. Assign for viral infections.
  4. - a medicine for influenza based on oseltamivir, prescribed from 1 year. Release form - capsules and powder for suspension.

The therapeutic course lasts 4 days:

  1. According to the instructions for children 3 years old, the first two days of Kagocel drink 1 tablet twice a day.
  2. Then take 2 days, 1 tablet once a day.

For a course of treatment take 6 tablets. The medicine is used regardless of the meal.

If the child is 5 years old, then according to the instructions for therapeutic purposes, Kagocel is given in the same dosage as for children 3 years old. For the prevention of viral diseases, a seven-day cycle of taking the medicine is used. On the 1st and 2nd day, the child should drink 1 tablet, then there is a break for 5 days. The course lasts from 7 days to several months. According to the instructions for use, Kagocel for prevention in children is used:

  • during the seasonal spread of viral diseases;
  • after contact with the patient.

In order to prevent infection, the remedy is prescribed from 3 years old, 1 tablet per day.

Kagocel, according to the instructions for use, for children from 6 years of age is prescribed in the following doses:

  • the first two days, one tablet three times a day;
  • the next two days take one tablet twice a day.

In total, for a four-day course of treatment, the child should drink 10 tablets. The medicine is taken before or after meals.

For children from 7 to 10 years of age and older, Kagocel is prescribed for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in case of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza. The same doses of the drug are observed as for a six-year-old child.

It is recommended to start treatment with this remedy no later than the fourth day of illness. At this stage, the body already independently produces interferons of the desired type and there is no need to take stimulants.

The medicine has a round shape and cream color. The active substance is Kagocel, a synthetic interferon inducer. The tool was developed by Russian scientists and has no analogues in terms of the active substance. Among the auxiliary ingredients contains lactose.

Kagocel affects the cells that are responsible for the body's immune response to a viral attack. As a result, late interferon alpha and beta types are formed. This provides the antiviral effect of the drug.

After taking the drug, the maximum production of interferons in the intestine is observed after 4 hours. Peak plasma concentration is observed after two days. These indicators persist for another 4-5 days. Other organs into the tissues of which Kagocel penetrates:

  • spleen;
  • liver;
  • The lymph nodes;
  • kidneys;
  • lungs.

This effect is recorded 24 hours after the use of the drug inside. The withdrawal of the substance is carried out by about 90% with feces, a little less than 10% is excreted with urine.

Indications for the appointment of Kagocel

  • flu;
  • acute respiratory viral infections;
  • herpetic infections in adults;
  • urogenital chlamydia (for adults, in combination with other medicines).

It is possible to use the medicine for prophylaxis during the period of seasonal spread of viral infections.

Contraindications

  • children under 3 years of age;
  • galactose intolerance;
  • individual hypersensitivity to substances in the composition of the product;
  • lactose deficiency Lapa;
  • impaired absorption of glucose-galactose.

Kagocel is contraindicated for women during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This remedy is considered safe, but exceeding the dose can lead to stomach pain, severe nausea, dizziness, and other signs of malaise. In this case, the patient needs to drink plenty of fluids and induce vomiting.

Adverse reactions and drug interactions

Of the side effects of the drug, only a rare development of allergic reactions is known.

Kagocel goes well with other medicines that are prescribed for viral and bacterial infections. When interacting with antibiotics, immunomodulators, antiviral agents, mutual enhancement of effectiveness was noted. According to the instructions, Kagocel tablets for children do not have a sedative effect.

Kagocel 12 mg - instructions for use for children

The concept of "children's Kagocel" does not exist, since a single form of release is offered for children and adults - tablets, and a single dosage - 12 mg. Adults should take more medication to achieve a therapeutic effect. Recommended regimen for taking Kagocel for adults:

  1. From ARVI and influenza - the first 2 days, 2 tab. three times a day, then 2 days, 1 tab. three times a day.
  2. Against herpetic infections and urogenital chlamydia, take 2 tablets for 5 days. three times a day.

The pediatrician should prescribe the exact treatment regimen and dosage for the child. The maximum daily dose should not exceed for children under 6 years of age - 24 mg, over 6 - 36 mg. The minimum dose is 12 mg every 24 hours. Before taking the medicine, you need to be sure of the viral origin of the disease. In bacterial infections, Kagocel has an auxiliary immunomodulatory effect, without eliminating the true cause of the disease.

Syrup Kagocel - instructions for use for children

Kagocel for children is not produced in the form of a syrup. The drug is released only in tablets of 12 mg. One package contains 10 pieces.

Kagocel - instructions for children and price

The price of Kagocel for children in Russia varies from 189 to 300 rubles per pack.

Kagocel with instructions for use has been used to treat children recently, but there are many reviews about it. Opinions regarding the effectiveness and safety of the drug in patients and doctors were divided. Of the positive aspects of using the drug, note:

  • the tablet is very small and easy for the child to swallow;
  • pills need to be taken for only four days;
  • there are no adverse reactions;
  • one package of medicine is completely enough for the entire therapeutic course for the child;
  • relief of well-being occurs already on the second day of taking the medicine;
  • the drug is released in pharmacies without a prescription;
  • compared to other immunomodulators, the price of Kagocel tablets for children is quite low.

For comparison, a number of drugs with a similar effect and approximate prices:

  • Tamiflu - 1270 rubles;
  • - 990 rubles;
  • Lavomax - 690 rubles;
  • Viferon - 540 rubles;
  • Tsitovir-3 - 390 rubles.

Half of the patients were not satisfied with the experience of using Kagocel, even with a favorable outcome of the disease.

Distrust of the drug cause:

  1. The presence of gossypol in the drug. This substance is obtained from cottonseed oil. It can reduce the fertility of males, especially children. Gossypol is found in some male contraceptives. Since 1989, the use of this substance in medicines has been prohibited by WHO regulation. According to the manufacturer, the gossypol in Kagocel is in a bound state, which ensures that it does not affect the fertility of men and boys. However, there are no studies documenting its safety.
  2. Tests of Kagocel were carried out only in laboratory conditions on rats. To fully prove the safety and efficacy of a substance, experiments on primates and, preferably, clinical studies are needed. They are carried out on volunteers, with the participation of the control group taking a placebo. Nothing like this was done with Kagocel.

Consumers were also surprised by the latest metamorphoses with the drug. Previously, according to the instructions for use, Kagocel could be prescribed to children from the age of six, but now it can be used from three.

According to doctors, there is no unequivocal opinion about the instructions for using Kagocel for children. Some pediatricians trust the drug and prescribe it in combination with other medicines for the treatment of SARS and influenza. Some of their colleagues believe that the effect of the remedy is based on the placebo effect.

According to Dr. Komarovsky, among antiviral drugs, only drugs based on oseltamivir - Tamiflu, have proven effectiveness. This active substance has undergone many laboratory and clinical studies around the world. Other medicines of this group cannot boast of a similar evidence base.

In most cases of ARVI and influenza, Kagocel quickly eliminates the symptoms of the disease and shortens the duration of treatment. Before using the remedy, you need to consult a pediatrician and accurately establish the diagnosis.

Kagocel®

International non-proprietary name

Dosage form

Tablets, 12 mg

Compound

1 tablet contains:

active substance: Kagocel® (in terms of dry matter) 12.00 mg.

Excipients: potato starch, calcium stearate, Ludipress (composition: lactose monohydrate, povidone (Kollidon 30), crospovidone (Kollidon CL)) to obtain a tablet weighing 100 mg.

Description

Cream to Brown color round biconvex with inclusions.

Pharmacotherapeutic group

Direct acting antivirals. Other antiviral drugs.

ATX code: J05AX.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The main mechanism of action of Kagocel® is the ability to induce the production of interferon. Kagocel® causes the formation in the human body of the so-called late interferon, which is a mixture of - and -interferons with high antiviral activity. Kagocel® causes the production of interferon in almost all cell populations involved in the antiviral response of the body: T- and B-lymphocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells. When ingesting a single dose of Kagocel®, the titer of interferon in the blood serum reaches its maximum values after 48 hours. The body's interferon response to the administration of Kagocel® is characterized by prolonged (up to 4-5 days) circulation of interferon in the bloodstream. The dynamics of interferon accumulation in the intestine when Kagocel® is taken orally does not coincide with the dynamics of titers of circulating interferon. In the blood serum, the production of interferon reaches high values only 48 hours after taking Kagocel®, while in the intestines, the maximum production of interferon is noted already after 4 hours.

Kagocel®, when prescribed in therapeutic doses, is non-toxic, does not accumulate in the body. The drug does not have mutagenic and teratogenic properties, is not carcinogenic and does not have an embryotoxic effect.

The greatest efficiency in the treatment with Kagocel® is achieved when it is prescribed no later than the 4th day from the onset of an acute infection. For prophylactic purposes, the drug can be used at any time, including immediately after contact with the infectious agent.

Pharmacokinetics

24 hours after administration, Kagocel® accumulates mainly in the liver, to a lesser extent in the lungs, thymus, spleen, kidneys, and lymph nodes. Low concentration is observed in adipose tissue, heart, muscles, testicles, brain, blood plasma. The low content of Kagocel® in the brain is explained by the high molecular weight of the drug, which hinders its penetration through the blood-brain barrier. In plasma, the drug is found predominantly in bound form.

With daily repeated administration of Kagocel®, the volume of distribution varies widely in all organs studied. The accumulation of the drug in the spleen and lymph nodes is especially pronounced. When taken orally, about 20% of the administered dose of the drug enters the general circulation. The absorbed drug circulates in the blood, mainly in the form associated with macromolecules: with lipids - 47%, with proteins - 37%. The unbound portion of the drug is about 16%.

Withdrawal: the drug is excreted from the body mainly through the intestines: 7 days after administration, 88% of the administered dose is excreted from the body, including 90% through the intestines and 10% through the kidneys. The drug was not detected in exhaled air.

Indications for use

Kagocel® is used in adults and children over 3 years of age as a prophylactic and therapeutic agent for influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), as well as a remedy for herpes in adults.

Dosage and administration

Kagocel is one of the few immunomodulatory drugs in tablets, which are characterized by powerful activity against viral infection. The effectiveness of the drug is confirmed by the ability of its components to inhibit (suppress) the activity of rotavirus and herpes infections, SARS and influenza. According to the principle of reaction to the virus, the drug is similar to other drugs - the therapeutic effect is achieved by synthesizing human interferon (endogenous protein gamma globulin) in the blood - an organic antibody with powerful antiviral activity.

The production of antibodies by the human body begins with cellular activation of lymphocytes, granulocytes, macrophages, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells. After taking Kagocel, the maximum cellular concentration of the produced immunoglobulin reaches a critical point. By activating the enzyme components (protein kinase and adelityl synthetase), gamma globulin inhibits the synthesis (penetration) of the protein and RNA of the virus.

talking plain language- being essentially an inducer of the immune response, the drug literally forces the body to produce a shock dose of antiviral antibodies.

Kagocel has a high duration of active action, is used at any stage of the disease, is easily excreted from the body (up to 99% of the dose on the 7th day), has no cumulative properties and side effects.

According to the instructions for use from the manufacturer Kagocel, the antiviral drug is approved by the Russian Ministry of Health as effective remedy for the prevention and treatment of SARS, influenza and herpes. Since 2006, the medicine has been included in the public procurement of essential medicines.

For what diseases is Kagocel prescribed?

The drug is prescribed by a doctor for symptoms of viral etiology:

  • SARS;
  • ORZ, ;
  • diseases of the mucous membranes in the form of grouped bubble rashes ();
  • cytomegalovirus infection;

The effectiveness of Kagocel in rotavirus - what is the essence of the treatment

Organically persistent (persistent) rotavirus significantly reduces the immune defenses of an infected person. The deficiency of interferon is especially noticeable during the period of children's seasonal morbidity. When the immune response is activated, the elimination (removal) of the virus from the body occurs quickly and, as a result, a quick recovery occurs.

With the development of rotavirus disease, taking Kagocel provokes a concentration of active immune cells in the intestine as early as 4 hours after the first tablet. This allows you to significantly reduce the manifestations of intoxication, normalizes body temperature, quickly stops signs of dehydration by stabilizing the stool and stimulates the regenerative function of epithelial cells of the intestinal mucosa.

The inclusion of Kagocel in the complex treatment of rotavirus significantly reduces the risk of re-infection, which prevents further spread of the infection. The reason for this is the influence of Kagocel on the reproductive function of the viral particle in the body. This fact is clinically identified and substantiated by leading virologists according to laboratory studies of the interaction of gamma globulin to infection.

Schemes of taking Kagocel tablets for rotavirus in children

  • the first two days, one tablet twice a day;
  • the next two days, one tablet per day.

Children of the older age category (from 6 years old) are recommended to take the medicine in the following proportions:

  • the first two days on a tablet three times a day;
  • then two days on a tablet twice a day.

The total number of Kagocel tablets per course of treatment should not exceed 10 per person.

Course therapy significantly accelerates the recovery period, prevents the spread of pathogenic microflora to other organs, and contributes to the rapid localization of the infectious focus. The effectiveness of the treatment of adults with a course of the drug was studied according to dynamic indicators and laboratory tests. On the basis of the data obtained, it was concluded that the general picture of spastic manifestations does not change during the first two days. Against the background of a decrease in the respiratory clinic, a decrease in the signs of rhinitis is recorded on the third day, and a decrease in the frequency of diarrhea on the fourth day. At the same time, already on the second day the patient notes an improvement in well-being and the appearance of appetite.

Schemes for the prevention and treatment of viral disease with Kagocel in an adult patient

Before talking about the schemes for taking Kagocel tablets for various diseases, it should be noted that the medicine is intended for oral (internal) use. During treatment, the tablet can not be divided in half, broken into pieces, tear off the film shell.

The principle of the drug regimens developed by the manufacturer is aimed at the formation of a shock immune response. Consistent dosage reduction provides a long-lasting protective barrier.

In the absence of positive results during the first three days of using Kagocel, the doctor is allowed to adjust the prescribed course, taking into account medical indicators in dynamics.

Table of application of the drug Kagocel (dosage for adults)

In cases of epidemics of a viral disease, it is advisable to take preventive measures with the use of the drug in accordance with the presented norms. The course of prevention and treatment with Kagocel should not exceed 3 times 2 days of taking tablets and two consecutive 5-day intervals.

With the active stage of herpes, it is better to use a loading dose of Kagocel - 3 tablets per day for 5 days.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not exactly indicate how to drink a Kagocel tablet. However, based on general medical practice, medicines are usually washed down with plain water, boiled at room temperature. The medicine should not be taken with alcohol, strong coffee or hot tea.

Schemes of taking the drug Kagocel for children

The child's body is most vulnerable during the off-season change of weather. Most often, children become infected with viruses, being constantly in a certain society - for example, in kindergarten or school class. For the development of an epidemic, close contact of several persons with an infected child is sufficient. The conditions of accumulation of children in one room contribute to the rapid spread of the virus. Therefore, it is very important to notice the symptoms in time and take appropriate safety measures.

Table of reception of Kagocel for children of different age categories

For the purpose of therapeutic therapy for children under 6 years of age, a 4-day course of Kagocel is carried out. For older children (up to 12 years old), 10 tablets are used in one course.

According to the instructions, the duration of the course in the prevention of viral diseases in children under 6 years of age can be carried out in a month, with the obligatory observance of 5-day intervals.

Kagocel during pregnancy and breastfeeding - can I take it?

Based on the hypoallergenicity and non-toxicity of the active ingredient, and also given the absence of side effects of the drug, many patients believe that Kagocel can be taken during an interesting situation, both for prevention and during illness. Understanding this issue, let us turn to the results of laboratory analytics in the study of the effect of the drug on a living organism.

Following the unanimous opinion of leading immunologists, as well as paying attention to the instructions of the drug manufacturer, the drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy. There is a hypothesis about the occurrence of a detrimental effect of the active immunoglobulin on the organic tissue of the fetus. This threatens with intrauterine immune failures of a small organism, which in the future can provoke possible complications. These concerns are related to the ability of Kagocel to penetrate the placental barrier.

The concentration of the drug in the composition of breast milk is confirmed by clinical tests. Such milk is harmful to the child, because it threatens the development of immune failures of a fragile organism.

Given the data obtained, the vast majority of doctors recommend that patients refrain from using Kagocel during pregnancy and lactation. If such recommendations cannot be avoided, short-term breast weaning is allowed during the course of treatment. In such cases, the interval must be maintained - from the moment of taking the first tablet to a week after the end of the course, feed the child breast milk it is forbidden.

Is it possible to combine a course of treatment with Kagocel and alcohol?

Taking medication and alcoholic beverages at the same time is strictly prohibited. Under the influence of ethyl alcohol, when stimulating the produced interferons, complications can occur in the form of severe forms of psychosomatic nervous disorders. With alcohol abuse, these disorders can become irreversible.

Contraindications and side effects of Kagocel

Contraindications when taking the medicine include allergic reactions to the medication, pregnancy and breast-feeding. Due to the lack of confirmed information on the effect of the drug on children under 3 years of age (no studies have been conducted) - according to the instructions for Kagocel, this category is also included in contraindications.

Careful adherence to medical prescriptions minimizes the occurrence of side effects from taking the medication.

The appearance of these symptoms is most often associated with individual intolerance to one of the components that make up the drug. Such signs of intolerance include atopic rhinitis, muscle weakness, slight irritability.

For patients with body weight below normal, the drug should be administered carefully, individually selecting the daily or course dosage. The necessary correction of treatment should be carried out under constant monitoring of the dynamics of the patient's condition.

Why does the temperature rise after taking Kagocel?

The composition of Kagocel does not include substances that have a peculiarity of influencing the temperature regime of the patient's body during the period of illness. When treating, it should be remembered that the drug is an additional medicine and is in no way able to cope with a strong infection alone without prior prevention.

signs high temperature indicate the progression of infectious pathology. This means that the patient needs an urgent consultation with a doctor in order to prescribe antibacterial and immunostimulating therapy at the same time.

The effect of Kagocel on reproductive function

To date, the disputes of medical luminaries over the "spicy" side effect Kagotsela for the strong half of humanity. Let's understand why this antiviral drug can be harmful for boys and for men.

The fundamental chemical reaction of the drug is based on the substance gossypol. It is a natural polyphenol from a number of enzyme dehydrogenase inhibitors. The organic compound is used in China as an oral contraceptive for men. In addition to antiviral and antimicrobial properties, this antioxidant inhibits the development of male germ cells, which can cause infertility.

According to the manufacturer, Kagocel does not break down during organic replication, but no supporting studies have been provided. Therefore, it is quite logical that the presence of bound gossypol in the composition of the drug does not exclude the minimum possibility of its accumulation in the body with frequent use of the drug. This fact causes fair concern about the sexual health of boys, especially during the formation and maturation of spermatozoa.

Comparison of Kagocel with other antiviral drugs

For some reason, we are convinced that the sooner we start treatment, the sooner we will recover. Everything is used, from grandmother's jam and honey to well-known antiviral drugs. Good, modern choice Pharmacy offers are replete with names. Of course, before choosing a particular medicine, you should consult your doctor. But it doesn’t hurt to learn a little more information about existing and popular antiviral drugs for general development. We present to you small review analogues of Kagocel and their comparison with the original.

Remantadin (price about 70-90 rubles)

When choosing which is better Kagocel or Remantadin, you need to know about the advantages and disadvantages of each of the drugs.

For example, Remantadine is based on adamantane derivatives known for their effectiveness against group A viruses in the early stages of treatment. The drug has been produced since 1963. Since the established modifications of the A group of viruses resistant to adamantanes are relevant today, the medicine is considered obsolete.

Kagocel, according to the manufacturer, has a therapeutic effect at later stages of the development of the disease. In addition, the principle of operation of this agent does not allow viruses to develop resistance (resistance), since the molecular cells of interferon absolutely do not care what the "enemy" is - it must be destroyed.

Ingavirin (price up to 450 rubles)

The activity of Invagirin is due to the synthesized biogenic aminohistamine, which takes part in the immune reactions of the body and has a virucidal (disinfectant) effect against adeno and rhinoviruses, viruses of groups A, B, and parainfluenza. Ingavirin splits the pathogenic virus, preventing its reproduction.

The action of Kagocel is based on a plant component. The drug starts the natural processes of protective functions to reduce the severity of the disease without preventing infection.

Ergoferon (about 350-370 rubles)

Ergoferon is a drug based on the homeopathic component of human interferon. It has a very mild effect, so it is not suitable for all patients - in practice, there have been cases when patients did not feel any improvement at all when taking Ergoferon. The phenomenon is explained by the individual sensitivity of the organism to the components of the remedy. In medicine, it is widely used for the treatment and prevention of a special category of the population - children from 6 months of age, pregnant and lactating mothers.

Compared to Ergoferon, Kagocel has a more powerful effect, so the manufacturer limited the circle of consumers in advance. For pregnant and lactating mothers, as well as children under 3 years old, the use of Kagocel in the treatment of a viral infection is not allowed.

Oscillococcinum (cost 460 rubles)

The homeopathic remedy Oscillococcinum is based on natural ingredients - an extract of the liver and heart of Barbary ducks. The drug is taken exclusively on prescription for no more than 2-3 days. When used for prevention purposes, it is necessary to drink a much smaller dose than Kagocel (once a week).

The essential difference between the two drugs is that the therapeutic effect of prophylaxis with Kagocel is longer than with Oscillococcinum.

Cycloferon (cost up to 300 rubles)

Both drugs perfectly restore cellular immunity and inhibit the development of viral pathology. Despite the content of another active ingredient in Cycloferon (meglumine acridone acetate), the effect on the body of medicines is identical.

The disadvantages of Cycloferon is the existence of serious side effects - the remedy should not be taken by allergy sufferers, children under 4 years of age and people with erosive pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, liver. In the treatment with Cycloferon, a longer period is required until complete recovery - the drug acts slowly and is quickly excreted from the body.

Amiksin (price up to 900 rubles)

This is a more expensive analogue of Kagocel based on tilorone. It has a wide range of effects, as it is widely used in the treatment of tuberculosis, encephalomyelitis and viral hepatitis A, B, C. It is known for its properties to enhance the formation of all types of interferon, participates in protein synthesis and inhibits virus reproduction. Very convenient to use - for prevention, one tablet is enough at any time of the day. The concentration of the active substance Amiksin in the patient's blood is reached in 12 hours (compared to Kagocel, the peak accumulation is not earlier than after 2 days).

A significant difference between the drugs is the restriction on the age of the consumer. Amiksin should not be drunk by children under the age of 7, while Kagocel is allowed to be taken by children from 3 years old.

The cost of the drug Amixin justifies its rapid effectiveness, widespread use and accelerated onset of a therapeutic effect on the infection.

The combination of Kagocel in combination with other antiviral drugs

The high level of interrelation of Kagocel with other antiviral drugs makes it possible to use the drug in complex courses of drug therapy. Against the background of the general effect, the elimination of viral symptoms occurs faster, which significantly reduces the risk of serious consequences.

It is important to know that a complex intake of antiviral drugs is advisable in the first days of therapy.

Arbidol

Both drugs have the same pronounced effectiveness against viruses. Distinctive feature Arbidol is its active ingredient - umifenovir. The component is much more effective in stimulating the formation of immunoglobulin in the human body, so the drug is ideal for treating an existing infection. The action of Kagocel is more aimed at preventing the disease, so the drug is excellent during the epidemic period.

The complex of treatment with both drugs is effective in cases of using Arbidol in the early stages of the development of the disease, and Kagocel at later stages.

Viferon

Viferon is a ready-made interferon isolated in a laboratory from a person. Synthetic Kagocel has the ability to enhance immune production while taking immunostimulating agents (additive effect). Since there are no contraindications for the use of Viferon and Kagocel, both drugs work great together.

Antibiotics

In combination with antibiotics, Kagocel plays an important role. Under the action of an antibiotic, the drug inhibits the development of pathogenic viruses, stimulating the body's response. At the same time, against the background of a plant inhibitor, the antibiotic destroys the weakened viral bacterium.

Treatment with Kagocel in tandem with antibiotics is prescribed by a doctor if there are suspicions of the development of factors complicating a viral disease.

Ingavirin

Despite the fact that both drugs have sufficient antiviral properties, it is not recommended to use them at the same time, since Ignavirin has a number of contraindications when interacting with other antiviral drugs.

Acyclovir

Conducted medical studies have proven the high efficiency of Kagocel in combination with Acyclovir - herpes manifestations in the observed patients disappeared on the third day from the onset of the disease. Patients noted a significant improvement in the condition, a decrease in pain, itching and burning in the area of the vesicles.

It is perfectly compatible with Kagocel due to its pronounced antitumor and anti-inflammatory effect. Since cycloferon has minor contraindications, the drug should be taken with caution in patients with impaired liver and gastrointestinal tract, before the course of treatment, it is necessary to consult a doctor about the harmlessness of this compatibility for your body.

Antigrippin

The action of Antigripin is based on the components of the drug - homeopathic substances of plant and mineral origin. This property works more as a lead - it reduces the tendency to infection by increasing the body's immune resistance.

The main advantage of Antigrippin is a mild effect on the body and the complete absence of contraindications. In addition, the medicine is much cheaper than Kagocel and is approved for use in the treatment of children after a year.

Since the drug has a slow cycle of action, it is advisable to use a homeopathic remedy in combination with a stronger medicine, such as Kagocel.

Not everyone can afford to fork out for an expensive remedy for flu or herpes. Cheap analogues are good, but as statistics show, the effect of drugs differs significantly from each other. In order not to make a mistake in the choice of pharmacological proposals, do not be lazy to once again ask the therapist about substitutes for expensive drugs. Kagocel is one of the high-quality analogues in terms of relatively inexpensive price. The effectiveness of this tool has been proven by time and positive feedback from patients.
