Read, read, and don't say you haven't read...

In a distant kingdom, far away, in ancient times, but not entirely prehistoric, there lived three heroes-comrades, three electronic entities.

Here they are - in their strong armor! And why didn’t one of the heroes take off his armor at all? No, he is not shy. It's just that this is the whole intrigue and, reading the epic, you can find out what the face of the hero is. So, keep your eyes peeled.

The first hero, the eldest, was called Ilya of Murom ... ugh, it just went like a fairy tale, but this is an epic! They called the first and older Explay MU220. Here is such a heroic name. This fellow had, though not outstanding, but a strong and dense physique, and in the old fashioned way he preferred push-button control, pretending to be a felt boot, barely hearing the foreign word "sensor". At the table - to dine, to refuel - the hero did not sit down often, even rarely - once a week, and this is not surprising, because he was an interpreter: he practically did nothing, only talked and wrote letters. Yes, he still loved to sing songs, since his voice was loud, although not very musical.

The second hero - Digma idj7 - compared to the first, had a physique more befitting of heroes, he was not fond of songs and fables, but he liked to do a little of everything: then, lying on a couch, he would leaf through a book, look at pictures; then the enemies of the game will mutuzit, or the evil birds will help the green pigs and the harmless ones to offend (that's what the pigs did badly to him, is it really a racist - does not accept the green color of the skin?); then films and cartoons are seen from nothing to do. Only no occupation for a long time fascinated the hero Digma, because the gluttonous hero was beyond measure: he could not live without the nutritious substance of the electric one for any long time.

Well, the third hero, the youngest, but not Alyosha Popovich, but Sony PRS-T2. Renowned bookworm. Clever, infection, even from Russian into Basurmansky - English - he knew how to translate words. The ascetic hero led a lifestyle, he read and read everything, and he consumed food that gives new strength quite moderately - once a month, or even less often. Between themselves, the other two heroes called their comrade "inkwell".

And so the three heroes lived: one read all the interesting and informative books, the second led decent conversations, and the third did everything else. By the way, Digma also knew how to address the world's mind and get answers to various questions, but for this he needed a witch's talisman - it's called a USB modem.

However, their life was not calm for long - trouble came, the hero Digma fell ill. His stomach was sick: it would only grow thin, and after half an hour there was no strength, he had to sit down at the table again. The heroes turned to the folk doctor, and the doctor helped them, although he did such a complicated operation for the first time: he tore out the sick stomach completely, and soldered ... ugh, sewed a new stomach with surgical threads, even better than the previous one, trophy - borrowed from another hero Jiayu G3 .

It seems that the former carefree life returned, but something was disturbing to the heroes-comrades. And the attack did not make you wait: something happened to the vision of the same hero Digma. He did not become color blind, but the color red ceased to exist for him. Sony and Explay will look at it and their faces turn back from a poisonous mixture of green and blue, and a revelation came to them that RGB is still better than GB without R. But then the doctor could not help in any way, and the heroes put up with it.

But the fate-villain finally took offense at them for something: somehow (or once) the heroes Explay and Sony returned from another patrol in the territories under their control, and they saw that their comrade was lying beaten and crippled on damp ground. They ask him, and he tells them, they say, the enemies attacked him in huge numbers and he beat them almost all, but he didn’t master the last one and the reptile leaked, and finally gave the Digma hero a valiant blow to the hero’s head. But in fact, Digma stumbled out of the blue and hit his head so badly that he smashed his entire green-blue face, and apparently got a concussion.

The heroes were sad, but there was nothing to do, according to the content of the epic, after all, there should be three heroes, but with the hero Digma, it turns out that you can’t cook porridge and you won’t go into reconnaissance. They determined - Sony and Explay - a comrade of their military in a monastery for the elderly and honored, and they began to think hard about how they now need to fix the shortage in their company. And then (finally!) fate gave them a gift (although this is from which side to look): the dandy Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110 asked for them. All of himself is a fine fellow, fine, strong, bright face (some one constantly refers to AMOLED, showing off).

It turned out that the new one was twice as strong as the retired hero, his memory and article were stronger, and his brain had double compared to Digma. Samsung began to fulfill all those duties that Digma had on its shoulders, and succeeded in everything (well, almost everything). Samsung does everything better, more beautiful, all of itself is attentive, helpful.

But the new hero turned out to be uncommunicative. No, well, not quite, of course, deaf-mute, but a little flawed in terms of communications; that is, he will always share a waffle with friends, or rather he will ask for himself, and he has a blue tooth, but that's all. He doesn’t let anyone into his inner world on principle (unless, after long shamanic dances with a tambourine, he agrees to lift the veil of his inner structure), he only allows you to look at the world around him through his eyes, or rather his eye (yes, he has one eye!). Well, no talking at all. Just nothing. Potentially, this hero does not know how to use witchcraft amulets and talismans, called SIM-cards. And in general, he did not perceive any amulets, talismans and amulets, even if they were hung around his neck on a special chain - he also does not know the OTG spell.

But on the ground, the hero SM-T 110 navigates just fine! He knows how to communicate both with the spirits of the GPS world and with the ghostly inhabitants of the GLONASS world. And the spirits tell him where the north is, and where even the east is at all, and where is Marshal Zhukov Avenue. Even in a completely unfamiliar area, the SM-T 110 will know all directions in a minute or two.

And Samsung has a good visual memory, it can capture images and store them in memory (but almost always fuzzy images are obtained).

And the Samsung hero turned out to be temperamental and quick-tempered. In the literal sense of the word, quick-tempered. As soon as he gets carried away by some interesting and complex business, literally before his eyes the temperature jumps above the norm, like that of a patient with fever. Here the hero begins to blunt. He, therefore, needs to rest, take a breath, and after a few minutes you can go back to battle.

Well, how not to mention the voracity of Samsung, but he eats in three belly and three throats! Okay, it was a joke. The hero’s appetite is all right, but he also spends the received forces quite rationally and moderately.

In general, the bogatyrs became friends, became friends, again began to live together, each performing his own service.

On this, we leave the artistic side of the review alone and move on to deciphering the above. First of all, let's reveal the cards, that is, "TTX to the studio!".

Here they are the heroes! But in fact, I want to talk about only one of them - about the Samsung tablet. I want to understand if Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110 is good or bad? So, attention to the screen.

This tablet came to me at the end of 2014 after an unfortunate incident with its predecessor - Digma idj7. The predecessor fell from a two-meter-high locker and unsuccessfully hit his face, excuse me, with the screen on the corner of the aforementioned cabinet; as a result, the screen is not suitable for use, and repairing this miracle is not cost-effective, it's easier to buy a new miracle. Do you remember how prices skyrocketed at the end of last year? Well, I looked into the shopping store. He is the only one in our town and is profiled in the repair and purchase of various technical and electronic products, from refrigerators to flash drives. It was there that I saw a Samsung tablet for three thousand three hundred rubles in a perfect new condition in the factory and in a box under a tree.

There is no SIM support - well, okay, I'm not going to call it, and I don't need the Internet on the tablet. I didn’t look at device reviews before buying: I turned it on in the store, looked at the screen - not bad, and bought it. And now I have been using the tablet for almost two months and, in principle, I am satisfied with it. But first things first.

Since my family loves to read, and the reader is in the undivided use of my beloved wife, my tablet is used mainly as a book. Occasionally I play, even less often I use navigation. Therefore, a tablet with a normal screen, a dual-core processor, a gigabyte of RAM and eight gigabytes of permanent memory is enough for me. I need navigation on long-distance tourist or business trips several times a year.

Memory for work (operational) - 1 gigabyte - is enough for this tablet. Memory for storage (permanent) - 8 gigabytes - is also enough, I only inserted a memory card for testing.

    Screen

Although this is Samsung, the screen here is never AMOLED. According to the documentation, the tablet is equipped with a TN-matrix with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, which in this particular case gives a density of 169 dpi. For myself, I concluded that the screen is not bad. The minimum brightness level is exactly the minimum in the full sense of the word: in the dark, the screen does not blind and it is quite comfortable to read, but doing anything else is too dark. The maximum is a little short of an acceptable level, and in the sun you can see the information on the screen, but there is no question of comfortable operation. Since there is no light sensor, there is no automatic brightness control. Here are examples of pictures on the screen at 100 percent brightness and the same pictures at 25 percent brightness:

Color saturation is quite in the spirit of Samsung - above average, which is not a drawback for a tablet. Individual pixels on the screen can be quite seen with the naked eye, but only those who want to dump a wheelbarrow of dirt on this device will do this.

I considered pixels only as part of the study of the capabilities and characteristics of the tablet in order to write this review. Moreover, when working with a tablet, these same pixels are not striking, there are no ladders in the fonts, and you can even improve font smoothing in the settings.

The matrix itself is covered, most likely, with a glass plate with an air gap. I made this conclusion on the basis of empirical observations. As for the layer - it can still be seen with the same naked eye, and where does OGS come from in a low-budget device? As for the glass, everything is somewhat ambiguous. The manufacturer himself does not claim anything of the kind, but! I have been carrying the tablet in my bag for two months along with all sorts of other things, and there is still not a single scratch on the screen! The protective film on the screen is present to the same extent as scratches - it simply does not exist. But there are already a few scratches and scuffs on the case. A serious drawback of the screen is the lack of anti-reflective coating: any light source tends to be reflected on the tablet screen, making it as difficult as possible to perceive the information displayed on the screen.

In the last photo, an interesting effect is generally captured: the camera focused not on the tablet (the distance from the lens to the tablet is about half a meter), but on the chandelier reflected in the tablet screen (the focal length is more than two meters). You can probably use this tablet for 3D photography with a little practice.

The matte screen protector is supposed to fix the glare and reflections, but I haven't tried it.

There is no oleophobic coating, fingerprints appear almost immediately, but are removed quite easily not only with a specially trained cloth, but also with a sweater sleeve. The prints themselves, even in large numbers, are not visible on the screen of the switched on tablet, but on the switched off they are very noticeable.

    More screen shots:

    Battery

The second most important characteristic for me is the battery. It has a non-removable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 3600 milliamp-hours. The Digma tablet had a 3000 mAh battery evenly and sat down pretty quickly (the processor, although single-core, was voracious). Samsung is more rational in this regard: the dual-core Marvell PXA986 is made using the already outdated 45-nm technology, but it consumes battery energy sparingly. Judging by the graphs of battery consumption, most of the energy is needed for the screen. With a screen brightness of 30 percent, which is how I feel comfortable reading, the tablet works in e-book mode for about a week (read an hour or two after work). At full load, the tablet does not work even for four hours, in reading mode per hour, an average of 4-5 percent of the battery capacity is consumed - quite a good result, it seems to me.

Complete Charger very decent quality. Made in Vietnam, produces 1 amp, charges the tablet in a little over three hours.

    Appearance

Also, I will attribute to the merits and appearance and tactile sensations from the case. It seems that there is nothing extraordinary or outstanding in it, but it’s comfortable to hold it in your hands and that’s it. The bottom surface of the case does not slip, and despite the weight of 310 grams, the tablet is in no hurry to slip out of your hands. The dark blue color of the plastic harmonizes well with the black bezels of the screen. Like many things in this device, there is also no backlighting of the hardware buttons "Menu" (left) and "Back" (right), but the buttons are painted with white paint and are perfectly visualized during daylight hours, and later you get used to their location. The central button - mechanical - is framed by a silvery frame, it is pressed easily, sometimes even very easily.

The power and volume buttons are located on the right side, the memory card slot is on the left. On the top edge there is a miniUSB port and a headphone jack. The lower edge proudly offers our attention to the microphone. Yes, there is a microphone here. There is no special need for it, but it is there. The Noise Meter program works flawlessly.

    Navigation

In addition to GPS, Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110 also received GLONASS support, which could not but affect positioning accuracy. I use Navitel version 7.0.0.176 as a navigator. I can’t compare navigation with the old tablet, because it didn’t smell there, so I’ll compare Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110 with Chinese smartphone on the MTK Lenovo A378T processor.

This smart has GPS, there is also an opinion that MediaTek processors are not very friendly with navigation. Is it so? My subjective opinion: yes, it is! Lenovo with a cold start in 3-4 minutes found 4 satellites. With the next connections, the number of satellites did not change, only once they became as many as 9! Yes, and the accuracy and speed of positioning, although not bad, but leaves much to be desired.

Samsung has a different picture, and it seems to me that there are two explanations for this: firstly, the Marvell PXA986 chip (I apologize for the wrong terminology: either a processor or a chip ... we all know what is actually right to say soc, but broken down into processor, video, etc. somehow more familiar and intelligible) is better suited for navigation than MediaTek MT6572 in Lenovo A378T, and secondly, GLONASS support is GLONASS support. And immediately there is confidence for navigation in the future, and the presence additional satellites is also a definite plus.

So, a cold start on 3 Lite SM-T 110 takes one and a half to two minutes, after which we consistently have 13-14 satellites. I am not strong in the theory of navigation, but I know that 4 satellites are needed for unambiguous positioning, and the more satellites, the more accurate and faster the positioning. Samsung, compared to Lenovo, determines its location more accurately and faster and makes fewer mistakes.

What else? Wi-Fi works flawlessly, Bluetooth too. I’ll tell you about synchronization with a computer separately a little later.

Thus, I will attribute the screen, battery, appearance and navigation to the advantages of the tablet. What about his shortcomings? There are absolutely none!

Joke. As without flaws - I have them, that is, the tablet. I have no.

First, it is the lack of support for external devices. I connected both flash drives and a USB modem to my old tablet via an OTG cable. Very comfortably. Here, according to the incomprehensible logic of Samsung, this is not the case.

Secondly, synchronization with a computer only via Wi-Fi, via a miniUSB cord, the tablet is not only not detected as a drive, but it is not even charged. Through the miniUSB port, the tablet is defined either as a multimedia device (allows you to transfer multimedia files to a PC) or as a camera (PTP). Personally, in order to upload any files to a Samsung tablet, I use the following methods: if the file is small, then I upload it from a PC via miniUSB to Explay MU220, and transfer it from my phone via Bluetooth to the tablet; if the file is large, then I copy it to the phone (to the memory card), and then I insert the memory card from the phone into the tablet. None of the methods is ever convenient, but what can you do. And yes, it doesn't happen that often.

Third, the camera. The camera is one, rear, two-megapixel, without flash and autofocus. The pictures are obtained (even the word "received" is of little use here) of poor quality even in good lighting, there is not enough brightness and saturation. Detailing at two megapixels, by definition, cannot be. Yes, even if you are in the zone of free (or paid, but available) Wi-Fi, you will not be able to use the camera for Skype, since it is not frontal. It just interferes.

Fourth, buttons. I have already mentioned that the central button is easy to press and accidental pressing is possible. So, accidental pressing of the power button is even more possible, which often happens to me. I won’t say that this is a big problem, but sometimes annoying.

Fifth, the lack of support for 3G in particular and SIM in general. This is a minus, but for me it is not critical at all. Use tablet for telephone conversations I'm not going - for this there is a phone that suits me perfectly, but I don't need 3G either - it would be better if there was OTG support.

Sixth, the Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110 gets hot. Maybe it's specifically my copy that is so easily excited, because there was no mention of heating in the reviews of other owners of this device. At normal work the tablet practically does not heat up, but under load, especially in games, something in his body heats up to 40-43 degrees Celsius. The heating is not that strong, it practically does not cause discomfort, and in winter you can also warm up. That's just the sensor starts to dull a little when heated, and maybe the system itself; But the fact is that the sensor does not perceive every movement of the finger when the tablet is heated. Well, again, everything is known in comparison: Digma idj7 did not warm up at all, but the sensor slowed down almost constantly. I did a stability test in AnTuTu, and this is what happened:

There are suspicions that the battery is heating up, but only an autopsy can unambiguously show this.

As, probably, everyone has already noticed, I lack OTG support and normal synchronization with a PC in this tablet.

What functions do I use and which do not? Everything is clear from the above. I often use the tablet as an e-book, rarely as a navigator. I don't use my tablet's camera at all. Again, I plan to use the tablet for Internet access only when traveling, provided that there is a Wi-Fi network. Also, I do not use Samsung's proprietary launcher - this is TouchWiz; I do not like it, and somehow it works slowly. I installed the launcher built into Android 4.2.2, it completely suits me. The lock screen and settings are from Samsung.

I have not had to repair this complex electronic device and, I hope, will not have to. Moreover, it, a device that is not collapsible, cannot be repaired by the stove itself. But about buggy troubles, I can provide one fact. True, I am solely to blame for this trouble, but nevertheless, I will not remain silent.

It all started with my irrepressible curiosity. Smart Lenovo A378T I bought in China through the Aliexpress marketplace, and it came already rooted (thanks to the kind neighbors on the eastern border of the country). And then some Samsung and without Root. Disorder! Google, as always, did not remain indifferent to my problems and gave out a whole bunch of links to articles with recommendations for obtaining Root rights on this tablet. And so I downloaded TWRP Recovery for Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110, installed TWRP on the tablet, installed UPDATE-SuperSU via TWRP, rebooted, and... and everything worked out!

So I don't need these rights, but it's a matter of principle. I removed the Samsung built-in applications and forgot about this Root. And TWRP still tormented me - after a few days I made a backup of the system. Then I just climbed into TWRP, then I got tired of it, rebooted the tablet ... And it loads again in TWRP Recovery mode. The trouble is... No matter how much I tormented him, everything turned out to be useless. It boots either in Downloading mode or in TWRP mode.

I downloaded the program for flashing Samsung devices - Odin is called. With its help, I uploaded all kinds of Recovery to the tablet - both TWRP and CWM, nothing helped. I had to download the firmware on the tablet and use Odin to reflash. The flashing only affected the internal memory, the user partition remained untouched. And again on a well-trodden track: installing TWRP, getting Root, rebooting. So far, everything works and does not glitch.

In confirmation of the successful receipt of Root-rights, the following screen:

I can only compare this tablet - Samsung 3 Lite SM-T 110 - with the Digma idj7 tablet and the Lenovo A378T smartphone. What can I say here: in almost everything Samsung is better than Digma (remember OTG); and comparing a tablet with a smartphone is not entirely correct, but still: the screen is better for Lenovo, the launcher is also better, the smart camera, although inferior, is better than that of the hero of the review. But it is better to read books on a tablet, and its navigation is on top.

In general, the tablet gets an honest 5 points out of 10, and taking into account my requirements for it, all 8 points. Why is that? Yes, because if you evaluate it objectively, and even take into account its cost in stores, then this is just a failed model. And 5 points is too much for him. This is bad. And for the amount of about three thousand rubles I received a tablet that suits me in almost all respects. And this is good! And I wish you the same and more health!

We already have two such tablets in our house!)) They were bought for mom and for a girl, but I liked it so much that one of them turned out to be common!

Those who paid attention to Samsung tablets know that they did not work for the budget segment, the cheapest models went from 2300 and above. (8000 rubles), but this year they decided to cover the lower price range, simplifying several models, and thereby reducing their cost. Thus, the Lite line of tablets appeared, I am familiar with the T110 and T111 representatives, the difference between them is only in 3G, it is not in the T110. And since none of us need him, we chose him. Yes, how these tablets differ from their more expensive counterparts - the battery is slightly weaker and there is no front camera. The cover of the back panel has also changed, if on more expensive models it is made of glossy plastic, here it is a matte soft-touch cover, under the skin. For me, this option is better than gloss on such a device.

Now about the tablet in more detail.

Design. Of course, since it was bought for the fair sex, they bought models in white, but for myself personally, I would take white! Looks very stylish and expensive! The Back and Context menu keys are placed on the panel under the screen, they are touch-sensitive, the Home key is located between them, it is mechanical. This solution distinguishes the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T110 from other Android tablets. At first it was not familiar to me, now I'm used to it, it suits me perfectly.

Screen. Diagonal 7", resolution 1024x600. Capacitive. The image is clear, the brightness is enough, even in the sun the screen remains quite readable, although of course it fades. Some complain about the lack of color saturation, I don’t know ... for me the colors are quite saturated. I found fault with something, it's great for a tablet.

Sound. There is only one speaker, but it is very loud. At least it will be comfortable to watch a movie without headphones in a not very noisy room. No whistles or wheezing were noticed.

Wi-Fi catches perfectly, even with one division, nothing slows down.

Camera. Purely symbolic, 2mp, as on an inexpensive mobile phone. Well, I tried to photograph the text, everything is perfectly readable. But do not count on high-quality pictures as from a good camera. For me, in general, a camera is not really needed in a tablet, claims against it are even annoying. It's like putting a camera in a laptop and expecting the quality of a DSLR... There is and is something you can take a picture of, but for photo shoots with a company, it's better to use special equipment.

    Battery. Battery capacity 3600 mAh Time battery life (h) 9 (web) / 8 (video) / 200 (audio)

When buying, they were charged by 55%, yesterday they used 4 hours and today 2 hours, they got excited only up to 29%. I am pleased with such results, it is enough for me to have enough from morning to evening for reading, the Internet and films.

Equipment. simple, not rich. USB cable and network adapter. Headphones, protective film and case are not included. That is, the protective film was only as an element of packaging. Fully covering the screen with a black rectangle with inscriptions.

Power. Dual core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM. Well, enough for our requirements. Reading, Internet, movies, no brakes. NFS starts up, doesn't seem to slow down. But I don’t often play on my computer either, on a tablet I also consider games to be something superfluous. It’s inconvenient to play something serious, and shooting at strawberries or catching mice on the screen seems like a pointless task for me ... But if someone needs it, this tablet will do it!

By the way, for some reason the video plays without sound, writes about some problems with codecs. If you dig, I think you can fix it, I just downloaded another program - MX Player, and at the top I chose the Software decoder instead of the hardware one, the sound appeared. Everything is very simple.

I have not bought a cover yet, but I will attribute the feature of the covers to the disadvantages - they are wildly expensive! The simplest of relatives - from 250 UAH, if prettier then 300-350 (1200-1500r), although there is nothing special about them, rubber and plastic. We pay for beauty and brand! They wanted to buy something cheaper from universal ones - this tablet looks like a white rose in manure! He still deserves a native cover that repeats its shape and style. So you still have to fork out.

Headphones will also have to be purchased separately if you do not have them.

The film cost 100 UAH, not native, the panel with buttons turned out without a film, for me this is not critical. If you want a native film that completely repeats the location of the buttons, then get ready that it will be difficult to find and it will cost two to three times more than the universal one.

Just pictures of the tablet from all sides))

That's all, in general, no special shortcomings have been revealed yet, only advantages!))
