DIY infrared clothes dryer. Clothes drying cabinet - different designs and their advantages and disadvantages Homemade clothes drying cabinet

Big headache - wet shoes! Under normal conditions, it dries for a long time, and you can get your feet wet in a couple of minutes. Do not stock up on dry boots. This article will describe how to deal with this problem.

Our beloved garden and well-kept garden needs attention in any weather. And restless children want to play in the garden in the summer in the rain and lie in the winter in snowdrifts! Wet clothes and wet shoes, of course, do not scare us, but how nice it is when there is a special locker for drying! It provides a place where you can not only store, but also quickly dry wet boots, jackets and hats. For this closet the best place- in the hallway, the size of the closet depends on the area of the room.

Principle of operation

Drying in the closet occurs due to the injection of warm air by an electric fan. Humid air is removed from the cabinet into the box through the ventilation hole located on the top cover. The drying cabinet works with minimal energy consumption and almost no noise.

We later replaced the oil heater with a fan heater. Its temperature is not so high and the airflow is faster. Warm jets of air rise up and gradually dry damp clothes and shoes without spoiling them. And after an hour and a half things are dry.

Progress

1. To assemble the side walls, we used furniture boards. They were cut to size and cleaned up. The optimal ones were: cabinet height - 230 cm, width - 120 cm, depth - 60 cm.

2. First, the cabinet frame was assembled. Shelves were fixed along the bottom between the walls with the help of self-tapping screws and bars. Holes were drilled in the upper shelves for hoods with a diameter of 100 mm.

3. The back wall of the cabinet measuring 230 x 120 cm was made of thick plywood. At the level of 160 cm from the floor, a clothes hanger was strengthened.

4. An area for installing an oil heater was left at the bottom of the cabinet. For fire safety purposes, the walls around the heater were insulated with a sheet of galvanized iron. Shelves made of bars with through holes were installed above the heater.

5. The last stage is the installation of an air exhaust pipe. A corrugated pipe was inserted into the opening at the top of the cabinet; it removes warm, humid air. By the way, you can use a tin pipe (round or rectangular in cross section). The pipe was attached and an exhaust grill was installed., Drilled into the wall of the house

ventilation hole, from the street closed with insulation. Both from the side of the facade and in the hallway, the edges of the pipe were hidden under the skin.

6. We prepared the cabinet doors, made through holes at the bottom for air intake from the hallway. The assembled cabinet was painted with waterproof furniture varnish.

Clothes dryer is the most necessary household item in our life. But it is not always possible to afford to buy a quality dryer that will last a long time. What to do in this case? Make your own dryer! There are many options. And all of them will not take much time and money to make them.

Do-it-yourself clothes dryers: manufacturing options

Here are some options for simple and compact dryers that you can make yourself.

We make a rope dryer with screws

Do you have a free corner that is not being used? If yes, then it is possible to make a compact dryer from a minimum of parts. For this we need:

  • Clothesline.
  • Wooden planks.
  • A set of screws with a ring.
  • Hacksaw.

Let's start making:

Clothes dryer ready!

Somehow, in our country house, a metal clothes dryer broke down - the folding mechanism fell apart. And, as luck would have it, that day they started a big laundry. What to do? In thought, I went outside, and then my eyes caught on the bathhouse and the outbuilding a few meters from it. A plan instantly formed in my head. I quickly ran for everything I needed: a simple rope, nails and a hammer. And got to work. On opposite walls, she nailed six nails at a certain distance from each other to the height of her height, slightly bending their hats up to make it easier to twist the rope around them. And then, in a zigzag, from one wall to another, she stretched a rope through all the carnations, pulling it so that it would not sag. And in the end I got a neat outdoor clothes dryer for a short time.
Such a dryer can be made near the battery

Let's start making the dryer:

  1. After fixing the wooden blocks, mark the places for future holes. The distance between them should be 10-15 cm.
    Fix the wooden part of the future dryer - this will make it easier to drill holes
  2. Drill holes with a drill.
    The diameter of the drill should be slightly larger than the thickness of the rope, for easy threading
  3. Measure the desired length of rope and cut a number equal to the number of holes on one piece of wood.
  4. Pull the clothesline through the outermost hole, secure the end of the rope with a strong knot.
  5. On the other side of the hole, make another knot so that later the load does not press on the rope.
    Choose a strong rope - it will last longer
  6. Do these manipulations with all the ropes.
  7. To secure the future dryer on the balcony or to a tree, take twine. Measure the desired length and cut four pieces. Then take two pieces, connect their ends and tie them together. Fasten the opposite ends with a knot at the two extreme holes of the wood blank. You should get a triangle. Try to tie so that its sides are the same - for the stability of the structure.
    It is a pleasure to use such a dryer - if necessary, it can be easily untied and removed until the next wash.
  8. Do the same with the other piece of wood.

The clothes dryer is ready. Hang it in a place that suits you.

Folding dryer do it yourself

Takes up minimal space

In order to make such a dryer, you will need:

  • Wood blocks for the frame.
  • Smooth wooden sticks or thin metal rods.
  • A sheet of plywood for the base is a centimeter larger than the future frame.
  • Furniture hinges. For a large size dryer - two, for a small - one.
  • Folding mechanism.
  • Fastener set.
  • Fixing latch.
  • Roulette.
  • Hacksaw.

Progress:

  1. Measure the desired length on the bars and saw off the excess.
  2. In the bars that will be on the sides, use a drill to make non-through holes at the same distance, with a diameter slightly larger than the future slats.
  3. Then insert rods into them.
  4. Assemble the frame by fastening the bars with nails or self-tapping screws.
  5. Using furniture hinges, connect the underside of the frame to the plywood base.
  6. Attach the folding mechanisms to the sides, and the fixing lock on top of the frame.
  7. Fix the dryer to the wall.

Dryer with battery attachments

This dryer dries quickly.

Such a dryer takes up little space - if necessary, it can easily be removed from the battery, easily disassembled and put away in a closet, for example.

To make a dryer you will need:

  • Polypropylene pipes.
  • Corners and tees.
  • Hacksaw.
  • Roulette.
  • Pencil.

Let's start crafting:

  1. Use a tape measure to measure the size of the battery.
  2. Cut the pipes for the rods according to the length of the battery. You will also need short lengths for the gaps between the rods and a little longer for attaching to the battery.
  3. Connect the structure with corners and tees. Make fastenings to the battery at an angle of 90 about to the frame.

Wooden grating for the bath

This dryer is great for drying small items.

This is the easiest clothes dryer to make - it requires a minimum of parts and time spent on its assembly.

You will need:

  • Wooden slats.
  • Self-tapping screws.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Lacquer for wood.
  • Sandpaper.

Let's start assembling:

We take wooden slats and saw off the desired length, focusing on the width of the bath. You will need 6-7 rails. You will also need transverse rails, on which you will mount the longitudinal ones - 2-3 pieces, the length depending on the desired width of the dryer. All parts must be sanded to get rid of notches. Now we take short slats, we put long slats perpendicularly on top - at some distance from each other. It remains to connect the intersections with screws. For the durability of the grate, treat it with varnish.

Drying cabinet

The assembly of such a cabinet is carried out using furniture panels, its height is 220-230 cm, width 60-90 cm and depth 40-50 cm. The interior space of the cabinet is equipped with strips for clothes and shelves for shoes.
Diagram of a wardrobe for drying clothes

A drying cabinet for clothes is necessary in factories, ski resorts or in Everyday life where even in the sun a pair of pants may not dry out in a day. Do you need a drying cabinet, and if so, how to choose one?

Where else can it be used?

It is appropriate to install a drying cabinet for shoes and clothes in preschool. The health of the kids and the durability of things depend on the state of the children's wardrobe between walks.

For medical institutions and laboratories, vacuum drying cabinets are produced with the functions of sterilization, calcination, disinfection and drying at high temperatures.

The advantage of a drying cabinet over a drying machine is that it can process not only wet, but also damp things, even in unheated rooms. The capacity of an average drying cabinet corresponds to the volume of laundry that is hung on 15 meters of a clothesline.

Drying cabinet for shoes and clothes

A heating element and a fan are installed in the metal box tray, their operating modes are set on the control panel. From the heater, warm air enters the closet and circulates between wet clothes.

Before starting work, you need to load the drying cabinet: hang out outerwear, put hats and mittens on the shelves, put out shoes, then set the required temperature and start the timer. You can dry both a down jacket and leather boots at the same time - this is a huge plus of the device.

The timer, on average, supports modes from 4 hours of operation to infinity. Drying takes place in temperature conditions from 40 to 340 ℃ (but such a maximum temperature is found only on profile cabinets), depending on the model of the device. Household cabinets operate within a temperature range of 40 to 60℃. The noise level is comparable to a vacuum cleaner - about 55 dB, and the performance depends on the dimensions of the model - you can load from 3.5 kg of wet laundry into the drying cabinet.

Programs

The drying cabinet is effective due to automatic programs, determining the degree of humidity of unloading: fromdry and extra dry, before accelerated drying ; as well as programs for heating, drying, cold drying and so on. Just like a modern washing machine or dishwasher: you get a device that is fully customizable for the type of drying, desired temperature, cycle time and, in most cases, you can even delay the start of drying up to 24 hours.

Drying cabinet installation

The drying cabinet must be installed in a well-ventilated area or connected to ventilation system pipe, which is included in the delivery. The device is connected to a conventional socket with a voltage of 220 watts. Due to the overall dimensions of some models, it is better to resort to the help of an installer (or at least a loader - it will be hard to drag one yourself).

Models and equipment of the drying cabinet

Structurally, the models of drying cabinets are made according to the type of wardrobe: single and double doors. Inside they are divided into two or more chambers. Each chamber is provided with mesh mobile shelves, crossbars for outerwear and shoe bars. For example, the ShSO-2000-4 drying cabinet for clothes has four separate drying chambers and two tiers. This arrangement allows four users to dry things compactly at the same time. The dimensions of such a model are 1.81x0.8x0.5 m. In low cells, children's things or work jackets will be favorably placed.

Price:OK. 25 thousand rubles.

For long coats, sports or work overalls and high shoes a KIDBOX 5 drying cabinet with a different layout is suitable - five narrow autonomous cells with separate locks.

Price:OK. 30 thousand rubles.

For larger needs, you can consider a model of a drying cabinet for 8 sets of clothes and a separate section for shoes - RANGER 8. It is twice as wide as the first model (and more expensive, respectively): 1.9x1.8x0.62 m.

With such a volume, you can easily put in order the form of a sports team with some equipment. For example, leather balls and nets after playing on open field need drying no less than sneakers. By the way, the nominal operating temperature of this drying cabinet is 60℃, which is recommended for drying leather goods and shoes.

Price:RANGER 8 costs approx. 45 thousand rubles.

It is appropriate to consider installing a drying cabinet next to the washing machine. For example, a model of a double-leaf drying cabinet for clothes ShSO-2000 will dry one wash bookmark in a rainy off-season in 4 hours, even in an unheated basement or utility room.

Price: OK. 23 thousand rubles.

All models are equipped with mesh shelves that can be rearranged to different levels.

Safety

Consider the minimum safety features that a drying cabinet should have, using the Russian-made HotStorm W model as an example:

  • turning off the heating element when the door is opened;
  • forced cooling after the end of the program;
  • “emergency stop” in case of overheating;
  • electronic burnout control every 2 sec.

At the time of delivery of the drying cabinet, the buyer should check the availability of all components of the drying cabinet, as shelves, straps and bars for shoes are not universal for all models.

You can dry clothes directly on the battery. It's convenient and fast. True, there is little benefit from such drying - neither for things, nor for the radiator.

Dryers for heating radiators

Advantages:

  • the speed of the process.

Flaws:

  • the fabric dries out too much when in contact with hot pipes;
  • do not dry clothes and linen made of synthetic materials;
  • stains on the surface of the batteries;

Important: it is strictly forbidden to dry clothes on oil radiators without using a dryer. . You can hang some clothes on the radiator: maximum a blouse or shirt and several pairs of tights or socks

There are more problems with bed linen. If the pillowcases fit completely, then the sheets and duvet covers will hang down to the floor. You will have to dry them one by one. After such a merciless drying, all the laundry will be hard and unpleasant to the touch - this is how too hot air acts on the fabric.

Ready-made clothes dryer for a battery

For the reasons listed above, the best option is to dry the laundry in the immediate vicinity of the radiator with a dryer placed nearby.

Ready battery dryers are a design of a rectangular frame and two holders attached to the battery in the manner of hooks. Inside the frame are tightly stretched strings.

Such a dryer is not designed for a large amount of laundry - a maximum of 5 kg.

Drying things on the dryer

Advantages:

  • clothes and linen dry quickly due to the constant influx of dry warm air;
  • the design takes up little space, suitable for rooms of any size;
  • easy to install and does not require additional fasteners, unlike wall and ceiling dryers;
  • light weight;

Flaws:

  • the capacity of the design is severely limited by the width of the radiator;
  • not intended for a large amount of linen and items such as sheets, duvet covers and curtains;
  • the clothes dryer is close to the floor, some things will have to be folded so that they do not hang down;
  • the proximity of the floor is the reason for the rapid collection of dust;
  • availability of clothes and linen for children and animals.

floor dryer option

Important: synthetic items must be hung farther from the battery, otherwise they may lose their shape.

Decide on the installation location of the ceiling dryer. It is best if this place is well ventilated and sunny - a balcony is ideal. Just measure well the distance at which you will screw the dryer so that it does not happen that it will prevent you from being on it.

To make this design you will need:

  • Drill;
  • Iron screw-in loops;
  • Plastic-coated wires with hooks at both ends;
  • 4 large hooks, 2 of which are with wheels;
  • Rope;
  • Wooden frame;

Technology and manufacturing process

If you didn't find finished frame you can make it yourself.

  1. To do this, take 4 screws and 4 wooden blocks, of which two will be half as long as the other two.
  2. Fold them like a frame and fasten with screws.
  3. For greater strength, you can use iron corners.
  4. With a drill, drill an equal number of holes inside the horizontal bars of the frame. Screw loops into them. Hook the wire hooks into the loops. Choose the length of the wire according to the distance of the length inside the frame so that the wire does not sag.
  5. Drill at the 4 corners of the frame holes, insert a short rope into them and secure with knots.
  6. In the middle, tie knots with eyelets to which you tie along a long rope, and thread them through the hooks with wheels (these hooks are attached to the ceiling) so that they rise and fall smoothly.
  7. Insert the third hook into the ceiling a little further from the frame.
  8. Pass through it 2 fixed ropes.
  9. Fasten the last hook below the lowered level of the frame to the wall, fasten the ropes in it. Thus, you can adjust the height of your dryer.

Here are some more variations of such a ceiling dryer: it can be made simply from smooth beams or simply by hanging a light ladder and pulling on additional threads to dry clothes. Frame variations can be varied.

A drying cabinet is a metal structure in which, in addition to the usual elements of a wardrobe, shoes and hats can be placed and dried. To fulfill its intended purpose, it is equipped with a heater, as well as the necessary automation system, which is responsible for the functionality of the device.

  • Purpose of drying cabinets and their features
  • Types of drying cabinets

Filling the household drying cabinet

To the main features of this household appliances can be attributed:

  • safety of all heating equipment, as well as equipment with emergency shutdown in case of power surges;
  • the presence of natural or forced ventilation;
  • equipment necessary for more convenient use of LED lighting, ionizers and flavors;
  • the presence of an information display, a built-in timer and a digital temperature controller;
  • the possibility of using additional options and automatic programs, which include a delay in time, convection drying with setting parameters according to the degree of moisture saturation to achieve the desired result.

The air heated to the temperature set by the user causes a quick drying of things compared to normal indoor conditions. The moisture that is released during the drying process is removed from the appliance through the ventilation system used. For more convenient placement of things and shoes in the closet, there are special shelves, stacks and hooks. Their number and size depends on the dimensions of the equipment itself, as well as the preferences of the manufacturer who manufactured this equipment. This piece of furniture is designed for standard voltage equal to 220V, current load not exceeding 6A. Its power rating can reach 1 kW per section at a maximum heating temperature of 70 degrees Celsius.

For safe use, the scheme of the drying cabinet implies the presence of insulation of the heating element, made of two layers of heat-insulating material, providing protection from direct exposure to moisture. Also for this purpose, a pipe with a gate is mounted inside, which is designed for a moisture removal device. It is for this reason that when placing a cabinet in an apartment, it is necessary to provide for the possibility of removing humid air through this system. Otherwise, all excess moisture will enter the room, while violating the internal favorable microclimate. In order to prevent warm air from escaping through the walls of the structure, they are equipped with a layer of thermal insulation, the optimal thickness of which in this case is from 2 to 3 mm.

Wall-mounted clothes dryer how to do it yourself

This design is a great opportunity to show your creative powers, because this device is easy to make, but originality and love for creating things with your own hands will come in handy.

You can make a small dryer, which, after hours, will serve as a decorative element on the balcony.

Materials and tools will need the following:

  • wooden rods,
  • nails or screws
  • wooden bars,
  • dye,
  • furniture hinge,
  • fixing lock,
  • base board,
  • folding mechanism,
  • furniture buttons.

First of all, you need to assemble the mobile component of the dryer. To do this, you need to measure and cut the bars in the amount of four pieces to get a frame. After that, you need to cut four identical segments of wooden rods. Deepenings are carefully made in the bars with a drill, where the rods will be inserted.

Rope drying for clothes on a roller mechanism can be taken out of the perimeter of the balcony

The rods must be inserted tightly enough so that the grate comes out strong - nevertheless, things can hang heavy there. To make the structure more convenient to assemble, the rods, having trimmed, can be narrowed at the ends.

  • You need to make sure that the dryer is smooth, the crossbars are parallel, the rods are thoroughly fixed. If you leave some irregularities, outwardly the balcony will clearly not win. If you are convinced that everything is fine, the upper and lower bars are attached with screws or nails to the structure.
  • The base board, which will be on the wall, is adjusted in size to the grate you have already made. The width will be equal to the lattice, and the length of the board should be 10 centimeters longer than the lattice. These parts are connected by a furniture loop.

A folding wooden clothes dryer is not difficult to make with your own hands

With the help of ropes and rings screwed into the wall, you can make a simple dryer

  • Now you can start painting the future dryer. The color is taken the one that will only decorate the balcony. For example, if your balcony has a pistachio color, the dryer can be a tone lighter, or a tone darker. In general, any color that will please the eye of the owner will do.
  • Once the paint was dry, it was time to complete the dryer with all the missing functional pieces. A fixing lock is attached to the top of the dryer.
  • The folding mechanism should be screwed on the side. The size of it depends on how much you want the wall-mounted clothes dryer to unfold. Someone needs it not to occupy the balcony by more than a fifth, someone is ready to sacrifice more space.
  • Now, at the bottom of the base board, you need to mark three points, between which there will be an equal distance, drill small holes at these points and fix furniture buttons in them. Furniture buttons are handles that, if desired, can also replace simple hooks.

The design is ready! The end result will be a nice compact structure made of a board, for example, in peach color and a snow-white lattice with buttons under the bottom. When necessary, the grate moves forward, and things dry on it. When not needed, it leans against the base board, and looks like a wall decoration.

It is convenient to hang things on a hanger on furniture buttons or hooks, which should, for example, be ventilated. This design, of course, will not only decorate the balcony, but also save space on it.

Do-it-yourself clothes dryer on the balcony (video)

Convenient do-it-yourself clothes dryer

It is convenient to use a portable dryer, it is placed anywhere, and when not needed, it simply folds up and stows away in a secluded corner. There are many such models on sale, but with your own hands it turns out no worse. Material required for making:

  • 20 mm chipboard or MDF boards;
  • screws and nuts M6 - 4 pcs.;
  • nuts M3 - 48 pcs.;
  • furniture screws - 4 pcs.;
  • furniture wheels - 4 pcs.;
  • tubes with a diameter of 18 and 16 mm;
  • furniture handles - 2;
  • stainless steel rod with a diameter of 3 mm.

We start with the manufacture of the case:

  1. We cut out 2 blanks for the side walls measuring 70x20 cm and one for the bottom 60x20 cm.
  2. Stepping back from the top edge of the side panel 12 mm, we drill a hole with a diameter of 6.5 mm. At a distance of 176 mm from the center of the first hole, we drill a second one of the same diameter. We do the same for 2 panels.
  3. We start assembling the case from the bottom, fastening the side strips from the bottom with the help of furniture screws.
  4. We attach furniture wheels to the body.
  5. We insert M6 nuts into the ends of the ties cut out of the pipe and weld along the contour.
  6. We put on screeds restrictive rings 5 mm wide, cut out of a pipe with a diameter of 22 mm and bushings 30 mm long, prepared from the same pipe.
  7. The restrictive ring is welded to the screed.
  8. We make a frame from a 16 mm pipe. First, cut off 2 blanks and mark the sides. In the center of the side of the frame, we put on a sleeve limited on 2 sides by rings welded to the frame pipe.
  9. Pipes are bent. You will get 2 U-shaped blanks.
  10. On a long section of the frame pipe with inside drill holes for the rods.
  11. We cut 12 blanks from a bar with a diameter of 3 mm.
  12. On the blanks on both sides we cut the M3 thread. We insert the rod into the holes and fix it with two nuts on each side.
  13. We weld racks to the sleeve on the sides, put a plug on the end.
  14. We weld the right and left parts of the frame to the bushings on the couplers.
  15. We connect the frame to the body with screws.
  16. We fix furniture handles on the sides of the case.

A practical outdoor clothes dryer is ready.

DIY clothes drying cabinet

The principle of operation of such devices is to circulate air using a fan heater. Humid air is fed into the duct and through it into the vent. The case renders the minimum expenses of the electric power and practically does not make noise. Such work should be preserved if you want to assemble a do-it-yourself drying cabinet for clothes. Classic fan heaters are suitable for air supply.

The difficult stage in the assembly is the installation of a pipe for extracting moist air. To do this, a corrugated pipe is inserted into the upper part of the body; it can be round or rectangular in shape. Its second end is installed on the exhaust grille. A hole is drilled in the wall, insulation is carried out from the street. The pipe is completely hidden under the skin. The body itself is made of metal, through holes are drilled in the doors for air supply. At the end of the collection, the equipment is treated with waterproof furniture varnish.

Do-it-yourself ceiling dryer installation

Ceiling dryer is perfect for loggias and balconies. You can make wooden, plastic or metal structures, it all depends on the availability of the material.

To create a simple dryer on the balcony, you need:

  • 6 polypropylene pipes of the same size, ½ balcony long;
  • Strong rope;
  • 2 wooden planks.

Through polypropylene tubes and holes pre-drilled in the planks, we pass the rope, and we attach the structure to the ceiling of the loggia. It is worth considering the height of the dryer. It should be at the level of the raised hands, and above the head, so that when they enter the loggia, they do not injure the household.

Ceiling dryer is perfect for loggias and balconies

It is also necessary to paint the wooden planks, as wood is susceptible to dampness and moisture.

Hanging damp things on such a dryer will be easy, due to the scrolling of the pipes around the rope. Multi-colored things will not be painted, as the tubes can be easily washed and wiped.

For a bathroom, a ceiling dryer can be made from plastic pipes, with an accordion mechanism, self-tapping screws and hooks.

We assemble the dryer according to the instructions. To do this, we measure the required width, and drill holes in the wall of the bathroom, unless, of course, it is a pity for the repairs made in it, and we fix the assembled structure. Such an accordion-shaped dryer can be extended to a certain length, however, it is strictly forbidden to broadcast heavy things.

In the bathroom, a lattice made of wooden slats is perfect. Such a dryer is placed on the bathroom, and you can put wet, heavy things on it to drain water.

Structural scheme, size, shape and material for the manufacture of drying cabinets

All drying cabinets are a rectangular box made using thin-sheet galvanized or stainless steel, which is not very susceptible to high humidity and mechanical stress. As a box frame in the case of industrial cabinets, metal pipes reinforced with stiffeners are used. This design feature necessary due to the significant weight of a large number of clothing sets.

The inner part of the drying cabinet is also made of sheet material in the form of a rectangular box, but with smaller dimensions. This chamber is directly connected to the base block, which contains all the controls for temperature and operating modes, a fan heater and a heating element. Removable telescopic rods, roof rails, baskets and perforated shelves are used as equipment elements.

To protect everything metal parts from exposure to high humidity, the inner surface of the chamber, as well as all the equipment, are covered with a powder polymer composition. If we are talking about industrial drying cabinets, then this coating also has an outer box, since most often in those rooms where drying cabinets are installed, the humidity level is also elevated.

The dimensions of this furniture are determined by their main purpose. So industrial drying equipment is more impressive in size than universal ones, which are most often used in apartments that accommodate and use only a few people. Children's wardrobes are even smaller in size so that a child of small stature can easily use all the shelves and hangers that this appliance is equipped with. It should be borne in mind that the height of the device is the most significant in comparison with other parameters. The greater the height of the cabinet, the faster the drying of things is carried out, since the circulation of heated air and the removal of moisture through the ventilation system take place more quickly.

The standard dimensions of universal cabinets are 1.85x0.6x0.6 m in height, width and depth, respectively. The size of children's wardrobes is 1.5x0.35 m, while their width depends on the number of sections, which in this case can be 3, 5 or more. Given the need of consumers for domestic use, manufacturers in most cases divide the drying cabinet into 4 sections. This separation contributes to increased hygiene, as it allows you to dry outdoor items separately from those items and textiles that are intended for the home. The minimum number of sections in the appliance can be 2, otherwise the constant opening and closing of the door would cause significant heat loss.

Places for drying clothes

Until quite recently, our grandmothers did not consider drying clothes a problem. All playgrounds with yards were literally covered with clothes, sheets and so on.

Today, everything has changed dramatically. We are talking about the lack of free space: houses are growing in height at a breakneck pace, and the size and number of yard areas has significantly decreased. In addition, the number of cars is increasing, and few people want to hang their laundry in a smoky car park.

The only reasonable way out of this situation is an apartment. Moreover, this decision does not bother only those owners whose apartments are located on the second and higher floors. But what about those people who live on the first floor and their apartment is not equipped with a balcony? There are three options here:

  • make a clothes dryer in the bathroom or on the balcony;
  • connect the window and the nearest tree with a strong rope;
  • buy portable.

Many people are skeptical about the option of buying a portable dryer. This is due, first of all, to the bulkiness of the structure, which will have to be laid out and moved from place to place all the time. Therefore, the best option is to use home-made drying.

Now let's look at the types of dryers. They are divided into:

  • floor (portable);
  • wall;
  • ceiling.

Each type has its own characteristics, which we will discuss below.

Wall-mounted clothes dryer

In this master class, we will make a very stylish wall-mounted dryer, it can be hung not only on the balcony, but also, for example, in the hallway or in the kitchen. Its advantage is that it is foldable and takes up very little space when closed.

Prepare the following tools:

  • Poplar board, not necessary, but desirable (the size of the dryer depends on its size);
  • 4 bars for the frame, preferably from birch;
  • 4-5 thin wooden rods;
  • 2 small door hinges;
  • Small lock on a separate latch;
  • 3 porcelain handles;
  • Tilt and turn lock (as for plastic windows);
  • D-shaped hanger rings;
  • Drill;
  • Nails, hammer;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Primer;
  • Any paint.

Assembly process

Step 1: making the frame of the dryer

  • Cut the wooden rods so that they do not exceed the length of the future frame in size.
  • Drill right amount holes in 2 bars and insert the rods into them, using a hammer to strengthen them there. Nail long bars to smaller ones.
  • We get a frame with already inserted rods.

Step 2: painting the dryer

Apply a primer to the poplar board, and after it dries, paint of any color. We recommend painting the frame in White color so it will be more beautiful. Wait until everything dries well.

Step 3: mounting the hinges

  1. Attach the frame to the poplar board by screwing them together with door hinges. Be careful - you need to fasten the frame only from below and only from the side that is in contact with the board. Leave a place at the bottom of the board for porcelain handles.
  2. For the lock, drill a couple of holes on the top bar of the frame, and for its latch at the top of the board. Drill three holes at the same distance below the frame and screw on the porcelain handles.

Drill only ½ of the required length, and then tighten the screws - this way you are less likely to split the tree.

Step 4: Fastening

Measure 1/3 from the bottom of the entire length of the frame bar on which the rods are screwed, and screw the tilt-and-turn lock, fasten the other side to the board. With it, the frame will not fall off the board, but will hang securely in the air.

And the final touch - screw the hanger rings on the back of the board, on which you will hang the dryer to the wall.

You can safely dry your clothes on wooden rods, and hang clothes on a hanger on porcelain handles. This dryer is advantageous in terms of price, quality, and shelf life.

Types of drying cabinets

When choosing between a tumble dryer or a smaller tumble dryer for the home, it is important to understand the difference between them. The main distinguishing feature of drying cabinets from machines with this purpose is the absence of a drum. This is also their indisputable advantage, since things located on hangers and shelves do not crumple as it happens in the dryer drum. In accordance with the purpose of the device and its content, all models existing today can be divided into 3 main types, namely:

  • universal, designed for use not only in everyday life, but also in enterprises whose activities involve the constant presence of wet things, shoes or various textiles. This version of the drying cabinet involves the equipment with numerous shelves to achieve maximum space filling;

Universal drying cabinet in everyday life

Universal drying cabinet in the enterprise

  • industrial, designed for use in large factories for drying sets of clothes, shoes and hats. A distinctive feature of this technique is a large capacity compared to the universal options for drying cabinets, as well as the fact that their design is collapsible;Industrial drying cabinet
  • children's, intended for drying clothes of preschool children and pupils of schools. They have a small size, both in width and in height, for ease of use by people of small stature.

Children's drying cabinet with 5 sections

In addition to the purpose, drying cabinets differ in the way moist air is removed, which can be either natural or forced. In the first case, moisture is discharged outside the device through a special pipe, and in the second case, it remains inside the device, collecting in a special reservoir of the condensation system. In addition, simpler models of drying cabinets do not make it possible to regulate the level of humidity of things, and if necessary, get things wet, a person must determine this moment on his own by checking. More expensive models, on the other hand, have this function in themselves, and the drying process stops at the moment when things have exactly the level of humidity that is required.

Production of a floor dryer

An example of the original floor dryer-transformer

A homemade folding dryer in the simplest version is arranged on the principle of an ironing board. Only instead of a hard surface, a frame with strings stretched on it is used.

This model can be made from small wooden bars or metal tubes of small diameter. In a wooden version, instead of linen strings, planks made of bars can be used. In the metal version, it is more expedient to install tension elements, which can be used as simple clotheslines.

The assembly process is quite simple. Rigid elements of the frame and folding stands are made. Then these elements are attached to each other on hinges. Latches and linen strings are installed on the frame.

Such a model can be used not only at home, but also as an outdoor dryer. It can be used in the country, and after drying clothes on the street, it can be folded and put away. Simplicity of execution and mobility are the main advantages of such products.

Ceiling clothes dryers

They are considered the best options among their counterparts because of their compactness. Having hung even a significant amount of things, you can easily move around the balcony without bumping into drying things. They are also almost invisible. You can see her on your balcony only by raising your head.

The disadvantages include only the complexity of fastening, when compared with the wall option. However, this is most likely a nuance, not a drawback. Ceiling dryers are also divided into several types.

  1. Retractable (somewhat reminiscent of an accordion). It is located at the top point, but if desired, it unfolds like an accordion, forming a system with a large capacity.
  2. The capital dryer consists of ropes that are attached to blocks installed in parallel on the ceiling.
  3. Ceiling drying liana. Includes two fastening blocks connected with ropes and limiters. The design is bulky and rather complicated (see photo).

Such products are made mainly of aluminum, as it has sufficient strength and relatively low weight.

The progress of the drying cabinet

The first stage of work will involve the construction of a wardrobe with shoe racks and clothes hangers. We will consider the option of constructing a structure for the hallway, but if you wish, you can install several rods in the closet or stretch a clothesline, which will allow you to use it to dry freshly washed laundry.

  • When the walls are ready, we assemble the cabinet frame. In the lower part we install metal shelves for shoes, and in the upper part for hats (they can be purchased ready-made). It is desirable that these be lattice structures that are not an obstacle to the penetration of warm air. In the top shelf, you will need to drill a hole for the hood with a diameter of about 100 mm.
  • The back wall of the cabinet can be made of thick plywood. After installing it, you should fix the clothes rail and install the ventilation pipe with access to the exhaust grille.
  • When the design of the internal filling is completed, it remains to drill through holes at the bottom for air intake from the hallway and install the facades.

The next step will be independent production infrared heater from a heating film used for installing underfloor heating. For this you will need the following materials:

  • a piece of heating film of the right size;
  • power cord with plug and switch (for ease of use);
  • eyelets and terminals a ring for connecting a wire to a heating film in the amount of 2 pcs.;
  • wide electrical tape and super tape for finishing the dryer.

On the copper current-carrying strip of the film, you need to punch a hole for the grommet. For this, a regular stationery hole punch is suitable. Then you should connect the wire to the ring terminal and crimp it with a special tool or ordinary pliers. After making an incision along the copper strip, you need to insert the ring terminal and secure the grommet with a press or pliers. You can install the eyelets in any metal repair shop.

Similar actions should be performed on the copper strip on the other side. After that, it remains only to insulate the places where the wire is connected to the heating film and the ends of the copper strip on the opposite side. For aesthetic beauty, insulation spots can be sealed with super tape.

After making two infrared heaters we proceed to the last stage of creating a drying cabinet - we fix the heating elements in its lower and upper parts. By the way, if you wish, you can purchase ready-made infrared cassettes for these purposes.

Self-manufacturing of the cabinet will allow you to create a model that fits perfectly into the installation site and does not violate the interior harmony. In addition, the existing wardrobe can be converted into a drying cabinet, supplementing it with an exhaust hood and through holes, replacing plywood shelves with lattice models and installing do-it-yourself infrared heaters.

The design for drying clothes is made in the same way, and you can choose a balcony or loggia for its installation. The drying cabinet is also useful in the country or in country house where it is difficult to sit indoors even in bad weather. With it, clothes and shoes will always be dry and ready to use. The infrared heat does not tan the leather, so even leather jackets and boots can be dried in the closet.

Agree, such an assistant will find application in every home. Craft and your efforts will be rewarded

Making a dryer in the bathroom

For Bath

You can make a special device for drying clothes, which will be superimposed on the bath. This will require several bars 2 × 2 cm. A pair of bars should be placed on the bath 50 cm apart. They will become the basis for laying and fastening crossbars made of the same timber. On these transverse beams we will subsequently hang clothes.

The length of the bars is adjusted in accordance with the width of the bath itself. Usually the width of the plumbing fixture is 70 cm. All wooden elements must be carefully sanded and then painted or painted. The dryer simply fits on the side of the tub. In this case, the lower bars will be the basis for the upper crossbars, as well as a kind of limiter that will fix the device on the bathtub, preventing it from moving under load and falling.

Step-by-step instruction

Step 1. Having securely fixed the wood blank, mark the places for the intended holes with a pencil. The distance between the holes should be within 10 centimeters.

Step 2 Drill holes with a drill. After that, take the second workpiece and repeat the procedure again.

Step 3 Having drilled all the necessary places, take the clothesline and pass it through the extreme hole. Then secure it with a strong knot.

Step 4 On the other side of the workpiece, you need to make the same knot. This will help reduce the stress on the rope.

Step 5 In the same way, pass the rope through all the holes, not forgetting about the knots.

Step 6 Now take the twine. It is necessary for attaching your dryer to the walls of the balcony or to the tree. Connect the two ends of the workpiece and then tie them together, forming a triangle of twine. The sides of the triangle must be the same.

Step 7 In fact, the job is done. You just have to attach a homemade dryer in a suitable place. You can enjoy your work.

The main advantages of such crafts are cheapness and compactness. When twisted, it takes up almost no space, so you can hide it anywhere in the apartment.

Drying cabinet types

Equipment for drying clothes has separate types. These include:

  1. Universal. The cabinet drying metal is applied in life, at the enterprises. Equipped with multiple shelves, standard drying space on par with home furniture.
  2. Industrial. An electric drying cabinet is used in large industries where it is necessary to dry a large number of things, clothes, hats and shoes. Distinctive feature- large capacity in comparison with universal types.
  3. Baby. Small in size, height, used in everyday life, in specialized institutions such as kindergartens, schools. Used for clothes. Suitable for small people.

Drying cabinet for clothes

The device allows you to achieve completely dried things. Equipped with telescopic clothes hangers arranged in several sections. Thanks to this, shirts, suits and other items do not need to be ironed separately. Enough light steam treatment. The bottom compartment is applicable for shoes, hats, toys and so on. The maximum load in everyday life is 3-5 kg. This size is perfect for a large family. Drying cabinets for clothes and shoes have the following advantages:

  • the ability to quickly install the structure, its expansion;
  • the presence of a department for gloves;
  • convenient electronic control;
  • several drying modes;
  • work simultaneously with different materials;
  • the presence of ionization, cleaning filters, flavoring and other functions.

DIY floor dryer

This dryer is somewhat reminiscent of a table-book. It is quite compact, in the assembled state it does not take up much space. To make a floor dryer for clothes with your own hands, we need:

  • 2 side boards chipboard or MDF;
  • lined with plastic 70 by 20 cm and two boards of size 60 by 20 cm for the top and bottom;
  • steel pipes of two sizes - 22 by 2 mm and 18 by 2 mm;
  • 12 stainless steel bars for grating;
  • 6 steel pipes for support 18 by 2 mm;
  • 4 steel pipes 60 cm, 4 pipes 70 cm;
  • steel pipe 18 by 2 mm for the limiter ring;
  • 4 corners, 4 furniture wheels, 4 corners;
  • a pair of handles for furniture and self-tapping screws.

The order of work is as follows:

  1. The boards that form the body of our design must be fixed to each other. To do this, we need steel corners and self-tapping screws with countersunk heads. Attach 4 furniture wheels from below. This will allow the structure to be easily moved.
  2. The body is connected with ties screwed to the top. Nuts must be pressed into the holes of the screeds. You can fix them with cold welding. This will make the body strong.
  3. For the outer base, metal pipes with a cross section of 1.6 cm are used, which we will also need for a folding support that will hold the frame.
  4. For the manufacture of the frame and body will need hinges. For this purpose, steel pipes are suitable. The diameter of the pipes for the stand should be 18 mm, and for the grate - 16 mm.
  5. For the manufacture of the lattice, stainless steel rods 67 cm long are used. At the ends of these rods, you need to make a thread, use nuts to connect them to the frame. 6 rods are fixed, the distance from the frame pipes must be at least 6 cm.
  6. Now the structure needs to be painted. This will prevent rust, because the dryer is constantly in contact with water. First, the surface must be degreased with acetone or a solvent, then a primer must be applied, and only then painted.

Important! Enamel or car paint can be used as paint. You need to apply at least two layers

Such a design can be placed anywhere: on the balcony, in the bathroom, kitchen or bedroom, and if necessary, it can be folded and removed.

Varieties of ceiling dryers

All models are conditionally classified into several types. They differ appearance, installation method and capacity.

According to the type of construction, ceiling dryers are divided into the following categories:

  1. Stationary. The most primitive and simple mechanism, which consists of ordinary ropes or fishing line stretched between the planks. The main disadvantage of such a dryer is that it cannot be adjusted in length and height. In addition, to hang clothes, you will have to use a chair or stepladder.
  2. Sliding. More comfortable and technological model. Consists of a frame with tension ropes. It is attached to the ceiling with consoles, with the help of which the height of the dryer is adjusted (the structure can be lowered by 40-50 cm).
  3. Telescopic. Such a mechanism has sliding metal holders, thanks to which not only the height, but also the distance between the strings is regulated.
  4. "Lianas" (wall-ceiling). Stationary massive model with extended functionality. It consists of tubes that are connected with ropes to fastening blocks. The control mechanism is located on the wall. This design allows you to adjust the height of each individual tube. The only drawback of such a dryer is the complexity of installation.

According to the installation type, clothes dryers are divided into two types:

  1. Removable. Most often, this possibility is present in bunk models, which have a large capacity and take up a lot of space.
  2. Stationary. The most common type of ceiling dryer design, used for all its types.

In addition to these options, over the past decade, new technological and modern models have appeared:

  • automated. A kind of retractable dryer with a remote control unit, which is mounted in the ceiling. In addition, such structures have several fans that facilitate the drying process and time. The standard model can withstand weight up to 30 kg.
  • Bunk. They are distinguished by the presence of a lower tier with a large number of slats, which are interconnected by metal fasteners. The upper part of such a dryer is stationary, the lower part is removable, after operation it can be removed.
  • Ceiling with movable hinges. Characterized by the presence of hangers for clothes. They are two profiles fixed on the ceiling with cross-shaped brackets. The roller system allows you to raise and lower the device to the desired height.

Kinds

  • Ceiling - a traditional clothes dryer in the form of strings or metal tubes stretched under the ceiling, mounted on brackets attached to the ceiling.
  • Floor - folding, mobile design, which can be installed anywhere in the apartment, and after use, folded and removed.
  • Wall - clothes dryer, mounted between two opposite walls; can have a folding or sliding mechanism, so the full length and width unfolds only if necessary.
  • Wall-ceiling - a combined model that is mounted on two ceiling brackets and one fixing wall bracket; this design is very functional, as it can be lowered and raised like a blind - to make it more convenient to hang clothes.

Floor fixture design

The original floor version

A floor dryer will take up very little space if the design resembles a book table. In the assembled state, its width will be 20 cm, length - 60 cm, height - 70 cm. It is necessary to prepare:

  • chipboard boards 2 cm thick, lined with plastic: side panels 2 pcs. - 70 × 20 cm, top and bottom panel - 60 × 20 cm;
  • M6 screw - 8‒10 pieces;
  • furniture handle - 2 pcs.;
  • bushing in the form of a steel pipe - 22 × 2 mm;
  • screed (steel pipe) - 18 × 2 mm;
  • rods (stainless steel with a diameter of 3 mm) for the grate - 12 pcs.;
  • folding support (steel pipe) 16 × 1.5 mm - 6 pcs.;
  • frame for grating (steel pipe) 16×1.5 mm: 4 pcs. – 60 cm, 4 pcs. - 70 cm;
  • ring-limiter in the form of a steel pipe 22×2 mm;
  • nut M6 - 4 pcs.;
  • nut М3 – 48‒50 pieces;
  • tip made of polyethylene;
  • furniture corners for the body (standard) - 4 pcs.;
  • furniture wheels - 4 pcs.

The chipboard panels that form the body of the dryer are fixed to each other using steel angles and M6 screws equipped with countersunk heads and threaded bushings. Attach 4 wheels to the bottom panel. This will allow you to easily move the structure around the apartment.

Ties with a cross section of 1.8 cm, having the form of a metal pipe, are installed in the upper part of the chipboard panel and connect the body of the clothes dryer to each other. The nuts pressed into the holes at both ends of each metal tie must be fixed by welding (cold). The M6 screws screwed into them will securely fasten the panels together, giving strength and stability to the body of the dryer.

The base of the grate is made of metal pipes with a cross section of 1.6 cm (outer). The folding support holding the frame is constructed from the same pipe.

For the manufacture of the frame and body of the dryer, several hinges are required, which can be made from steel pipes. The stand requires 18mm hinges. For the manufacture of the grating, hinges with a diameter of 16 mm are needed.

Steel stainless wire

The grating itself is made of rods, the material for the manufacture of which is stainless steel wire with a cross section of 3 mm, cut into pieces 67 cm long. An M3 thread is made on both ends of each rod. Using nuts as fasteners, 2 on each side, we connect the bars to the lattice frame. In total, 6 rods are attached with an indent from the frame pipe by 6 cm.

The assembled dryer should be painted. A layer of paint will protect the steel structure from the formation of rust deposits and rapid wear, which will inevitably result from periodic contact with damp things. Before painting, the surface must be cleaned and degreased using acetone or solvents. Then a special one is applied in 1-2 layers. To paint the dryer, experts recommend using enamels for metal or car paint. The coloring composition is applied in 2-3 layers.

Making a wall dryer

The mobile design can be used in any room: in the kitchen, on the balcony, in the bathroom. It easily moves from place to place, and when assembled does not take up much space.

DIY ceiling dryer

The simplest solution to the issue of drying clothes is the manufacture and use of ceiling dryers. It is a structure that is mounted on the walls directly under the ceiling. This requires a minimum set of materials and does not steal useful space from the room, which is especially important in small apartments. And the installation does not take much time.

To make a ceiling-mounted clothes dryer with your own hands, you need to perform the following manipulations:

  1. Take an even number of beautiful hooks on self-tapping screws.
  2. We also need a strong rope or a thin cable.
  3. On opposite walls, almost under the ceiling, make symmetrical marks.
  4. Drill the walls in the marked places, insert hooks into the holes.
  5. Connect them with ropes, which are securely tied and pulled tightly.

Wall dryer device

Wall dryers - planks with holes through which the rope is pulled

In a stationary version, when the clotheslines are installed in a fixed position, the wall-mounted dryer is made of brackets and directly tension elements. Brackets are attached to parallel walls at the same horizontal level.

Holes are made in them through which linen strings are pulled. As a material for the brackets, metal corners or wooden bars can be used.

You can also use screws instead of brackets. This fastener is screwed into the wall, and a clothesline is pulled through the ring provided in it. An example of the manufacture of such a wall dryer, see this video:

In the manufacture of a folding model of a clothes dryer, a deflecting frame is attached to the wall. In such devices, the laundry is dried on slats, which are installed on the frame instead of threads. This gives the structure the necessary rigidity. A latch is attached to the wall, which holds the frame at the top point when it is not in use.

In the lower part of the structure, hinges are installed on which the frame deviates. The angle of deviation of the frame from the wall is controlled by side clamps and should not exceed 90 degrees. Can be used as side brackets mechanical devices with latch. With their help, various deflection angles are set. An example of a convenient folding dryer, see this video:

In simple manufacture, two ropes of the same length are used, which will not allow the frame to deviate beyond the set distance. This model should be lightweight, so best material wood is considered for its production.

You can make a stationary wall-mounted dryer with your own hands quite quickly. A folding product will require a lot of time.

This model is suitable for drying clothes in the bath. The choice of dryer model depends on the correct use of the internal space.

Heated dryer

To quickly dry something, we put it on the battery. It is much more convenient to do this on a dryer specially adapted for the radiator. To assemble it you will need:

  • panels - 2 pcs. wood, MDF or chipboard. In height, they should slightly exceed the battery;
  • metal pipes - 5 smaller diameters and 5 larger ones;
  • wooden spikes;
  • pipe plugs;
  • glue.

We do the work in the following order:

  1. In the upper part of the panels from the inside, we drill 5 blind holes for the spikes.
  2. We divide the front side of the panels into 3 equal parts, having previously retreated from the bottom of 10 centimeters, mark the points and drill through hole, then deaf, through and again deaf.
  3. Lubricate the blind holes with glue, and after hammering the spikes, let it dry.
  4. We collect the upper part, fixing the pipes of smaller diameter on the spikes.
  5. We assemble the front part using pipes of a larger diameter, while fixing some on spikes, and threading others into through holes.
  6. We put on the ends of the peeping pipes, plugs.
  7. If the radiator has a regulator, then we cut a hole for it on the panel on the side.

The device of the drying cabinet may differ solely on the basis of the specifics of the apparatus. There are household and industrial appliances; some are for drying clothes, the second - for uniforms, the third - for ski clothes and so on. There are also special apparatus for processing solvents - but we are more interested in units designed to dry clothes, and we'll talk about them.

About the purpose of the electric dryer

At enterprises, in the hotel and tourism business, as well as in kindergartens and other organizations where drying of large volumes of clothes and textiles is required, special drying cabinets are used. The size, power and functionality of this technique can vary significantly. A separate place in this area is occupied by laboratory devices that dry, heat or sterilize the instrument - such devices have a complex principle of operation and, as a rule, this is not interesting to the layman.

Types of drying cabinets (SH)

Today, according to the type of device, all SSH are divided into three main types:

  • Vacuum.
  • Thermo-convection.
  • infrared.

And if vacuum ones are industrial units, and infrared ones are completely created for drying confectionery and other food products, then thermo-convection ones are the devices that interest us the most.

They may be as follows:

  1. Universal. These are metal devices that can be used both in industrial and domestic environments. Inside there are shelves and hooks.
  2. Industrial- suitable only for large productions. They have a large capacity compared to universal options.
  3. Baby. Compact, more often household (or for kindergartens, schools) devices. They are also bought by people of short stature.

How does the machine work?

More or less like this:

  1. The air inside the cabinet warms up.
  2. Heating elements are used for heating.
  3. Air is circulated through the chamber by fans.
  4. Heaters and fans are located on the bottom side, on the ceiling or at the rear of the structure.

  1. The mode, temperature, type of fabric and other parameters are selected on the control panel, which can be mechanical or electronic.
  2. Inside there are hooks for hanging, straps for hangers, shelves and compartments for shoes and accessories.
  3. The design can be horizontal or vertical - this does not particularly affect the scheme of work. The box itself is made of metal, and the sections and shelves are perforated with small holes to speed up the processing of things and textile materials.
  4. Inside there is a thermostat that is responsible for heating the air when its temperature drops below the set one.

Important! When installing the apparatus, it is recommended to organize a special hood based on a corrugated pipe. If there is no possibility in organizing ventilation, you will often have to ventilate the room to avoid high humidity and the appearance of mold and fungus on surfaces.

SH dimensions

The main condition that is put forward for such a device is compliance with all safety rules, and dimensions play an important role in this. Outside, it should be compact, inside roomy - this is achieved due to the classic rectangular shape. When choosing a device, keep in mind that the higher it is, the better the air circulates and the better the moisture is removed. For an apartment, the following dimensions of the device are recommended: 60 x 60 x 180 cm. The wardrobe for children's clothes is slightly smaller: 60 x 25 x 150 cm. The width of the box depends on the number of sections. Models on the market are standardized, but some brands can order individual production.

Temperature

To prepare clothes, the temperature should be in the range of 70-80 degrees. Linen and shoes are quite delicate things; temperatures above 60 degrees are not recommended for them, otherwise the risk of damage to materials increases. If we are talking about an industrial unit, then the design has a branch pipe with a gate, which serves for exhaust ventilation. With the help of the gate, you can adjust the drying mode - it affects the temperature and the rate of supply of heated air flows.

What is inside the SC for clothes?

Usually in the school there are telescopic hangers in several sections - you can hang shirts, suits, jackets on them. In the lower compartment you can place shoes, hats, toys and more. The following can also be implemented:

  1. Quick assembly, extension (if needed).
  2. Compartment for accessories.
  3. Electronic control. different modes.
  4. Simultaneous work with different materials/fabrics.
  5. Ionization, filtration, aromatization, etc.

Who is producing?

There are not many dryer manufacturers in our market, but some brands nevertheless "broke through" and their cabinets took a confident place among traditional drum dryers. Pay attention to the products of such Swedish companies as Asko and Electrolux, and there are also good offers from domestic brands HOTSTORM and DION.

Is it possible to do it yourself?

Want to save? Tips from home craftsmen and their carefully recorded videos will help you! To build the device yourself, you will need classic fan heaters, which are usually used for space heating.

The most difficult moment during assembly is the installation of a pipe that will draw out moist air. For this purpose, a corrugated pipe of any shape is inserted into the body - one end is adjacent to the body, the other - to the exhaust grille. A special hole is drilled in the wall, and everything is carefully isolated from the street. The pipe itself is securely sheathed. The case must be metal, and it is imperative to drill holes in the doors for air to enter. The finished device is covered with waterproof furniture varnish. Details in the video.
