TUSUR is the youngest of Tomsk universities but never been in the shade. TUSUR is:

  • the first student business incubator in Russia,
  • the largest distance learning faculty beyond the Urals,
  • leadership in the implementation of innovative development programs aimed at creating a continuous system for generating new ideas, technologies and business projects.

It is no coincidence that 80 percent of the science-intensive products of the Tomsk region are produced by enterprises that are part of the TUSUR innovation belt, which includes more than 150 companies headed by university graduates. The university has made a significant contribution to the creation and strengthening of the reputation of the Tomsk region as a leading region in the development of the innovative economy of Russia.

The university has 13 faculties, 37 departments, 9 research institutes, more than 50 educational and scientific centers, departments and laboratories. 12.5 thousand students study at TUSUR, including 4.5 thousand full-time students. The teaching staff includes 69 full-time professors, doctors of sciences, 234 associate professors, candidates of sciences, 181 teachers. 22 doctors of sciences from other universities of Tomsk and institutes are also involved in the teaching work. TUSUR is one of the leading centers of education, fundamental and applied science in Russia. Training of specialists, bachelors and masters is carried out in 140 basic educational programs in the field of radio engineering, electronic and computer technology, programming, automation and control systems, information technology, information security, innovation, economics and social work.

TUSUR is a technical university providing high quality education, guaranteed employment and career opportunities. One of the main priorities of the educational process at the university is the training of widely erudite, innovatively active specialists. For this, an educational environment has been created aimed at highly effective training of graduates for staffing the basic sectors of the economy, social sphere and priority areas of development (PND) of science, engineering and technology, including for entrepreneurial activities.

A feature of the TUSUR educational process is the opportunity for students to participate in group project-based learning, build an individual learning trajectory, and use the innovative infrastructure of the university.

It is very important that more than 98% of TUSUR graduates, according to the employment bureau, find a job immediately after graduation. Of these, more than half is determined by the place future work even while studying.
