Now we will discuss in detail the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone, the characteristics of which are of interest to many people around the world. We are talking about the flagship of 2015. With this model, the manufacturer wanted to compete with the iPhone 6 and rehabilitate the flagship series after weak sales of the S5.

Positioning

As for the features of the Samsung Galaxy S6, the technical characteristics of the device primarily provide reliable protection from external damage according to the IP67 standard. For example, the device is not afraid of water. Metal is the main trump card of the Samsung C6 developers, the characteristics of the device were not affected, they can be called the highest possible at the time of release. Here you can see an attempt to create an unsurpassed design and surprise with the build quality. Among the users there will definitely be fans of the Samsung C6, whose characteristics are as follows: maximum camera quality, a good and large screen and time battery life in one day. Next, we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this development.

Controls, dimensions, appearance

In the Samsung C6 review, the characteristics will be the next reference point, on which we will dwell in more detail. The phone turned out to be quite compact. Its dimensions are 143.4x70.5x6.8 mm and weighs 138 grams. In the hand lies well, does not slip. The rear wall and side frame are made of metal. It should be noted that the Samsung S6 has commendable durability characteristics, the phone cannot be bent even with great effort. Various color solutions. The back wall is painted over and covered by the fourth generation. A similar coating covers the front surface. Each color, thanks to the glass, looks like a metallic, is observed interesting game shades in the sun. Traces remain on the surface of the screen, it is easily soiled, but not excessively.

The metal frame received recesses along the side edges, which adds convenience. The right side surface received a nanoSIM card tray and a power button. On the left are the keys to adjust the volume. The top panel is complemented by an infrared port that allows you to control household appliances, as well as a microphone (another one is on the bottom). As for the microUSB connector and 3.5 mm headset jack, they also found their place - on the bottom panel. The rear surface houses the flash and heart rate sensor. The front panel is complemented by a physical button, it is built in. In addition, there are a couple of touch keys. Above the screen is located and 5-megapixel.

The manufacturer decided to simplify the shell and in this case, it is perfectly noticeable. The drop-down curtain is different from what you're used to in Android 5. Some icons have received additional functionality, for example, a fragment of the network name is displayed in the Wi-Fi shortcut. Pretty handy solution. In conclusion, consider the price of this device. You can buy the device from 44,000 rubles.

If we compare samsung galaxy S6 with iPhone 6, the latter loses a lot in terms of specifications. According to many, such a comparison is not very fair, because by the time the Galaxy S6 was released, the sixth iPhone had been on sale for half a year. Well, now we're going to do a similar comparison between Samsung's flagship and the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus that have hit stores recently.

Design

Samsung has seriously taken care of the design of its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, having developed an updated design for these models. The front of smartphones looks very distinctive and familiar, but the shiny metal edging and glass back panel instead of cheap plastic (for which Samsung has always been criticized) makes these phones the most solid looking compared to all other Samsung smartphones.

The iPhone 6s looks exactly like the iPhone 6, with its unibody aluminum body and glass front that curves around the edges of the screen. Apple used 7000 aluminum to build the iPhone 6s chassis, making the device stronger and less pliable than its predecessor. hallmark iPhone 6s has become a new color scheme “ pink gold”, which quickly gained popularity.

It is difficult to make an unambiguous choice in favor of the iPhone 6s or Galaxy S6 in terms of design, these are definitely the most beautiful smartphones to date.

Design

The iPhone 6s comes with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a resolution of 1334×740 and 326 PPI. The display supports 3D Touch, which is one of the most important features of the device. 3D Touch realizes perfectly new level interaction with the iPhone. Along with familiar gestures, iPhone can now recognize the force of pressing the screen. The iPhone's glass screen is produced using a new dual ion exchange process that replaces sodium ions with potassium ions, making the glass in the iPhone 6s screen the strongest of any smartphone, according to Apple.

The Galaxy 6s has a 5.1-inch Quad HD screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1440, 577 PPI. In addition to the size, it is difficult to draw any conclusions, let's wait for comments from experts.

Processor and RAM

iPhone 6s is equipped with a new 1.85 GHz A9 processor with an integrated co-processor and 2 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy S6 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 7 Octa 7420 chip, which is based on a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 and a quad-core 2.1GHz Cortex-A57.

While the iPhone only has a 1.85GHz dual-core processor, it still outperforms the Galaxy S6 in single-core benchmarks, scoring 2448 compared to the Galaxy S6's 1213. The multi-core performance of the iPhone 6s and the flagship from Samsung are almost the same.

Single-core performance is probably the most important performance characteristic of a smartphone. The speed of any application depends primarily on this characteristic, while multi-core affects only some applications.

Camera

Both devices have very advanced cameras. The Galaxy S6 comes with a 16-megapixel camera with 4K video support, while the iPhone 6s has a 12-megapixel camera.

The Galaxy S6's camera sensor has a larger aperture, thus giving it an advantage over the iPhone 6s in low-light shooting. Also at samsung cameras there is optical image stabilization (OIS), implemented only in the iPhone 6s Plus.

Apple smartphones traditionally have very high quality cameras. One of the reasons to choose an iPhone over an Android device has always been the former having the best camera. However, things have changed in the last couple of years, Android OEMs have started to work better, and as a result, Android smartphone cameras sometimes even outperform their iPhone counterparts.

One of the main features of the iPhone 6s - Live Photos, animated photos, quite an interesting thing. Some believe that it is only needed to increase sales, but people with children very quickly realize the value of this feature. If Samsung adds a similar feature to their phones, it won't come as a surprise to anyone.

Battery

Undoubtedly, one of the most important things to consider when choosing a smartphone is the duration of its operation. The Galaxy S6 comes with a 2550 mAh battery, which is much more than the 1715 mAh of the iPhone 6s. But despite Samsung's claims that the Galaxy S6's battery better battery iPhone 6s, reviews of the first are quite negative: some users cannot squeeze more than three hours of active time out of the Galaxy S6.

Price

The Galaxy S6 was originally priced at $672 at launch, but prices have since dropped and the smartphone now costs $576 in its most basic 32GB package.

The iPhone 6s costs a bit more, starting at $649 for the 16GB model, but unlike Samsung, Apple isn't likely to drop it in the near future.
Thus, you can buy the Galaxy S6 at a better price and, moreover, with twice the hard drive capacity.

Technical specifications

Below is a more detailed comparison of the two flagships.

Conclusion

Interestingly, Samsung is following in the footsteps of Apple, abandoning features such as a removable battery, a microSD slot, and water resistance. The company's most die-hard fans were less than enthusiastic about the move, as these features were the reason why Samsung's products could be preferred over Apple's smartphones.

Pros of the iPhone 6s

  • Performance
  • 3D Touch
  • Tight integration of hardware and software
  • Support

Pros of the Samsung Galaxy S6

  • Photographing in low light, OIS
  • Wireless charger
  • fast charging

The key advantages of the iPhone 6s over the Galaxy S6 are speed, 3D Touch (in my opinion, the most important feature), ease of use due to the competent integration of software, hardware and design, and technical support, which is generally the most underestimated aspect in choosing a smartphone. On the other hand, Android is much more flexible and customizable, so it's more interesting for tech-savvy buyers.

The Galaxy S6 has a slightly better camera (in low light) and innovative features such as wireless charging and fast charging, respectively, allowing you to charge your device without a cable and charge up to 50% in 30 minutes and 100% in 100 minutes (iPhone 6s takes 180 minutes). for a full charge).

I hope the review was honest and did not look directed towards the iPhone 6s, which I personally still prefer. Express your criticism in the comments, if it is constructive, I will gladly make corrections to the post.

The Samsung S6 Edge is a one-of-a-kind smartphone with a curved screen. So far, there are no analogues on the market, but you can’t get rid of just one “highlight”. There are a huge number of criteria by which smartphones can be compared. There are so many of them on the market today that it is incredibly difficult to make a choice. By the way, the latest models of smartphones from Apple have gained popularity. Or rather, they did not lose it. But the Korean concern Samsung is not "smoking on the sidelines", it has presented a worthy competitor - the Samsung S6 Edge smartphone. AT recent times There is a lot of debate on the internet about which is better.

Let's try to objectively look at things and compare these phones.

Specifications

For clarity and ease of perception, we write them down in a table.

Smartphone Apple iPhone 6 16Gb Samsung S6 Edge
Price $860 $880
Operating system iOS Android 5.0
Screen, diagonal, resolution screen 4.7 inches, resolution 1334×750 screen 5.1 inches, resolution 2560×1440
Processor, frequency 2 cores, Apple A8 1400 MHz 8 cores, Samsung Exynos 7420 (4 cores at 2.1 GHz, 4 cores at 1.5 GHz)
RAM 1 GB 3 GB
disk memory 16 GB, no memory card slot 32 GB, no memory card slot
Cameras: rear, front Rear 8 MP, built-in flash, front 1.2 MP Rear 16 MP, LED flash. Front camera 5 MP
Dual SIM support Not Not
Battery capacity 1810 mAh 2600 mAh

What can be learned from this table? And the fact that the Apple iPhone 6 did not lie next to the Samsung S6 Edge smartphone. The latter has hardware, which is an order of magnitude higher than the components in the iPhone 6. What is only one 8-core processor and a large amount of 3 GB of RAM. Samsung S6 Edge definitely supports multitasking, and it will be able to “pull” “heavy” applications at the same time – the processor will definitely cope, there will be enough RAM.

The next difference is the screen. In Samsung, it is not only more diagonally, the main thing is that it has a much higher resolution, from which the picture becomes more detailed. Again, on the S6, the screen is still bent around the edges, which makes it unique in its kind. The camera is another advantage of the Samsung S6 Edge smartphone. 16 MP, LED flash and autofocus allow you to achieve excellent picture quality. There are also many different settings for the camera, which opens up the possibility of creativity. However, the iPhone also has this, so this is not an advantage. But the fact that the camera in the Samsung S6 Edge is better is unequivocal. The rear camera, by the way, is also better, but it plays a much smaller role.

A 2600 mAh battery versus 1810 mAh in the iPhone 6. In principle, a large battery capacity is good, but with its powerful hardware, a Samsung smartphone will “eat” it more actively, and in this case the advantage is leveled. Both smartphones will have to be charged every evening during normal use (i.e. communicate from time to time, take pictures, listen to music).

By the way, both smartphones are high-tech and, if I may say so, multimedia. Both are equipped with a fingerprint scanner - one of the latest technological developments in gadget locking and personal data protection. At the beginning of the article, I wanted to write about the fingerprint scanner as a virtue iPhone smartphone, however, it turned out that Samsung also has it.

Operating Systems. Android vs iOS

This is a very painful topic that touches the feelings of all fans. Apple technology and Android smartphone owners.

Exactly operating system The iPhone, as the owners of these smartphones say, largely determines its high cost. Those. This is a unique product that is only available on iPhones. It is difficult to argue with this, because indeed, no other gadgets have iOS "on board". Another plus is that with relatively weak hardware, Apple smartphones (and tablets too) work perfectly, perform complex tasks quickly and without freezes. Most likely, this is due to the excellent software optimization and the interaction of all components with each other. This is what makes this operating system so valuable.

You can’t say anything bad about Android either, but if you compare the number of complaints about the “brakes” of gadgets on Android and the number of bad reviews about devices on iOS, then it’s easy to conclude: Android slows down more often and harder.

But in favor of Android, you can bring the distribution store for games and applications Play Market. iOS has an analogue of iTunes, but iTunes usually paid programs and games. There are also free ones, but they are few. In the Play Market, on the contrary, there are many high-quality free games and programs, which is also a plus, although very doubtful.

Design, style

iPhone 6 is valued for its unique design, style. It is often bought not only because of specifications(especially since they are not a fountain here), but because it emphasizes the style and taste of the owner. In society, the gadget is positioned as an attribute of a stylish modern man with good taste and wealth. In many ways, its price is determined precisely by the promotion and brand.

But the Samsung S6 Edge is not inferior in this case. Moreover, it looks significantly better than any iPhone model and series. Considering the curved screen alone is just an incredible breakthrough in digital technology, and Samsung is the first company to make it. So on the fashion front, in our opinion, it is Samsung that wins.

In summary, what we have: at a relatively equal cost, the Samsung S6 Edge outperforms the iPhone 6 in terms of hardware performance, screen quality, cameras, as well as in appearance and style. However, it is inferior in terms of software, but there are many people who can dispute this point. The verdict is clear: the Samsung S6 Edge is much better iPhone 6.

Apple and Samsung have been major rivals in the smartphone market for many years. And if in the past few years their rivalry has been partly on the court hearings, then this year, manufacturers have completely switched to the fight within the framework of technology. And this has had a positive effect on the flagship devices of the companies. First, Apple introduced the iPhone 6, admitting it was a mistake not to release large smartphones. And now Samsung has launched the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, which received new case materials. At the same time, with the iPhone 6, Apple has already managed to significantly increase sales and regain lost market positions. Let's see what answer Samsung has prepared for the opponent with the Galaxy S6 edge.

Considering that Apple is making significant changes to its smartphones in a generation, and the iPhone 6s will hit the market this year, we thought that comparing the current generation of iPhone with the Galaxy S6 edge would be very useful. Moreover, the devices will compete directly with each other for at least another six months. Most of what is written below will also be true for direct Galaxy comparison S6 with iPhone 6.

A little about testing itself

In order to make summarizing the test results easier and more understandable, each section of the device will receive from 1 to 10 points. Their sum will determine the winner.

Materials, build quality

In the past, Samsung has used plastic in its flagship models, while Apple has favored glass and metal. Actually, the lion's share of criticism of Samsung designers was based on the use of plastic. This year the situation has changed dramatically.

In the Galaxy S6 edge, the company first used aircraft-grade aluminum, which creates a rigid frame for the case, as well as Gorilla Glass 4. The latter differs from third-generation glass in increased strength and, according to specifications, is able to withstand a fall from a height of 1.2 meters onto a hard surface.

A new approach to materials, as well as the rejection of a rear removable cover, allowed Samsung to create a very quality case, with a tight fit of all elements.

In the iPhone 6, Apple has traditionally used anodized aluminum, as well as glass covering the display on the front panel. All this is combined into a monolithic body, with a good fit of all parts.

In the end, both models stand out for their use of quality materials and superb build quality, as befits a flagship.

Ease of use

The smartphones presented in comparison have a different display diagonal, but in terms of size they are quite comparable.

The height and width of the Apple iPhone 6 is 138.1 x 67 mm, with a thickness of 6.9 mm. The smartphone turned out to be really thin and not very wide, which allows thumb reach the top of the display.

The power button on the iPhone 6 is located on the right side, and the volume control is on the left.

Thanks to the successful placement, both the thumb and forefinger fit equally well on them.

The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, despite the large diagonal, are 142.1 × 70.1 × 7 mm. The smartphone came out a little higher and wider than the iPhone 6, but at the same time it retained dimensions that are comfortable to use.

S6 edge fits well in the hand, although its edges may initially seem too sharp, in practice this is not the case. The location of the power button and volume keys is similar to the iPhone 6.

Today, this is the best option for implementing good ergonomics in a smartphone.

Thus, both models perform well in everyday use. The dimensions of the iPhone 6 are likely to please those who are moving from models with a smaller diagonal of the case. Otherwise, the Galaxy S6 edge, with the same level of ergonomics, looks more advantageous due to more rational use front panel area.

Display

The Galaxy S6 edge uses a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. All this allows the screen to form an image with a pixel density of 577 per inch. Thanks to this, the Galaxy S6 edge managed to significantly improve the quality of the picture, which has now become closer to high-quality glossy magazines.

Another feature of the Galaxy S6 edge is that it folds over the right and left edges of the case. It not only looks impressive, but also carries a functional load. The curved edges of the case make it easier to scroll through the lists.

The use of a curved display also produces an interesting visual effect, making the screen bezels appear to be miniaturized on the sides. But in fact, they are large enough to protect the screen when dropped.

The maximum display brightness of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is 600 cd/m2 and the minimum is 2 cd/m2. The smartphone screen is factory calibrated at a good level, but differs significantly depending on the selected mode. Optimal, according to our measurements, is the AMOLED Photo mode. In it, the screen shows more than 100% coverage of the sRGB color space with a large bias in green color. At the same time, its temperature is within 6500K, and the gamma is at the level of 2.2-2.3, which is a good indicator.

The display on the iPhone 6 has a diagonal of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 1334×750 pixels, which produces an image with a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch.

Apple has traditionally used IPS-matrix, but this time with dual-domain pixel technology, which allows you to widen the viewing angles of the screen. This design is based on the idea that not all pixels need to be evenly spaced. Instead, they can be beveled when viewed from the perspective of the lines defined by the display's rectangular edges, to compensate for uneven illumination.

Despite the lower resolution and ppi count, the iPhone 6 display looks very good. Its maximum brightness level reaches 500 cd / m2, and the minimum - 4.7 cd / m2, which is an excellent indicator for IPS screens. The factory calibration of the display in the iPhone 6 is very good.

In general, both screens leave a good impression, but in direct comparison, the display of the Galaxy S6 edge looks better, it is larger, sharper and with richer colors.

Performance

The smartphones in our comparison are built on their own processors. The iPhone has a 1.4GHz dual-core 64-bit A8 processor, which is built using 20nm technological process. The Galaxy S6 edge uses a 64-bit 14nm Exynos 7420 processor, clocked at 1.5GHz and 2.1GHz. The AnTuTu performance test for iOS and Android is different, but it generally allows you to evaluate the level of performance of devices. In this parameter, the Exynos 7420 bypasses the A8.

However, given the lower resolution of the display, the processor power in the iPhone 6 will be sufficient for most tasks. In the Galaxy S6 edge, the Exynos 7420 performance is not only enough for the current demanding applications and games, the processor has a good headroom that will allow it to remain relevant for a couple more years.

At the same time, when switching between the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 edge, the difference in the amount of RAM is clearly visible. Samsung's flagship uses 3 GB, while Apple decided to stop at 1 GB. For a flagship smartphone, this is not enough. As a result, switching between open applications and tabs in the browser is more comfortable on the S6 edge.

The built-in storage, depending on the modification, starts at 16 GB in the iPhone 6, and 32 GB in the Galaxy S6 edge, and both models do not have memory card slots.

Camera

The Galaxy S6 edge uses a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture, as well as optical stabilization. The iPhone 6 has an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual flash.

In good light in HDR:

In poor lighting:

Macro:

As you can see from the pictures, the camera of the Galaxy S6 edge is better image detail due to a larger aperture and resolution. Apple squeezed the maximum possible out of the 8-megapixel Sony photomodule, but it could well have been replaced with another one with a higher aperture and resolution.

The fingerprint scanner

The Galaxy S6 edge and iPhone 6 can use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the display, as well as to purchase applications in the company store.

In both cases, they are aligned with a mechanical home button below their displays. The principle of operation of the scanners is the same, to unlock the finger you just need to attach to their surface.

At the same time, they work equally well, Samsung has pulled up a lot in this regard over the year, and differ only in shape.

Multimedia

Galaxy S6 edge and iPhone 6 out of the box support a fairly large number of multimedia files. At the same time, it should be noted that if the corresponding format is not in the list, then this is easily bypassed by installing third-party players. But let's see what test models can do initially.

Apple iPhone 6 can play AAC, MP3 Audible, Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV audio formats. You can copy music to the built-in player only through iTunes, which is not always convenient.

The iPhone 6 sounds very good, it has a good volume margin and it is possible to adjust the equalizer.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge supports MP3, M4A, 3GA, AAC, OGG, OGA, WAV, WMA, AMR, AWB, FLAC, MID, MIDI, XMF, MXMF, IMY, RTTTL, RTX and OTA audio formats. It is especially worth highlighting support for uncompressed FLAC audio. You can use a USB cable and wireless sync to transfer files to your smartphone.

The sound quality of the S6 edge is also at a good level, while the volume margin will also please lovers of open headphones.

As for the volume of the external speaker, both smartphones produce approximately the same sound quality, but the S6 edge still outshines the iPhone 6.

Both smartphones can play video through the built-in player, but have different codec support:

Codec\Name UltraHD4K.mp4 Neudergimie.mkv GranTurismo.mp4 Spartacus.mkv ParallelUniverse.avi
Video MPEG4 Video (H264) 3840×2160 29.92fps, 19.4Mbps MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920×816 23.98fps, 10.1Mbit/s MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920×1080 60fps, 19.7Mbit/s, 20Mbit/s MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280×720 29.97fps, 1.8Mbps MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280×536 24.00fps 2.8Mbps

iPhone 6

Galaxy S6 edge

In general, these models do an excellent job of playing music, except for the built-in support for FLAC in the Galaxy S6 edge. But in terms of video, the basic capabilities of the Samsung smartphone are noticeably higher than those of the iPhone 6.

Autonomy and charging

The capacity of the built-in battery in the iPhone 6 is 1810 mAh versus 2600 mAh in the Galaxy S6 edge. We compared the autonomy of smartphones using the Geekbench 3 test, which discharged them with the included displays set to a medium brightness level.

As a result, the iPhone 6 lasted 3 hours and 28 minutes, while the Galaxy S6 edge lasted 7 hours and 32 minutes. These tests are confirmed by real-life operation, in which the iPhone 6 can withstand a maximum of daylight hours in medium load mode, while the Galaxy S6 edge works for about a day.

From 0 to 100%, the iPhone 6 charges in about 2 hours, while the smartphone has an undocumented fast charging function. When using a 2.1A charger, iPhone 6 can be charged in 1 hour 40 minutes.

Galaxy S6 edge via bundled Charger charging takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. At the same time, the fast charging function allows you to charge your smartphone from 0 to 15% in 10 minutes, with economical use, this can last up to 4 hours. Up to 80% of the battery is charged in 50 minutes. Samsung Adaptive and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 built-in wireless charging charges the Galaxy S6 edge in about 3 hours.

As a result, in terms of autonomy, the Galaxy S6 edge shows the best results, which are also complemented by the ability to quickly charge and support wireless chargers.

final grade

By the sum of points in this comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge deservedly wins, for which he receives the editors' choice " Best quality". Samsung has managed to significantly increase the functionality of its flagship, while it received a good design and body materials. The remaining six months until the next version of Apple's smartphone, the iPhone 6, will be difficult to compete with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. It will be even more difficult for the new iPhone to do this if it receives only minor improvements compared to the iPhone 6. Samsung has been able to raise the bar for quality, and although it has not become unattainable, technologically the company has made a serious leap forward.

Received significant differences from previous representatives of the series. It implements a number of useful features, which have no analogues on the market yet, which makes the device unique in its kind. However, between the Galaxy S6 Edge model and just S6 there are whole line significant differences, and both options are very different from other similar smartphones.

Many mobile gadget lovers are already wondering whether to go with the more traditional Galaxy S6 or go for the innovative double-curved design of the S6 Edge. Let's pay a little more attention to this issue and analyze in detail the features of the screens of the two flagships in order to understand how the ways of using them will differ.

Screen

The Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch screen with Samsung's standard Super AMOLED technology and a Quad HD resolution with a pixel density of 557 ppi. In these parameters, the screen of the EDGE version is no different, but it turned out to be more functional thanks to two curved sides. Thus, each user will have to make a conclusion before buying whether he needs a curved display. At the moment, it is not clear how it will be possible to further protect the curved screen with a protective film. However, in terms of attractiveness and flashiness, here the Galaxy S6 Edge is ahead due to the unusual shape.

Performance

The filling of both flagships will be identical, so most likely they will also be the same in terms of power. On board smartphones - 3 GB of RAM, the proprietary Exynos 7420 is installed as a central processor, made using 64-bit technology and showing solid performance results. The maximum clock speed of this processor will be the same, so do not trust sources on the Internet that claim that they know for sure that the maximum frequency of the EDGE version is different from the S6.

Internal memory

Samsung decided to launch three versions of the flagships with different sizes of internal storage: variants with 32, 64 and 128 GB. However, information about support for MicroSD expansion cards from the manufacturer has not been received. Thus, this is a rather responsible choice that the buyer must make right away, since it will not be possible to increase the memory in the gadget simply by inserting a card into the appropriate tray.

Battery

In this component, the Galaxy S6 Edge for some reason received a slight advantage, however, a very small one - 2600 mAh versus 2550 mAh for the Samsung Galaxy S6. Interestingly, it will not be possible to remove the battery now, since it is non-removable. Sometimes 50 mAh plays a big role, but not for those people who are used to recharging their smartphone battery to the maximum every day.

Camera

Both flagships received a 16-megapixel camera. The functionality of this important component turned out to be simply amazing, the developers really managed to surprise the public during the presentation, demonstrating the capabilities of the camera. The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, which is quite enough for a good selfie and negotiations via the Internet. Here again, there are no differences between the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6, the specifications of both cameras are the same.

Software part

The Android 5.0.2 operating system is similar to the two variants of S6 and initially comes with a lite version. At the same time, the Galaxy S6 Edge received a slightly more advanced functionality due to the presence of a curved screen. Most likely, most users will react positively to this.

Design

The developers have given new version Galaxy S6 is very much attention to design, and the output is a model that is very different in many respects from previous smartphones in the line. Of course, the common features inherent in the Galaxy are guessed, but, for example, the body materials used are completely different, which has significant influence on tactile sensations when using the gadget. The premium quality of the device is felt not only in appearance but according to the materials used. Metal surrounds plus glass panels make both versions of the S6 visually pleasing. The difference between the Edge model lies in the bezel, which is curved on the sides, including the screen. Due to this feature, the weight turned out to be less by 6 grams, as well as the dimensions in terms of length and width: 142.1 mm x 70.1 mm x 7.0 mm.

The Galaxy S6 measures 143.4mm x 70.5mm x 6.8mm. As you can see, the standard model looks preferable only in thickness. Another key difference between the new models is a large selection of colors. White, black and gold will be available on both models, while the Galaxy S6 Edge will still be available in Emerald and the Galaxy S6 in Blue.

Results
Given all of the above, we can conclude that smartphones are no different in almost all the main features. There is only a slight difference in battery capacity - 50 mAh in favor of the Edge and in size, again very small - such that it is visually difficult to tell which smartphone is longer or thicker.

So the main difference is the screen. The Galaxy S6 Edge will be the first smartphone in the industry to have a curved screen on both sides, although users will be forced to pay $ 150 more for this feature compared to the traditional form. It's up to you to decide.
