How to repair walls with plaster

Filling the screed

The technology for constructing a concrete floor is similar to plastering, only it is performed with a cement-sand mortar (it is better to purchase a ready-made mixture). The set of tools is similar: a flat bar, beacons, a mixer for a drill and a trowel. The correct screed in a new building is done like this:

  1. Thoroughly cover the cleaned and leveled surface with a primer.
  2. Take a little dry mixture, add gypsum powder there for quick solidification and make a small batch of mortar. With it, set up beacons from galvanized profiles with an interval of 1-1.5 m.
  3. Prepare a working cement-sand mortar and lay it on the floor, stretching the rule. Pay special attention to the corners of the room.
  4. After 12-14 hours, when the screed has set, use the same rule to clean off the excess mixture, then remove the beacons and repair the marks on the surface.


Metal beacons for pouring

Note. The height of the screed in the bathroom should be 3-5 cm lower than in the rest of the apartment. A thick layer of mortar (over 80 mm) is recommended to be reinforced with masonry mesh.

Installation of engineering networks

Works on laying communications are divided into 2 stages - roughing and finishing. The first is made after plastering and pouring the screed, the second - at the end of the finishing. Rough editing includes the following operations:

  • cutting furrows (strobe) in the plaster layer for electric cables, water and heating pipes;
  • installation of shut-off valves and installations for a wall-mounted toilet bowl;
  • laying pipelines in strobes and grouting;
  • fastening of heating radiators;
  • laying electrical wiring with the installation of socket boxes, as described.


Advice. When laying cables, do not forget about low-voltage networks - twisted pair for the Internet and cable TV, signaling and video surveillance. These types of wiring should also be hidden in the walls and then bring out the corresponding connectors at the right points.
